It's brilliant bike, but I'd be afraid to lay it over on a track day. Unfortunately some of these ltd Ducs are bought as an art piece and are never ridden properly...like the Superleggera.
Great bike, but no, not worth it... as said in comments below, they're releasing too many, 'SpECiAL eDiTiON' Ducatis. It takes the exclusivity out of it. I'd rather have a V4S and option it from there, but even then, those are 34k+ (USD) out the door. I'm glad this V4 hype is here though, because it allowed me to pick up a sub-3k mile 2016 1299S for literally half that.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 frickin hilarious , typed in ducati v4sp & his scantily clad girlfriend is sprawled over his thumbnails , fair play to them , sad but honest living he's making & I'm sure he doesn't have to wake up & entertain bullshit work Monday to Friday
@@gixxis3264 haha yep, he knows what he’s doing and he knows his audience. I made the same comment about the new Ducati Lamborghini Streetfighter and sure enough Campisi announced he got one. 😅
worth it aftermarket carbon wheels alone are like 4k the dry clutch is also another 3k just those 2 alone you already gap the v4s price difference you still get extra carbon bits rizoma footpegs and upgrade to the master cyclinder and caliper not to mention dda/gps mirrow and plate delete kit and 520 chain and sproket drivetrain you cant upgrade the v4s to the v4sp spec with only 7.5k
@motobob I think one thing missing from your channel is the sound of each bike as it initially starts and how it sounds while riding without any commentating. Whether the intro or outro of your videos would be a BIG plus one for your channel. Just a thought. Have a great day aye.
I’m disappointed that the main question you have about this bike is is it worth the money this isn’t something that’s talked about in the car world of course it’s worth the money if you can’t afford it just say you can’t it’s OK you don’t have to trash the bike and say it’s not worth it so many experts just shut up and enjoy
got the v4sp do think its a lovely bike , but only done 800 miles on it roll on the good weather , trying to see if Ducati has a university to get my head round the settings on this bike 🤦♂️sometimes I miss my fire blade rrp simple you just had to be good to drive it
It’s a beautiful machine but just a few years back that was a year salary for me and my family. and I love their motorcycles wish I could buy another one. I love this one. owner of a 2015 diavel carbon. Ducati has lost their mind on pricing
I don't think it's worth it. Alot of the extras are way overpriced and won't add any value. For instance, rear sets most track riders will replace those. Samething with the levers. Also, V4 SP2 won't be available until Q42022. A better option is the V4 S, add carbon fiber bits, the low Akro exhaust, dry clutch and you are good to go. that's what I'm doing this summer.
I love Ducati. I’ve a few of their bikes. A 998s fe, 1299 r final edition and a v4 sp. My issue is the sheer amount of ‘special edition’ bikes they are releasing in all areas. So many models being updated every year. I remember a final edition or special model was a big deal. It all just seems like such a yearly thing now meaning less and less ‘true’ value every year. These v4 sp bikes. They are making 1,500 a year. And I’ve heard from a good source there will be an sp v4 now for 5 years (so sp2, sp3, sp4, sp5) meaning there will be 7,500 of them globally. and we have stupid Lamborghini tie In bikes being sold on eBay by official Ducati dealers for more than retail (1 mile bikes being moved between dealers as ‘used’, I investigated and emailed Ducati hq and got a lame answer on that one). It’s all a big scam atm imo. I’m actually more excited about getting my name in for a Yamaha r1m this year in the uk. Genuinely only a handful coming to the uk and it’s something different for me. Not knocking Ducati but the whole excitement of a limited edition model or special build is diluted with the sheer amount of models and units they produce. They slap a new seat colour or decal on something or black out the engine and charge another £35,000 for it next year. I actually just cancelled two orders with my local Ducati dealer and will get different bikes now from another company. I blame the vw group.
