Worst Starts for Every Faction | Total War Warhammer 3 

Opinion about Alberic: he starts out fighting lizardmen and then (probably) vampire coast, but also starts with the ability to start making questing knights/knights of the realm by like turn 4, which are an absolute nightmare for early game lizardmen and vampire coast (unless the lizards spam saurus spears, which they don't). If he plays fast and deathstacks knights as early as possible, he can explode onto the map and get crazy momentum earlier than a lot of other starts. I genuinely think he's pretty solid.

Now that you say it, Heinrich never does leave that mountain, i always find him in the late game surrounded by enemies just chilling, no one is finishing him off for some reason and he is at war with everyone

Snikch certainly isn't easy to start with, but there are some tricks you can pick up on. Considering your primary enemy is going to be Cathay, there are some tactics you need to abuse within your limitations. Assuming you don't luck out on a few early contracts and just get some Ratling Guns by turn 15 without paying 80 morbillion gold for them. Chiefly, skirmish infantry and ambush tactics chew Cathay apart. Jade Warriors will literally never catch Night Runners, and their archers will lose any melee fight with Night Runners. Any cavalry you find will be isolated from harmony, and can get 2:1'd by Night Runners. Your largest threats will be the Siblings Ming, but with a concentration of fire, a Slave tarpit and Snikch Gaming, they can be taken down reasonably enough. Tl;dr Night Runners Night Runners Night Runners Night Runners. On the other hand, Skrolk Do Kinda Be In Anguish from turn 1. He has nerfed plague mechanics (thanks Nurgle), is surrounded by very powerful enemies (Gor'Rok, Tehenauin, Luthor) and has difficult to manage expansion prospects.

Try treating the one lord chaos factions as one singular faction, and pick which of the 5 big chaos bois are best/worst/etc.

5:35 That could be really interesting though. A dwarfen hoard army, which happened to dig to deep and end up in the chaos wastes as a result. The legendary lord goes after the deamon Prince's not because he wants to save ursun, but rather to settle a long standing grudge with belakor. As a result they are very skaven like, opting for ambushes and weapons teams over typical dwarf tactics. Thier main mechanic I'm thinking would be a runic barrier around occupied settlements which prevents deamon units from entering when at max strength, but if it breaks that settlement comes under siege by a deamon army

Honestly Zhao Ming in Grand Cathay just needs a NAP with Ghorst 8n early game and he doesn't have to worry about the west. His Orgre friendships are easy, he doesn't have to fight the hard Chaos factions to the north in the early game and he gets magic Items every fight. I parked him just Sacking the same new minor VC faction's settlement for entirely to long. The only thing hurting him, is that his Capital isn't a Province Capital, because of the Ivory Road and Caravans.

Recruitment cost is increased for the Deathmaster. Which is a lot easier to handle than Upkeep

Honestly for clan Esshin, gutter runners are actually super strong, and especially once they rank up they perform excellently versus most enemies. It can take a bit of time to expand in Cathay though, so I'll give you that.

The worst part of Nakai is that he has a hard limit on his army count, and there's no notifications for if the vassal factions are under attack. Spent about 20 turns plowing into Chaos's lands only to figure out that they painted my damn vassal faction black while I was fighting dozens of dwarf armies in the wastes

Boris' start is actually pretty easy when you ignore the direction the game is pointing you in. If you take your army south instead of north, you can easily crush the Norscan tribes and early game Throgg and start in suitable climate. You will also be making contact with other Kislevite factions much earlier and get them ready for eventual confederation. Once you are all set up, you can swing back up north to deal with the threats there. Just played like this in my last campaign and made it to strength rank 1 really quickly while most order factions were getting destroyed.

