Today I'm with my Dad at the Summerlin Savers here in Las Vegas. The store was quite busy and expensive, but we managed to find a few items to pop into our cart. I was excited to find some pieces similar to treasures I all ready have in my inventory and will show you in my haul! I have my Thrifting Vegas Blanket and my reuseable shopping bags ready, so Thrift with me and learn what to bolo and what to leave on the shelf, and why. I am sooo sorry about your Mom. I only had my Mom for such a short time. I was only 28 and my Mom was only 55. Sometimes I hear myself laughing, and I hear my Mom. It makes me smile.👩‍👧

Hi Tiffany, I’m so happy that your Dad is with you! I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for him and my heart breaks for him. 💔. I hope it’s healing to be around you and your energy because it’s so much like your mother’s! It’s is so nice you have each other. It was also fun seeing Jake’s 4-man push-up! That looks really hard, and he and his group did really well! And thank you for lovingly showing all of your sweet fur babies… they are so sweet! I lost my Mom back in October 2022, and I shed a few tears last night as I commented on a video about how kids don’t appreciate their parents’ stuff. I luckily had the opportunity to curate her stuff and ask her questions about where things came from and why they’re important to her. I grew up in poverty, so she didn’t have beautiful glass or anything, but every cereal box giveaway, every new clearance item (Halloween, Christmas, Easter decoration, crafting item, etc.) went into her collection. I was surprised at how much I made from selling her stuff! But, what I’ll remember the most are the stories she told about things going on around the time of her getting items, out the people with her, or how it reminded her of a story from her childhood. I learned so much about her then!

Broken objects and high prices at Savers are often not conducive to great shopping experiences! I was happy you persevered and found some nice things. Blessings to you and your dad. My mom, mum, as you say, is gone from the Earth, too, but remains a strong force in my heart and soul. My dad is no longer with me, you and your two precious children are fortunate to have your dad and their granddad with you to share your love and lives. I love Bear and Rio's synchronized head tilts. They made LOL! I had a German Shepherd/Chow mix. She looked like a GS, but was the size of a Chow. She was the best girl ever. I lost her just after I lost my dad in 2012. Miss her so much! Now I have a beautiful Norwegian Forest Cat. He's a great company and an even better cuddler. 🙂

I have been keeping you in my prayers Tiffany I know how hard it is to lose one of your parents, I lost my Dad two years ago. You miss them every day. I am glad you have your husband to help you through your grief my husband passed years ago also he had canser. I do have a dog LOL and my kids are all grown and living there own lives. Glad your father is getting out and about, my heart goes out to you. I lost my mother right after hurricane Harvey hit our small town Rockport on the Texas coast. It will always be a heartbreaker but we'll be reunited one of theses days. Now Savers is really a strange store so many items chipped and over priced. Anyway have a good day!

I would touch up those screws with gold Rub and Buff, gold paint or even nail polish. If you are replacing the screws again, a bit of wood glue on the screw threads will help them hold. And a bit of your mineral oil to give the box a low gloss sheen would be pretty, too!

Cobalt blue is my favorite! Normally the inexpensive vases are about $1 at my thrift store. I like to add a big bunch of flowers and give for birthday gifts or for someone who's ill. Of course I have my own collection, too, which I like to display with milk glass.

Just use the gold/brass color Rub 'n Buff on the screw heads and along both sides of the hinges if needed. No need to buy new screws. I keep all colors of Rub 'n Buff handy for various metal repairs.
