A top trim Escalade, Navigator, or Yukon Denali all cost the same and will all be on a used car lot in 5 years with a check engine light on….for 30 grand. The Land Cruiser will just be breaking in.
Good video 👍🏽 I disagree with you on the roof rack! Love it! It says "I'm a off road beast!" " Go anywhere " "do almost anything " "iconic off-road namplate" Very nice! 👌🏾 Congratulations
Agree @@TRDJon. I took mine off mostly so that I could park in my garage and avoid the wind noise but they could have used a better rack. option. Even something similar to the TRD Pros would have been nice.
Looking back at this and knowing these are still going for $80k, might have actually been the cheapest vehicle to own over these last 3 years with that kind of residual/resale value.
How are you feeling about that $90k three years later vs what a Tacoma runs you these days? 3.5 years in with the identical model right down to the 3rd row and I never notice the wind noise from the rack but always have XM on the radio. Only complaint I have is the worn Dunlop tires with only 18,000 miles on the ODO.
Looking to upgrade the wire's TRD Pro 4Runner in the next year but man I just don't know what it will be. Would love to see a newer smaller LC type like the Prado. Something with good power and fuel efficiency would be nice. Right now our only option looks like the 6th gen 4Runner or a possible revamped GX. I'd love to see a new GXOR with a V8 or TTV6.
Toyota pulled the FJ Cruiser and the Land Cruiser from the US. Give us one back. I need a new vehicle since I gave my daughter my FJ Cruiser. I would buy a LC if more reasonably priced.
Its a great vehicle but not for 90k. OMG you could almost get 2 TRD pros for that price or at least 2 4runner premiums. Buy one get one free or buy one for the spouse. I would rather take 2 4runners over 1 Landcruiser. 1 4runner for the week and the other for the weekend
I still can’t wrap my brain around dropping 90K and having the Land Cruiser as a daily… way too big and fuel cost will just be brutal. In my case, it will be best utilized as an overland vehicle with proper modes. ✌️🍁
@@TRDJon Compared to what a G wagon goes for at nearly double the price, its actually not too bad. While a good vehicle, a 4Runner in any trim is not in the same class of "refined luxury offroad exclusivity".
Nothing Lasts forever eh! with that price point competition will be stiff, most people in that price range won't be doing Overlanding! its a proper off roader for sure, just wondering where the tow hooks are located? I bet your gonna miss it greatly!
I myself have a 17 TRDPRO in Cement that I love ❤️ but when I heard the LC was going away I searched for one and even though it was an arm and a leg I wanted one because we wouldn’t see the in the US ever again.Do I regret paying so much?#Nope
That rack came with the truck?? That has to be a dealer-installed POS. Yakima/Thule/etc none of those are real roof racks. Take that junk off there. Put a real one on or leave it off. And yeah, the 200 is a big fat lazy thing. It's off road prowess is let down by the IFS which is made of tin some say. Great review.
i saw few Land cruiser 300 videos and man twin turbo make huge difference, Toyota basically killed land cruiser and they have to be blamed not sale , reason as you said overpriced and other hand Toyota Sequoia , Toyota Sequoia actually distorted Land Cruiser market .. if they want Land Cruiser back in action they must kill Sequoia .
After owning a number of 4Runner from 3 - 5th gens including TRD Pros, there's just no comparison. IMO, the LC is a better vehicle in nearly every way.
As I’m considering a replacement rig for my 4R, it’s becoming more and more apparent how out of date Toyota is. Aside from monster dependability, assuming your going to keep it as long as it will last, things like 360 cameras (bronco), better MPG’s (jeep 392 on 37’s 16mpg’s), more gears (just about any other suv) etc. I am truly hopeful that when the 6 gen 4R comes out it at least has some of the basics in modernization. Otherwise, if all it has going for it is the dependability, the used Toyota will be a the best Toyota to buy.
Agreed. Not sure why this LC can only achieve 15 mpg vs a big jeep Hemi on 37’s. It does have 360 camera at least, but it’s still a dull system and the quality is not the best. I’m sure the bronco will be reliable to an extent. Those ecoboost motors are very decent.
Still a very handsome SUV. Don’t like the roof rack (don’t like the the one on the new TRD 4Runners either but JMO). I can’t believe these things run $80-90K though. This seems at max. a $65K truck.