I started Nakai the other day and it was fun to not manage a city, I kept focusing one faction down at a time. Beginning is slow but ones you start ramping up I felt like I had a lot of armies

Drycha has it seemingly rough, but it´s actually much easier than you would think. The event in the gryphon forest with the vampires allows you to allly Vlad if you play your card rights. alternatively if you don´t mind going against the lore you can work out a non agression pact with the empire and be declared elector countess of Ostermark´s dilapidated ruins. Whatever you choose to do, Drycha can easily rampage through her enemies with an early dryad doomstack and the rest of the malevolent spirits are so good you won´t miss the knife ears. Vanguard deployment on Tree men, come on. When it comes to taking over Athel Loren I usually wait and build up my forces until Durthu becomes available for confederation. When that finally happens a quick dawi spanking gets you a free foothold in Athel Loren. When you have Durthu and Coeddil there is nothing the other wood elves can do to stop you. It´s not an easy fight, but if you have Durthu you can storm one of the other settlements and make it a very winnable 2V2

Skarnick can destroy Karaz a Karak turn 7 and earlier probably easily and then Waagh to Eight peak very fast. So much better than before.

I think Cylostra has the hardest start for VC. She's a total liability in battle until you get her good spells going. Alith Anar is built to wreck the slow Vampire Coast. Dark Elves, Taurox, the Sisters and soon enough Alarielle are all coming for that ass alongside Eltharion and Tyrion once they kick out the DE and N'Kari. Aranessa can easily roll over Empire, Belegar and Southern Realms with guns and mortars. Ikit will love you for beating up Tilea and Belegar. Aranessa can also get Maneaters at Tier 3 ports and has amazing movement range on the map.

I just wish nakai is able to build outposts.

Good video but a couple of points: I don't think it is efficient to go straight for the badlands as Grom. you kinda wanna eat the donut, starting with Yvresse then just build up a new from that and dominate the high elves. Secondly, I disagree in regards to deathmaster snikch. I think he is by far the most powerful skaven lord, and yes stronger than ikit. the reason for me that tips him over ikit is the fact that you can delete an entire faction with one button, which is just absurd. also, you don't have increased upkeep when it comes to non-eshin units, just increased recruitment cost. another point of strength is that you don't have to worry about loyalty at all with eshin clan, which is a real bother on higher difficulties when playing the other clans. another important point is that the faction's nightrunners and gutterrunners are both armor piercing, they melt armor, so no, later into the campaign they are incredibly relevant and powerful.

They did belegar so dirty. I love him in lore and he is a good lord on his own. The 50% upkeep reduction screwed him over. They should probably balance it out by giving him some buffs for owning the 8 peaks

I played a Nakai campaign to turn 300 and and Heinrich was the number two faction and owned all of the empire and Bretonia

Also malus dark blade? The guy who can get an endgame army and solo armies?? The guy is busted and you really don't need to use the potions as much as you think as having some diplomatic ability with your neighbors allows you to beat up your neighbors your at your own pace.

Volkmar is better if you make a b-line for Manfred and take him out by turn 8 Gelt has to fight vamps, ogres, hyper aggressive wood elves and at least 1 dwarf faction Also the stupid fealty mechanic is broken when festus, Vlad and norsca rip through the empire

Khazarak is so mid you might lose him, vs malagor, and morghur who not are hard to lose due to early flight or rgene, losing a legendary beast lord is really harsh early for beastmen.

Eltharion should straight up be changed so that his mists affect all his lands, or he gets to choose where to spawn, either on the crusade in the badlands or on the donut. Of course the guy who starts halfway across the world is right next to the donut's biggest threat, thats being N'kari, who upon being defeated usually means constant attacks from Norscans and Be'Lakor who seem to have nothing to do but invade wherever the player starts above the middle of the map.

OK so if you treated all the demons as one faction, who would have it worst, Daniel, Kugath, Skarbrand, big bird, or the pink one?

Actually for Mannfred, his start works out handy enough. Only Skarbrand gives you any trouble.

Save scumming Nakai is literally the only way to play when you're as dumb and aggressive off the bat as me.

Personally I think that the Sisters of Twilight have a harder start than Drycha. Taurox immediately, Morathi and Maliketh rapidly moving in to claim territory, a clan of Skaven of to the side. The Sisters while strong have no friends and a real dismount on properly starting to heal the Witchwood or you miss it.

