The Irish Guy takes a look at the WORST Premier League squad of 2023, featuring one player per club, including the likes of Antony, Mykhailo Mudryk and Darwin Nunez. Business enquiries: irishguybusiness@gmail.com
Eric Dier escaping this thanks to Lloris. Lloris had a fantastic career and its a shame it ended the way it did with Spurs. Just age caught up with him faster than we see with some keepers. Still an absolute legend. Now we have Vicario who is an absolute beast.
Was lloris a legend at spurs? There no doubt he had a great career, but I remember as a kid getting excited about signing this world class keeper and I don’t think he ever came close to what he did for say France in a spurs shirt. Don’t get me wrong he was an upgrade on the likes of Gomes, but I don’t think he ever came close to the billing of one of the best in the world.
Emile Smith Rowe for Arsenal, has struggled with injuries since the beginning of 22/23 and hasn’t been able to get a foot in the team since, barely playing at all in 2023. Once tipped as the future of Arsenal alongside Bukayo Saka, his prospects have faded into obscurity and even though he’s finally getting some minutes again, Emile’s future at Arsenal is bleak.
For Liverpool, you could've gone with any of our midfielders from last season. It was easily where we were losing almost all our matches. When they turned up, they were great but they were only turning up once every 2 months. Hendo or Fabinho would've been better picks than Nunez who, yes, has had a disappointing spell in front of goal, but he is often one of the main reasons why we score goals when he's on the pitch.
Castagne for Fulham has been great. Stepped out whenever he has to fill in for either flank, just unlucky to be behind Antonee Robinson playing his best ever and the same for Kenny Tete.
You know you're an Irish Guy fan when you can literally tell when he drops a video. Though I was expecting you to react to Cooper being replaced by Nuno Esprito
As a Liverpool fan, I can say that I have seen much worse strikers than Nunez play for us, that’s why I’m not frustrated yet as even though he misses, he makes runs to get these chances. Won’t write him off just yet
I'd like to point out 10 men newcastle weren't 10 men when Nunez scored it happened after they went 2-0 down and Pope decided he'd rather miss a final than concede a 3rd goal to Salah
Enzo Fernandez is a generational talent. He is a world class baller. He is the best young footballer in the world right now 😂😂😂. Anyone who disagrees doesn't know ball😂😂😂
Anyways, here a brownie recipe. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan. 2. Melt 1 cup butter, mix with 2 cups sugar. 3. Add 4 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla; mix well. 4. Sift in 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup cocoa, and 1/4 tsp salt; stir. 5. Optional: add 1 cup nuts or chocolate chips. 6. Pour into the pan, bake for 25-30 mins. 7. Cool completely, cut into squares, and enjoy your brownies!
As a Chelsea fan, I'm sick of Mudryk. So many other fans cling to every tiny moment of quality from him and just like to ignore the other 95% of him giving us garbage. I'd rather we kept Pulisic and saved us money.
I genuinely thought that Darwin Nunez had finally turned a corner with his Newcastle heroics and would push on and become a goalscoring machine. He's only scored 2 goals in the league since then. He only slightly makes up for it with 7 assists so far this season, but the amount of big chances he wastes infuriates me. He has been like that ever since he joined. He's a Chelsea striker in a red shirt.
Nunez has almost unlimited potential imo, if he can learn how to more clinical in front of goal, he'll be unstoppable. He already is unstoppable on the pitch, bar his goalscoring - which, unfortunately, is the golden criteria for strikers. However, he's still fairly young, isn't injured a lot, and has the best manager possible to help him continue to grow. In all honesty, people were saying the same things about Suarez during his first 1 ½ seasons, especially during the season he only bagged 11 league goals (Think we finished 8th that season). Nunez could still become a world class baller. Give him time ❤
I’m gonna say it and it is a hot take for Brighton I have to say karou mitoma ever since his destruction of wolves he hasn’t been on that same level of dribbling masterclass I hope he turns it around, I’d have said Danny welbeck but he’s been injured for most of October and November
Waiting for the 3 Chelsea fans who will think an unmarked tap in against newcastle should save Mudryk from the list😂 100mil for arguably the worst end product in the league, next to antony and grealish🗑
I don’t think Mudryk is that bad, he’s sorta a victim of the new system that doesn’t really work. For some reason everything goes down the right and he’s just left on the opposite wing by himself, and he still creates a lot of actually good chances. We just have no one that can finish them.
even the irish guy knows that michael keane and ashley young aren't good, big dyche needs to know that even if tarkowski or branthwaite isn't available, we need to not play keane as cb
As a Palace fan, Joel Ward is 100% the correct pick. He is by far the weakest point of our team. He gets exposed constantly and is the slowest RB is Europe. As a CB, backing up Guehi/Anderson, he would be alright. But he's past his point of starting in the prem anymore.
The ashley young one is cheating it shood be 2023 but current clubs because he isnt a villa player anymore shood of done it like that would of been harder
So we're just gonna shit on Ahmedhodžić after he spent a good month injured. What about the "5 others" in the backline for Sheffield that could've been named?
United should be Sancho. Truly disappointing. Poor work-rate, poor professionalism, was tearing it up in Germany just to disappoint at United after being given chance after chance to prove himself.
Iverson was in no way Leicester's worst player last season. He performed better than Ward. And even then I'd choose either Boubakary Soumare or Luke Thomas instead of either.
