For this Ranking Tier List I will be sharing my thoughts on all the currently playable protagonist characters within Capcom popular Resident Evil franchise.

Because I have always hated the idea of RE becoming a first person shooter. That was the reason I didnt play RE8 until the gold edition allowed you to play in 3rd person.

@@3TopicsReviewer I mean, RE7 is not a shooter, it's a survival horror with shooting in it. The reason they make it first person is because it's more immersive and makes it much scarier. I would really give it a try, I don't know why being in first person is such a turn off. What about it is so unappealing?

@@redmilk2861 Its cool man I've seen enough of that game to know I wouldn't like it and thats ok. I'm glad others enjoy but I'm more of an action fan anyway and once they added a 3rd person perspective of RE8 that allow the game to be playable for me.

I'm sorry my first RE game was 4. The first time I discovered Chris was in 5 and I really despise the first 3 original games. Chris is a fantastic character, but if I had to choose, I'm picking Leon every time.

@@3TopicsReviewer Same here, even my First Game was RE4 which I played in 2014 maybe. Then RE5 in 2016 and so on... But still, Chris is GOAT as well alongside Leon. There's now way, Chris is behind Leon. But then ok let it be, it's your Choice.

I'm not doing anything. I have never liked the idea of RE becoming a FPS. Its always been at its best in 3rd person. That's the very reason I refused to play RE8 until the gold edition gave you the option to play in 3rd person.

@@coda8525 Its cool man trust me. I have watched a 3 hour long playthru of that game and could tell that it would not have been a game I enjoyed. I'm happy alot of people liked it but that game just wouldn't work for me.

I feel like you putting Ethan up over Jake is an insult. Personally we need to see Sheva, Josh, Sherry, and Jake in the new game, especially since Ethan's already dead. And I wish they haven't killed off Piers. I'd rather have Piers in a new game than Ethan.

I don't feel its an insult its simply that we have seen very little of Jake and even thou there is just so much potential for his character I feel Capcom will never use him again while Ethan has had two games to develop as the lead and again given his background as just a regular civilian he has survived things that only top tier RE survivors should be able to handle.

@@3TopicsReviewer True. Except that Ethan looks like he belongs in Silent Hill. Also I don't know why they refuse to officially show his face. If they haven't killed off Piers, RE7 & 8 would be a lot more different. Also, even though I know you didn't play RE7, there's an RE7 protagonist who can beat up the infected with his bare fists. His name's Joe Baker.

@@marcusrienien3353 LOL wow as someone who has never played a Silent Hill game that comment was actually good. I think your right he would fit perfectly in that franchise and your also right that following Piers or Jake would've been the best choice of characters to follow the events of RE6. They could still change the tone of game and make feel more horror but keep progressing this new generation of protagonist instead of allows going back to the legends.