I am an avid dawi player. Grombrindal is the hardest starting location. And it's not even close. His only to potential "allies" are the wood elves and tomb king and we all know katehpt is just a liability. He is surrounded by enemies. Norsca, dark elves everywhere, Torox, clyostra. It's not a fun time

You gotta at least talk about the single LL factions (All demons). Are they difficult or are they easy to you? Personally they are hard as hell to me starting out.

Hard disagree with Boris. Bash some chaos and then sail across the sea and take over the norscan lands east of Kraka Drak. Ally and help the dwarves and your flank is pretty safe. Then go on a murder spree and cash in from all the chaos, Norsca and Skaven loot... It's way more fun than Kostaltyn or Katarina

Katarina has a way harder start than boris. Her army sucks and she can have 4 or 5 factions declare war on her including throgg azazel and the mutant skaven whose name eludes me right now by turn 10.

Turn 204 playing as Thorek and occupied almost half the map and Kemmler is still in his starting position lmao

Worst start. After watching all of ItalianSparticus' videos about the LLs ranked worst to best I know that "best" and "worst" is subjective. Especially with him putting Reponse as number 1 for Bretonnia while here she's last, and for Dark Elves he put Lokhir at last while while here it's Malus. It's all a matter of opinion and this video shows it, and his opinion that the Vampire Counts are actually a good faction when any ranged and anti large armies like Skaven or Dwarfs can easily cast them aside.

so worst =/= weak some ppl like challenge and those worst are the best starts for them for me worst starts are the most boring one like not much variety in enemies , low number of play styles , can't make many units strong or stuck in one location cause u can expand in only one direction things like these

I have play Khazrak multiple times on immortal empires and he is one of the easiest starts

I played Belegar and didn't know I was supposed to rush Eight Peaks. So I landed near Ekrund, took it and started expanding. Most grinding campaign ever. Because I could afford only one decent army, Orcs and random Beastmen would raze my settlements wherever Belegar wasn't. The amount of times I lost and reclaimed a settlement was infuriating. Of course his army was super OP but after a while it became a boring back and forth and auto-resolving until Karak Eight Peaks was taken. Can't say I enjoyed it. I though I would roleplay Balin's colony to Moria, but all I got was a grindy minmaxing challenge run.

I really don't get how anyone has trouble with nakai. He's braindead easy fun. "If your army gets wiped out" How? You're in an area where you can just outstat every opponent you have and get massively ahead of the curve with way higher quality units. You get both types of Kroxigors at tier 3, as well as 20% upkeep reduction from buildings. (Absolutely cracked in autoresolve) Surrounded by factions that just have infantry until tier 4-5, and you don't even need to stick around until they DO get strong enough to fight back. (Cathay if you felt like being a menace) You can just leave and go over to Lustria. Unite with your fellow Lizardmen and roll over the continent, after you clear out two weak factions of undead and finish chasing down the last of the Blessed Dread. The most annoying thing about Defenders of the Great Plan sucking is losing tiers of your Temples for a few turns, as you should be making more than enough money from fighting and using celestial beneficence to just keep rolling. All on VH/VH minimum

Single player or not, if I die I still restart. I am not knocking how others chose to have fun, but for me the joy and sense of accomplishment comes from overcoming difficulty not just cheesing a mechanic. So if I fail oh well I take a loss and go again and try and do better. Doing the right thing when no one is watching means more than doing it when someone is watching over your shoulder making sure you do it.

Tomb Kings utterly are trash on higher difficulty they are just painful to play there liche priests are useless they need a rework and should be more like necromancers from vampire counts they should be able to buff and heal there troops around them and there mount sucks it should be replaced with the necroserpent and something else like a corpse cart also the total bs that the skeleton troops have for stats is insane 35 leadership then they crumble there undead they should have high leadership there not afraid to die and supposed to be loyal beyond death ive litterally had 4 entire armies made up of these crap soldiers get wiped out by 1 army from another faction who cares if there free if there shit and you lose the game before you can start getting more than one army with anything that can kill anything