I totally agree with your assessment. I love Ducati, was able to tour their Bologna Museo and it was fantastic. I've had a few as well. The SP2 is absolutely another marketing gimmick. You can't take them seriously anymore and in my opinion Ducati are catering towards a different buyer now. It used to be that you got a R homologated Superbike because it meant something. Now the people that buy the "special edition" bikes have no idea what they actually represent or even ride track/enjoy the sport (watch WSBK/MotoGP). Its just about flexing/social media clout. Its quite disappointing. I recently purchased the KTM RC8C and I had the opportunity to meet quite a lot of diehard Ducati owners at Jerez along with the KTM MotoGP Test team and they were blown away at the RC8C delivery experience when compared to Ducati. Perhaps have a look in that direction. The other place I've been getting my bikes is now: gpmotorbikes.com/inventory. For the amount of money that Ducati wants for their "special editions" you can start to scratch at getting legitimate Moto3 or even previous era Moto2 bikes. Pure race bikes with incredible history/pedigree. Something truly special.
@@vtranmoto brilliant post mate. I was concerned I was looking like I was trolling but I wasn’t. Im just getting more than a little tired with how Ducati operate. I’ll pop down to our local ktm dealer and see what they have in the next month or so.
Lovely bike but not as special as the V4R which has bespoke engine and suspension. This is much more just a V4S with the accessory catalog thrown at it. However not as expensive as the V4R so put in the context of a standard production range topper it works.
7:47 Simple add up all the goodies offered and then try and put them on the V4S compare. Off the top of my head id say it is worth it. But I haven't done the data entry.
I'd personally take the RSV4 factory over this , rsv4 is alot of bike for the money i could get a 2nd hand rsv4 factory , superduke 1290r & spend money on little customisations here & there on both bikes & still have change
Build number - but not limited edition. Still think a Speciale looks better and actually produces more BHP! It's another money making project from Ducati
Love this bike but it really needed to be 1000cc. Can't call yourself some top of the line racing bike and yet be illegal to qualify for WSBK because your engine is too big
I guess their are enough millionaires out there to drop 33 grand on a track weapon and an additional 5 grand for an exhaust. Then again if that’s what being a distinguished gentleman is then who am I to judge.
FAO MotoBob... Thinking out aloud... Would love to see Amazon Prime do a motorbike version of the Grand Tour headed by Richard Hammond and MotoBob. Touring the world and setting ridiculous but entertaining challenges, bike reviews, history of bikes etc would in my opinion be a hit show for sure!
They are worth what people will pay …if they sell them then that’s great for Ducati and the same goes to any other manufacturer selling specials etc ….but what I do find hilarious is massively overweight lumps buying them and then going on about their track times and how 2grams of carbon fibre made the difference in the tight bends on track …just imagine how quick they would be if they left the pies alone ?? 😁
Doesn’t matter. Some dude or girl will still buy it just for social media purposes. Like when a instagrammer i saw bought the new ZX-10RR, a literal race team bike, and sits at red lights in skinny jeans and vans shoes and rev bombs beside an R1M for likes. Like what the **** is wrong with people. Absolutely ZERO benefits getting the RR over the regular zx-10 for street use. And still they buy it. Ducati will sell these out.
I have the SP and I like the winglets better. Same used in WSB, I think they 'skimped' on this SP2 rendition. But, I DO like the new dash layout! - BTW, my first clutch only lasted 4500 miles!!!- and it's in the shop needing new one - (No clutch wheelies here, always just on power...but dry clutches with slipper plates just have shorter lives when ridden aggressively says, check that box!!...and warranty does NOT cover...expect to fork out $$ for this garage queen!!)
When you compare to the BMW M1000RR is priced competitively but when you look at the Norton Motorcylces V4SV the reported price tag of £44,000 is delusional. Who will pay almost £10,000 over the cost of this Ducati or the BMW for a bike with a toxic backstory and a brand owner who walks away from owners of the V4SS....
It would be a great year if I were to spend $35K on new motorcycles; but it would amost certainly be three bikes at around $11.5K apiece.😘 Or maybe 2 at $17.5K. I can think of many bikes available for $12K that I would rather have than a Ducati V4.🤪 And many, many more for $17.5K🤣.
Bad arse but not for that much coin. Ducati has some reasonably priced bikes but this is not one of them. Would not mind taking her for a hot lap around Goodwood.
Nothing new 100 year old high rev tirsy engine !!do we have 2022 or 1980? this bike could be good in 1980 but now we expecting new tech, not old crap engine!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a track bike, it’s not street legal. You won’t be able to register this for road use, so stop with the silly can I commute on this bike comments…
