She's so F2P friendly. Just got my best Abyss times using her in a freeze team. Just the worst Tenacity set you could ever imagine and a Thrilling Tales and she's set for life. Now I can't wait for Nilou to come back.

Or you could’ve just have more damage, killing enemy before they kill you. as the old say “the best defense is a good offense” I’ve never seen anyone reset 20 times on the abyss before but hey, it is within the realm of possibility and if comfort is something anyone seek, then more power to them.

Another problem Mona sometimes has in freeze teams is energy. If Ayaka's burst kills enemies before Mona's taunt explodes you get 0 hydro particles. You could use fav or Proto Malice on her to fix it, but then you lose TTDS on Ayaka

@@lucasfranke5161proto amber r5 mona more comfortable for rotation.. especially if u use team like ayaka, mona, venti, ganyu burst team. This team's energy generation can easily be messed up if miss skill and proto can cover that. TTDS also not that big if u use anemona instead of mist splitter on ayaka. Kokomi is better TTDS user imo as mona need stacked er stat. To give u some margin to mess up I think the more big problem with mona is her hydro aura application uptime is quite short.. especially with some boss that got freeze resistance 50%, like the sumeru like mini boss like the electro scorpion, anemo dragon snake, hydro beast etc.

@@SyrFlora not an option for me currently, at least not every abyss rotation. I was playing Ayaka, Ganyu, Kazuha, Mona and barely managed to kill the 4 consecrated beasts from 12-3 in time in the previous lineup. If my Ayaka had better artifacts I might've gotten away without TTDS, but right now Mona kinda needs it. I did get Kokomi too though. I'll probably also try getting closer to 300 ER on NO pieces eventually, though it definitely has lower priority than the more DPS oriented sets

Switch Ayaka off field after cast burst, keep playing Mona on field spam Dash, skill or burst. Best one, Mona Burst > ayaka burst > Mona on field play Hydro spam. With Kazuha and Diona are much better option confort than Sucrose and Shenhe. Kokomi luxury niche needs

24:42 I agree with this. Recently I got Clara on Star Rail, so I've been farming relics. The first few pieces I got had CRT DMG on one piece, but was mostly ATK%, break effect, speed and effect hit rate. Normally that'd feel bad, but since Luka is getting released next weak and he's a debuffer, now I can go "hey, maybe this will be good on him?" And that feels *way* better than "well, I just wasted a bunch of time and resources"

Kokomi taser helped me 36* this abyss, so she was good investment for me even though I already have Yelan, XQ, Mona and Barbara fully leveled and geared. She's just way more comfortable than both Mona and Barbara for the teams I play. And pulling for her helped me get my C6 Yanfei, which I don't use for abyss but she's got the best JP voice acting for "tabibito" asmr. Good value, good comfy, good tabibito.

Kokomi is in such a sweet spot where she’s not f2p (forced to play) that I feel like you can just discover her and how good she makes you feel and fall in love. Like I don’t like Kokomi’s personality, but I love her playstyle enough that it doesn’t matter to me. I wish Kazuha was in this same spot. If he was just a little bit worse, I’d use him all the time.

Kokomi was a nice pickup for me on her first rerun, and she's been a staple for my freeze team in abyss when they're not trying to make bad abysses for it. When dendro dropped, specifically Nahida, running Raiden, Nahida, Kokomi feels nice in overworld. Even in abyss, I ran those 3 with Beidou which felt good to me against aggressive hard hitting aoe chambers. I know I can potentially get away with Barbara, but I've been...traumatized? from being frozen so much by her in early Genshin, so yeah, I'm a Kokomi Komrade. o7 Thanks for the video, Zajef, and shoutouts to the editing team. That's why Kokomi usage rate in the abyss has always on top these cycles. Kokomi + Beidou can tank everything the boss throw at you with ease. I mean I don't even dodge when fighting the 3 maguu kenkis

i wish she can reposition her jelly easily (like dehya’s E), and that she doesn’t lose her burst if you switch her out (like Noelle’s Q). also, we can drop her water-walking jesus ability. no one really uses it, and instead give her a more practical useful ability like being able to reposition her jelly.

The thing is if she could crit you would have to build less hp and healing bonus, loosing on a lot healing and also loosing out on damage anyway due to her scaling. They found a really smart workaround for that, allowing you to have a character who heals like no other while still doing good damage.

i guess it would really depend on how you play her. like if she can crit i would still build full HP with a HB circlet and i would just rely on substats for CR for fav to work. like People even run full EM Kazuha or Full HP Driver Baizhu with not alot of CR and that they are still able proc fav.

I think not being able to crit really suits her lore-wise. It really shows how much thought hoyo really put towards designing their limited characters. Like it make sense why she shouldn't crit because shes an amazing strategist and an amazing strategist doesn't rely so much on probability.

