An update to Nikke's Verdict after thinking through the gacha rates in comparison to other games like Star Rail and Genshin on my Star Rail review (it's an 8/10 now). Your comments have helped me see the truth behind Genshin's monetization and it's a lot worse than I remember.
I have pretty cracked characters as a f2p but man ima be honest this game got boring real quick . Not hating just my opinion . I always come back every now and then tho just for the hell of it lol
Good on you. It's got a great story that's actually been well-worth my time, especially the current Dorothy event that apparently has the entire fanbase up in flames in the feels right now. At least it isn't FGO. XD
Love this game so much, first gacha game that i went full F2P but still managed to obtain all characters. Well I don't care about mlb all of my Nikke, as long as i had many of them to play with. Besides that, i don't understand about why this game have worst gacha system. But in my experience, i keep getting ssr between 10 to 25 pull, they key is to know when is the right time to pull. so every banner coming up, i just unlock her, then save up for next banner. Hey it's work on me for some reason.
Yeah, it's a bit of an older video now, and I've since seen a lot more gachas as well. Definitely think the gacha system for Nikke isn't too bad in comparison to most other games (it's surprisingly decent in terms of SSR rates and far better than Genshin/Star Rail's rates any day)
been playing the game for a long time now,i still enjoy it a lot,the only thing i think players might not like are the levell walls (160 wall) which makes you feel like you do not progress for a while,but besides that i think everything else is pretty well made and seeing the % on pulling an ssr character really makes the game look free to play frioendly,i got almost every ssr availabe with 0 $ spent on the game
it pretty much is ftp friendly,there are some moments where every player gets stuck no matter if you put money or not and you can always progress at your own pacecthe only thing that makes you worse than ptw players is the pvp and its not important at all,some characters (pilgrims) are hard to get so byung extra pulls would definetly help but sooner or later you will get them,i got 6/7 maybe in less than a year of playing. start it brotha and see how it goes@@dragondev8291
Early game gives really good amounts of premium currency from the story quests hiding in one of the buttons at the top right of the main menu. And with its 4% SSR rate from what I recall, yes, it's definitely more generous than your usual gacha. Also, free SSR at the start if I recall correctly. Bit of an older review that I do have to update someday. now that I've played a lot more gacha games. My impressions of the game have fortunately improved a lot in recent months. :)
Nikke is the only game thats kept me around. What is unmentioned about their pity is that you keep the tickets forever...and can use them when you wish. Meanwhile I'm about to quit HSR because the banner time isn't going to be long enough for F2P to come close to the actual pity without playing 24/7. Been playing for weeks and pulling everything and still have only the guaranteed 5 star.
That's a very good point with the tickets for sure, terribly sorry I wasn't clear enough. A 4% total SSR pity does actually make up for the 200 hard pity for the banner character with other SSRs, which does feel a lot better F2P-wise now that I look back on it. It's still not good for specific SSRs, but it's great if you're happy with what the gacha provides (which I am very much so). From experience as I described, I got 5 SSRs in a row from the free player goodies (that number changed to 7 while I was editing the video too). The only predatory side of the monetization is if you want specific Nikke (like me wanting Pilgrim units) and have terrible luck with those. I'll be reviewing Star Rail sometime soon as well, and I'll be sure to mention re-rolling as a must, as with other Horniverse games. Must've lucked out a bit too hard when I got spooked by Seele while Trailblazer still remains my one true sub DPS with the baseball bat. I almost forgot the Bailu I rolled was the guaranteed 50 roll SSR too and I only have 2 SSRs. Gacha's worse overall on Star Rail unless you're blessed by the gacha gods. Getting a guaranteed unit does takes about maximum 180 rolls total if you fail 50%, which is 20 less than Nikke, but at least the overall 4% SSR roll rate compared to the 1% in Star Rail/Genshin feels far better.
Getting to the stage where fan service becomes less and less appealing is wild. Hit me with a wave of old age when I realised I can't watch any of the harem and ecchi shows I engaged with so much as a younger teen anymore. Ain't even that old barely 20 lol. Anyways game looks great, but those gacha rates sound absolutely cruel.
Definitely feeling that same hit with harem anime for sure. I tend to prefer more straightforward romcom these days with a clear pairing. The gacha rates for Nikke are actually not too bad compared to other games, I just whaled a little too much on games like Genshin and hadn't been treated nearly as well by a game like Nikke to recognize it.
@@dragondev8291 If you save up for the character you want, yes. They give a lot of currency for clearing story missions initially but still good to plan ahead. Or alternatively reroll.
