Worst To Best Halo Flying Levels in EVERY Halo Game 

I can clearly remember my first play through of Halo Reach and being completely mesmerized by the flying sequence in Long Night of Solace. One of my absolute favorite Halo moments of all time. I've replayed that part at least a dozen times over the years

Why does it feel like even 16 years later people aren’t really aware of how easy it is to blow the back off the Halo 3 scarabs? The hornets make that section of The Covenant a breeze every time…

Never knew I needed these types of tier lists but I really love them, can't wait for when you compare flood levels.

New Alexandria would’ve been so much better with a fully functional Pelican, but the Falcon is great too and I wish it was included in Infinite.

I just love halo 2 phantom design so much, I wish it would make a return. Just love the idea of a ship with three auto turrets just firing hella plasma at everything! Especially when it’s an ally!

Long Night of Solace has to be the best level of all of these. Going from Reach to Orbit in a space shuttle inspired launching sequence into a dogfight style arena to deliver a payload onto a Covenant Corvette has got to be the best selling point for any level, ever. It's fun, infinitely replayable, gripping and varied. Sure, it's not randomised like New Alexandria, but just the story beats that go with the level alone bump it up.

I'm not sure if you've done this one or not but: I'd like to see you talk about the Halo Wars only vehicles and discuss which ones would be good to bring into a FPS Halo game

you forgot about the pelican in halo infinite before the patch, you can get it very very early if you do a glitch with the grapple tricks (if your a speedrunner) or banshee in later lvls (and leaving and joining back into the save) it is fun to play with it but its not invincible (but sadly its patched now, they left the scorpion tail gun in the game but not the pelican)

Once in the covenant, I gave my 20% spartan laser to an odst and ge followed my like the whole level. Odst with a s.laser in a hornet is pretty good.

While it didn't feel as close to traditional halo gameplay I actually really enjoy the Sabre and broadsword segments. I've played other flight games, could be a little bias

This just unlocked some memories of glitching Halo Reach to get the Falcon on Winter Contingency, and I think remember once pulling of the trick on Tip of the Spear to get that Falcon too. Great video!

Something I noticed on Halo Reach. When you are trying to get the pelican, if you kick the marines off of the falcon and make it so they cant get back in and go get the pelican, if you go back to the marines (if they're still alive) they will get into the pelican whether it be the gun or in the passenger seats.

Man I remember playing infinite and grabbing a banshee and flying around to those objectives. Definitely the most unique halo campaign besides halo wars. I should replay the campaign sometime

I think New Alexandria is the best flying level in all of Halo so far. It's just so fantastic. Amazing feeling, amazing setting, amazing aesthetics, amazing easter eggs, and amazing music. It's just a 10/10 in my opinion. Probably one of my favorite Halo levels to date.

My favorite level is when you swing around like Spider-Man through the streets on Manhattan

You forgot Assault on the controol room from halo CE. There is a platform high up with a banshee on it in the outside canyon where the hunters are located. If you're fast enough, you can shoot the banshee off the platform with a SPNKR before an elite spawns and enters the banshee. The banshee will fall to the ground and you can pilot it and fly it for a significant portion of the level.

I don’t know if they ever fixed it, but I always had an issue in infinite where I take like 3 shots at a banshee and the pilot just bails, alive…

In tip of the spear, you can hijack a hanshee in the final part, to the top of the spire. I personally use my jetpack to reach out to grab one.

Play Co-op in Halo 3's The Covenant mission and paradrop your allies onto the scarabs from the hornet. Then swoop in at the last second and pick them up before the scarab blows.

Shutdown is a beautiful work of art made playable

in two betrayals you can take the banshee and fly back into the control room and all the way to the bottom of the pit. it is possible to exit the banshee there too (without dying)

Fun fact on halo reach alex mission: if you gonna get the pelican/phantom you could leave the marine out of the falcon and let them stay there while you're getting the pelican / phantom (i prefer pelican because one of the marine can get to the back and you have little marine on the back).

The Begining of Midnight is still my favorite, probably due to the fact that it very much resembles the Trench Run from Star Wars

i remember in reach in new Alexandria me and a friend got marines inside the pelican and phantom and they can shoot the turrets as well so it was super kewl

It's funny that there's too few flying levels or flying sections and yet it feels like you take too much time while flying. It may be because of long distances which are obviously longer on foot, or maybe because I often kill all or most enemies before moving forward.

Halo CE has the best flying levels and not only that! It has the best banshee’s (almost hovering on the spot and being able to land them instead of jumping out , and what feels like pressing the boost slightly while jumping out.) Also halo CE made you fight and travel the land that yoeeeeu could later fly over which made it extra rewarding.

Since this is about flying levels (and therefore flying vehicles), I think its sad how the Banshee has felt progressively worse to use as Halo has continued. CE gives you access to 2 powerful weapons, lets you drop at will, lets you fly at max speed AND fire at the same time, gives you access to both weapons at the same time, and even lets you float in mid-air by backing up! Everything that made the CE Banshee so good to use gets gutted eventually. The boost and tricks are nice and all, but the boost just forces you to choose between moving fast or shooting and having any maneuverability. Tricks are okay for dodging rockets in multiplayer, but this is both difficult to pull off and completely useless in campaign.

Long Night of Solace was a pretty neat mission, but not my favorite. New Alexandria however was one of my top favorite missions of Halo Reach

Here's a nice extra detail Bungie threw in that 343 might not have known about or didn't feel necessary to bring over to the MCC version which is in the mission Long Night Of Solace specifically the Sabre section Bungie gave you full control of the Sabres roll. By holding Right Bumper and using the left analog stick pushing it left and right you can freely roll whilst using Left Bumper continues to activate barrel rolls and flips basically evasive maneuvers. To this day ill boot up this mission and just free fly around Anchor 9 utilizing the roll to squeeze through the crazy mess of frigate parts it's mainly comprised of. To my knowledge, this doesn't work in MCC but definitely still works on the backward-compatible version. I was hoping when you got to Long night of solace you'd be the first RU-vidr to mention this but it's fine not many people know of it or think it is substantial enough to be mentioned. Edit you can still roll in MCC my controls were just different so the roll was inaccessible.