I disagree 1. Kokomi is not a good strategist at all. Its Hoyo’s fault for trying to write a smart character without being smart themselves. that’s why the “dumb” character formula were very popular since 90s as writing a smart character is one of the most difficult thing to do. 2. Probability/luck is every where, even in battlefield. A good strategist knows that no plan is going to go well as they planned. why do you think backup plans exist ?

nah i wish i could build some crit rate on Kokomi just for fav as on field driver like that's one of the things i wish i had. like you don't need to build need a ton of Crit rate on Kazuha or driver Baizhu for Fav to work. like i would just build them full EM or HP and just get ER and CR through substats.

Got Kokomi on her first rerun, my best investment ever. Was running her in taser and freeze before dendro (I have Yae, so it was one of my best versatile teams), now I also run her in double hydro hyperbloom and burgeon teams. Ironically enough, I rarely run her in bloom nowadays because Kaveh+Xq is just more fun for me.

My fave Kokomi team is Kokomi, Beidou, Raiden, Xingui where I basically just switch between the pairs, Kokomi makes sure Raiden doesn't die, Raiden makes sure Kokomi can Burst on rotation.

Kokomi is also decent in quickbloom and freeze burgeon where you don't need as fast hydro, and she is compatible even if you on-field carry doesn't auto attack as much (quick-swap keqing)

If you have a freeze team get kokomi. I promise you will be happy. Mona doesnt hold a candle to kokomi. Her hydro application and healing is the missing link for freeze teams

@@deadlysound5711while I don’t particularly advise pulling for her just for freeze if you alr have mona (only if you have other teams that wants her too like Nilou bloom), it’s a fact that the most used freeze team is ayaka kazuha shenhe kokomi. You can argue about why mona’s better but statistics shows that you’re a minority. My Ayaka is c2r1 and once I got Kokomi I never go back to Mona because my Ayaka is strong enough to destroy things even without omen and Kokomi’s way better application and comfort actually makes clearing abyss chambers faster not only ingame but in real life time too. So no I don’t think Kokomi’s better because “my ayaka is weak af”, it’s the opposite.

In practical/Speedrun, mona Clear time only few second diffenrence. Sometimes Kokomi Clear faster than mona. Do you really think is worth to sacrifice QoL stuff from kokomi just to few second faster? Is up to you.

Kokomi changes freeze Ganyu. With her you can do more charged shots, you can also buff Ganyu burst a lot because you dont need to use it before everything else, like you do with Morgana. And having 20 second freezes is really nice, it works in multiple wave content too if you position correctly. Id only get Kokomi for freeze or Nilou. I also use her with Keqing, Fischl and Nahida, the hyperblooms deal good dmg, specially in AoE, it alsos frees Zhongli for the other team if i want.

Yeah there are some weird people out there and it even made me dislike her character for a while but I recently took a (much needed) break and I'm starting to use her a bit more Idk why I got affected by people on the internet it sucks 😅 I still prefer many other healers though over Kokomi to this day 🙃

The argument about artifacts is pretty good. I remember farming HoD for Childe and I got really good Hydro DMG goblet - double crit, energy recharge and HP%. Everything went into HP percent. Almost put it into the grinder but then I thought "okay, MAYBE it will be okayish for Ayato or Yelan". And I use it now on Yelan. Is it best? Nope, but it is serviceable enough to not spend another 1000 resin on farming another Hydro goblet.

My favorite use of Kokomi is actually with Itto. One of Itto’s best match ups is Rifthounds, but Zhongli doesn’t combat the corrosion and I can’t play carefully.

Tbf at 28:46 some Ayaka freeze team rotations with Kokomi dont have kokomi burst in them so for those she doesnt have a er requirement, smth like Ayaka Shenhe Kazuha Kokomi for example

My quickbloom team has C6 Xinqui with al haitham & Raiden. Does his fast application ruin a lot of spread or does raiden mitigate it?

I don't really find Mona clunky on freeze teams. However, solving her ER needs is a must, which I did in my case. With that said, I still prefer her over Kokomi on Ayaka freeze. I'd only probably pick Kokomi if I have Shen He.

I have 211% er on her and I have her burst every rotation with sac diona and fav kazuha, her Er is really not that big of a deal and to me she is perfect in the freeze ayaka comp

200-220 er is fine and you can even have a bit less depending on how many favs you have. it all matters to how many enemies you are against. people that say mona is clunky on freeze are just kokomi copers. you can one cycle most enemies with mona that you cant with kokomi. hydro app is literally enough, been playing freeze for friends since ages and never had problems with mona, instead i have problems playing with kokomi like not enough damage/buffing or stationary hydro app, and even high cooldown, which makes me lose rotations and instantly bench her for a proto amber mona. if you need non stop hydro app, yeah, she is clunky, but then: you shouldn't be playing mona in those teams.

i have shenhe and i still use mona with r5 prototype amber in that team her freeze duration is no problem since i have c1 already which increases freeze duration by 15% and omen doesn't go away on frozen target so it's huge dmg buff

One problem I sometimes have with Mona is enemies dying before the taunt explodes, so no hydro particles. That was a problem in the previous abyss for me with the whopperflowers and doritos on 12-1

I don't know if my question (asking about her hypothetical damage output if she could crit) was actually a part of the impetus to do that bit of theorycrafting, but I definitely appreciate that he did it all the same. Just like his "April Fools Hydro Archon Leak" video, I enjoy the thought experiment. And to clarify, I don't actually want Hoyo to change her kit to allow crits. She's great as she is. I use her all the time, and at no point do I feel like I'm missing out on something by her not being able to crit (besides Fav). Simply some idle curiosity about what a crit!Kokomi would be capable of.

