Wow the nostalgia. My dad got me a board that looks exactly like this, same hang up, same massive staples, bulletproof bull and same target backside to it when I was 6-7 for Christmas. Used it for some 10 years to a point where it looked like a pin cushion and not only were all the wires bent and dented from the thousands of bounce outs it caused but the darts would bounce out of every bed on it from over-use xD tell you what though, moving into a real board, it put me in good stead for high averages learning to bang 180s on this guy.
My first dart board was one of these when I was a kid, although I bought mine at a local chinese shop, they are shops that we have here in Portugal that sell just about anything apart from food products. Mine certainly was cheaper and had sets of 3 darts. a few years back after not having played for a long time I went to Decathlon and bought actual boards, my first was the Canaveral Club 500 which I upgraded to a Canaveral Club 700. have you ever heard of these? They appear to me like really quite good quality and only cost 40€. would love to see you review them, especially the Club 700. All my darts are from the same brand and place too.
When I was a kid, this is what I thought a dartboard looked like. Thank goodness they and I have come a long way. Thanks for another great video! Where can we get Darts Referee flights?
Very similar to the board I started on a year ago 😂 it was a winmau family home games board in a oak cabinet and it was shite , I had never played darts before in my life either but within 2wks I did hit a 180 and that’s when I upgraded and the addiction started , now I have a full top of range winmau set up with lighting system and oche Matt and I’ve spent over £1000 on PDC players darts 16 sets to start a collection , I’m averaging around mid 70’s and I’m quite a good player now and I love the sport
I had one of those growing up, the middle 6 rings( bullseye to bottom of triple 20s) popped out a huge circle. However, it makes a great story coming up as a player using the only equipment I had growing up
same, I have a rule that if I have three bounce outs in a row I will buy a new legit board. So far I only have had two bounce outs in a row couple times
Viper shot king. Got it for Christmas 2020. Replaced with a winmau blade 5 in April 2021. Turned 10 times, darts bounce out dead center of the big areas, way too many staples, absolutely destroyed the tips of my darts with all the metal sitting on the surface of the board. Came with a tape measure and that's the positive. $35 was way, way, way too much. Regulation size anyway, so I guess 2 positives. Wouldn't recommend for any reason. Just pay the money and get a winmau or unicorn.
I was about 6 years old when my parents bought me the same board very long time ago from Birmingham market for about £1 amazing cheapest if you shop around back in 1973 you can see how old I am
This was my first board as a kid 17 years ago 😂 why are they still making it?! The bottom segment of the 5 lost all its white in a week. 20 quid is unbelievable really
Please review dart board decathlon canaveral club 500/ 700....because i wonder about....is it better or good enough? Does it feel like pro dart board as unicorn, winmau, etc....?
in my country it is not a tradition to play darts. We do not have shops for darts equipment and what we have in sports shops is very amateurish, In our country, this board costs 900 denars or 15 euros
I have that dartboard in another country..i thought it was good until i realised that the bullseye is wayy harder than the other colors i tried stabbing the bullseye and it couldnt go in. And then my dad came back from the country that he works in and got me a real heavy dart board, the unicorn striker and im thankful that he did
One of my mates had one of these and the T20 area was absolutely ruined, plus you can't rotate it cause the numbers are printed in place, think it's made out of cardboard or cork aha. I donated him a Unicorn Eclipse eventually
I know it’s been a year since this video was posted but thank RU-vid for that. First, this video should be a 1 minute video explaining what level of dart player and dart boards they should consider. A cheap board is only for those who never plan to play darts. That’s should of been noted fairly quick. I would suggest a review of a good promising dartboard for those new serious players who don’t want to invest in a pro board. I would like to see a review of the viper boards that never get press yet are comparison boards to other boards. Specifically the Viper Razorback or AIM360. I think that comparison would be great to weigh against the Samurai board in one of your other reviews. Please consider. The largest target market are those serious players who want to get to the next level. This board review is for those players not interested in playing darts. It’s really a waste of time. Your target market are the serious players at all levels and a new player with a 1.5 MPR is that audience. I would like to see a review of the Viper Razorback. I think it’s a choice for those new players getting serious. That’s your market.
yeah that dart board on ebay with 6 darts is only £4.50 which for a outdoor tiki bar build built during lockdown isnt to bad. im buying one as were no pro dart players and know its just be there on wall for fun. but dam £23 i always hated that about amazon we pay for prime and still theyre not cheaper than ebay :)
I've got one of these and the darts keep bouncing out! It's OK just for fun because it's easy to hang it up but I've just bought a Winmau Blade 6 for my birthday lol!
What you have there is high quality compared to the practically unused trash picked dart board I just found. Mine is nothing but a piece of bent round stiff coarboard wrapped in felt, with dart board patterns on both sides. There's no metal in it at all. At least yours is straight, and not bent. Mine looks like something that parents would get for their 10 year old (or possibly younger) for their first dartboard. Of course, a "reasonably sane" parent would require adult supervision, with the darts locked up most of the time. But c'mon, we know how that goes! A sane parent would not get a dartboard for young kids! I was intending to give it to a thrift store. But after typing this out, I got to thinking "Am I going to play the role of enabling a ten year old to throw darts, that may possibly hit a sibling instead?" So instead of this scenario, I'm going to destroy it and throw it back in the trash right after I get done writing this comment.
First board I ever had was one of these back in 1972. Cost less than a knicker from North End Road market in Fulham. I had a set of Durro darts from my uncle. He taught me how to practice. I spent hours stva time on that board. When I turned 14 he put up a full size Winmau board (complete with staples.) and I got signed up to play for his pub team in Notting Hill. Must admit though, that first little board is ok for kids but it's totally shit!
I bought it for like 6 euros and after only 7 games with my friend the numbers 1,5 and 20 are battered. Also the darts which came with the board are useless and cant even stick to the board.
that's called flocked dart board...of course that's different with bristle dart board....it's not designed for long durability or self healing surface so we can't have much expectation for this one like sisal fiber....actually flocked dart board is just designed as wall ornament and not for playing....even it has darts in the package.....
you get the same board from home bargains with two sets of darts for £8 lol they are terrible you need to throw the dart with some force to get it to stick in the thing
Brits, go to Argos......best board ‘shot’ board.....but not used in Championships.....Unicorn/Winmau/Target/one80 gladiator are....who is controlling? Lol @Mattedgartv.
