I didn't see it before it stung me, then I caught a glimpse of it before it flew off, and I just ran in case there were others close, hand was throbbing. (social wasps secrete an attack pheromone that signals the rest of the colony to attack. A literal target painted on you. So if there were other members of the colony close, they would give chase and try to sting as well.)

@@sunfloweresprit1469 i was walking into my bedroom and something 'stung' the bottom of my foot. I ran out of my room HOWLING and sat in the hallway. Mom poked fun at me saying it sounded like I was losing my foot but we live in an area where both black widows and brown recluse territories overlap and I wanted to make sure I got help IMMEDIATELY just in case it was a spider bite and not a wasp sting. It turned out to have been a mud dauber but better safe than sorry.

I just wanna say that Coyote is one of the bravest man on earth to put himself through pain to tell us what it's like and why we should watch from a safe distance and not mess around with wasps hornets etc. And there are still people saying he fakes the reactions or he is overreacting but they forgot that everyone feels pain from bugs differently. So thanks Brave wilderness for letting us understand and know more about these bugs and keep up the good work!

I got the impression that he was already planning to do the hornet episode after the warrior wasp (the executioner wasp was an unexpected encounter, after all) and just decided to still go ahead with the hornet afterwards so people wouldn't keep on at him about it. He just aired it before the executioner wasp so that, from an episode order POV, this actually IS the final sting. XD
