Wow... thank you for testing these out. I would've purchased them too had I not seen your video first. I really appreciate your indepth dive into them.... you're honest and that's definitely appreciated!
Those cake watercolors made me laugh so hard irl LOL. I looked up from what I was working on like right after they had dried and was like, oh boy. those are something. You're right though the case is pretty cute though! Thx for always posting these!! Also I love your long videos! It makes it easier to work when I don't have to keep changing vids haha
Please do the 5 Below Challenge. You can maybe make it for a mixed media artwork. Thanks for giving alternatives then the trashy watercolor set. How do you feel about the Prang Watercolors?
I bought a pack of watercolor brushes, they're not too bad for the price, pretty soft but i did have a head fall off so I had to clamp that back down. Thanks for the watercolor review! I've been wondering about those.
Maybe I'm easy to please, but I've been painting postcard size watercolors on the 5 Below HQ 300gsm paper, and I like the results. I mostly use Job Lot Phoenix watercolors and, ocassionally, Winsor & Newton Cotman colours. When I started painting I didn't want to invest too much in case I lost interest. But after painting for a couple of years, and producing a few hundred watercolors, I think it's time I explore some higher quality materials.
I have some notebooks from 5 below, from vietnam, and they are great, but when I went back last year to get some more (I use fountain pens to write poetry) all they had was india paper, and it was terrible. The dollar store has also switched to india, and so has walmart, though they have a few notebooks, higher priced, that come from vietnam. Cool review, cool channel. You are a cute person, I hope you have a great week.
Having bought 5Below watercolors before, you are 110% dead on about how chalky they are. I also got the 14-color cake set for a casual watercolor workshop and they were unusable. I wound up ditching them to use school grade Crayola watercolors and got a better result. I've also bought some of their DIY framed paint your own watercolor kits and the paints that come with those are super chalky as well, though I think the color has a bit more saturation to them. I have the watercolor pad too and loved your comments on it too.
Mine looks a little bit just a smidgen brighter than that got the 38 cake set 🤔 but I wish the color was a bit more pigmented, they definitely could be better but for the price not bad I guess. The tubes were atrocious!! for a little relaxing it's not bad (don't get the tubes). The paper I think I'll get another one from a craft store when I'm done with the current one I have it's not bad but feel like it warps too quickly. I don't know anything about watercoloring it's just something I'm starting cause I thought it would be fun. So take my opinion with a grain of salt 😂😂