I really want to get Kokomi despite her not being meta, and the TLDR of it is that even if healing is generally a dps loss and you shouldn't be dying (unless you're in abyss), having the best healer in the game is still really nice, mainly because you don't need to focus on other healers (purely for healing, they can have other uses e.g kuki hyperbloom) because then you can just slap her on a team that's dying or you're taking a lot of damage on.

I finally got Koko on both my main and my free accounts this banner. I don't have Mona on my f2p, and koko has been a game changer esp because I was relying on Barbara, and Barbara is more and more limited. I got Wanderer on both accounts last banner, so that wasnt a concern. Yaoyao is great but I don't have Nilou, and I have Nahida on both accounts. Koko changed my life on my f2p. On my main, she just makes life a lot more comfortable.

I have both.....and The difference in damage between kokomi and ayato in my case is huge but my ayato with his bis weapon and kazuha and bennet and C6 yunjin. Impossible to compare at all Maybe I'm wrong if we count her artifacts set ,she gets better damage of course

mh I do think shes underrated in pure Burgeon teams without additional elements (like Oven or Curry) in something like double hydro with a Units like Yelan Nahida Thoma; it feels like a really strong team that has really good aoe damage but still decent single target damage and like none of the other hydros would really work as well as Kokomi there (and more importantly you cant play them cause self damage and you will die). But obviously you can also just replace Nahida with Yaoyao or Baizhu if you have him and Kokomi with Xingqiu which from my experience feels like a downgrade but not really unplayable either. Also Fridge is a functional meme team this abyss first side :)

I feel like the Critless passive is still a restriction to her kit. Because it LITERALLY limits another playstyle of her. If Hoyo really wants to introduce new playstyle, make it an additive passive like Nahida Burst of Gorou burst, not like another Nilou pls.

one thing people ignore is that barbra can proc fav. so instead of "nilou kokomi bloom." you can play "barbra thoma burgen" and do similar damage plus counter cryo shields

Seems like they tried to make her baseline damage somewhat equal to what crit could do, but it has the downside of outside sources and buffs just benefit her less than it would anyone who could crit, I agree with the opinion of artifact diversity but I do think it makes her overall potential worse. But that's my opinion, and I still rolled her.

Her damage is still very functional. Main drawback is that she doesn't work as well with ATK and flat damage bonus buffs, so you're forced to look elsewhere in DMG% buffs or Res shreds.

@sweetillusions5495 not necessarily, while all those things would buff her damage, being able to crit is like double dipping off any of those bonus or increasing even shredding The way I would describe her damage at baseline without criting is 2+2 vs 2×2 they both equal 4 but once you add another source it's like 4+2 vs 4×2 while her damage does go up criting would yield higher damage is just what I'm trying to convey.

To me shes a good character specially because im a mobile player and after i got Zhongli my dodging skills got pretty bad. Then i got her and she heals when i get hit and i also went back to learning enemies attack patterns/dodging because of her

Kokomi's value as a unit? Explain as short as possible: 1. Game changing but not necessary upgrade in Nilou/Ayaka teams over Barbara(Nilou) and Mona(Ayaka). 2. Sidegrade in absolutely any other team. Even in Sukokomon she got budget competitor. 3. Unusable in vape. Don't have Nilou/Ayaka? Then Kokomi is not worth pulling at all if you seek for value.

In nilou team i dont think kokomi is a game changer, in fact both kokomi and kokomi fill the same purpose that is to apply hydro through her auto and heals, perhaps the correct word is more comfort

I LOVE Kokomi. Yes I am a simp, yes I am down bad for her.... but she's a beautiful character who provides a ton of utility and whose place in the game has done a complete 180 from where people thought it was when she released two years ago. I think by now you already know if you should be going for her or not, but if for some reason you're still on the fence... just get her dude, she's incredible!

And this is coming from someone that lot 50/50 for albedo 5 times and farmed up a perfect set for him 2 years ago. You can use - Mono Hydro - Hyperbloom - Burgeon - etc(when Kokomi Good for onfield) Her C1 give another damage in N3 Combo also give you Another Hydro Application not share ICD with Na. I have C1 Kokomi, last Abyss rotation with team Nahida, Thoma, Xiangling, Kokomi. Kokomi C1 Solo Hydro still Give You plenty Seed. I will to say C1 Kokomi is still good to reduce Burning Reaction in Burgeon team.
