I'm a Canadian so I don't want to say this but the only fix is, fire anyone that interviewd jesse marsh, then double his salary and hire him. But that would never happen.
@@babyting395 Did Jesse Marsch manage a fútbol team from the Championship or Premier League? Or even if he did manage a fútbol team from a championship side- what is wrong with that given managers like Gareth Southgate have also managed a team from championship + ended up coaching national teams ? 👀😏🤣
@@drewbranch7700 Speaking as a lifelong Leeds fan, Marsch was way out of depth in the Premier League. I wanted to like him, and I applaud his work ethic and passion, but he’s just not at that level as a manager/coach.
0:58 Stevie never justifies his claim that Scotland is "more talented" than the USA. Looking at the squads, it is hard to imagine anyone other than Robertson, McGinn, & McTominay from Scotland starting for the US.
@@colachofcb It isn't. There are coaches like Renard, Wagner, Gallardo, or Perez who are not considered top level coach who we could ask about. We're not a top 10 team but people act like we have the coaching interest of a bottom 100 team. There is a middleground here.
I don't think he has learned under any proper coach, like Artera did with Pep. I think he should be an assistant to say, even Deschamps and he can build from there
He has done well as an assistant. He got a third place in the World Cup as assistant. Yes, didn't do well in mls but I do think he is learning. For me it all depends how he does in the olimpics. The French team is expected to at least medal at home. For me he needs to win the gold. If he does then I would be willing to give him. Chance. I do think he must win gold to prove himself. A medal at home will not be enough unless it's gold.
Ain’t no way. Scotland having more quality???? 😭😭 I get the aspect of liking or associating more with a certain players - but more talented overall??? Nah.
Easy way to decide what you really think. If the US were playing Scotland, on which team would you place a bet, for how much and with what odds? That's the gut check. When real money is at stake, most people will be realistic and forego emotional preferences.
Both were great players and their impacts will never be forgotten. But lets me honest they have both failed at coaching .If not for what they did while playing, we wouldn’t even be talking about them for these role
Benitez has plenty of experience just not with national teams. But he is a better choice than Henry or Viera. The only problem US soccer will need to pay lots of money for Benitez, are they willing to do it.
Both of them a bad choice. Many Henry has some international coaching experience as an assistant with Belgium and manager with the French Olympic team. I believe USA men team deserve someone like Morinho who has rich experience in Europe even if he has nothing with national teams.
@@rvog6584 Herve Renard is a proven national team manager and he is still hungry even if he won 2 AfCons in Africa which is very hard competition and is only coach to beat Argentina in 2022 World Cup with limited talent. He has the fighting rage the us players need. He plays attractive football.
@@rvog6584 list of concacaf World Cup = 0 so what’s your point? You want to get a club coach to experiment? Or you want to get Joachim Low who has no energy or fire left? Herve Renard with the level of talent in USMNT and infrastructure will give the best outcome of the bunch with one exception maybe being Jessie Marsch. Anyone else would be waste of time and untested outcome. Herve Renard is hungry, speaks English, tested successfully with NTs and is the last coach to have gotten the best of Argentina with… Saudi Arabia in a tournament.
I love them both, but Harvé Renard should be in the mix. I know he is managing the French Women National Team + the two years on his contract;however,he would be a great candidate for the job.
Atp, both mbappe and vini don’t scare anyone no more. It’s not complicated Frank, it’s simple, they have to proof themselves again because honestly no defense is worried for them anymore. Mbappe has fallen so hard and Vini just struggles every single game. If you watch la liga more, you see it.
Stevies point is more about football culture. Scotland has more of a football culture and takes it seriously, while US its more of “just another sport”.
@@megamonster1234 that is several clarifications that take it away from like thinking he’s one of the best in the world. Like world class is top 10 in the world at your position
Vieira and Henry would be terrible choices for the national team job, why? Because they both have an unconvincing and horrible record coaching at club level. Great players but horrendous at coaching. Also people are making it sound like Antonee Robinson is some world class LB😐he’s not the guy’s one dimensional all offense and no technical skill, tactical ability, let alone he has no defensive talent case and point the game against the Netherlands in the last WC.
It's not at all unreasonable to say the US should have beat Panama. Scotland played well enough to beat Switzerland and Hungary but still somehow managed to blow it.
@@james.butler. Exactly. Scotland has to play with European teams. We've got to play with a bunch of guys from Caribbean islands and an occasionally strong Mexican team. I'm American, and in a US v. Scotland match, I'll bet on Scotland and give three-to-one odds against me.
See hes off base with those Palace comments. Wasnt he like many saying how wrong for it was for him to get fired in that momeht when at that time they were playing against top 6 clubs back to back. Its Palace of courae they wers going to perform poorly. Hodgson came in when they were playing against the minnows. Made him look good.
I’m sorry did you say my hero Pablito Aimar + River Plate ,please please get him. Wasn’t he in the coaching staff for ‘22 World Cup winning team/Argentina too?🥇🏆
I did some research. It was Tyler Adams who said, "When I'm healthy and playing consistently… I'm one of the best midfielders at what I do in the world." The arrogance. Jeezus.
If USMNT wants to be humiliated at the their hosting world cup, Heney or Vieira is a good choice. BUT otherwise, please don't even mention these names. Is this some kind of how to sabotage my own world cup?
These guys are hilarious. They only talk about managers for the US that England doesn't care about. Any of the one's we're in competition with them for are never mentioned in context of the US 😉
Go somewhere else with your virtue signalling. I don't know what Enzo Fernandez said but assuming you're right about him being racist what do you want to hear from them? Racism bad? Because you don't already know that racism is bad
I think a healthy Tyler Adams has the tools to be a top PL CM, putting him in world class territory. But potential doesn't mean much, esp with the injury history
They don’t,average American could give two craps who coaches.the average American pays attention to soccer during world cups and prob more during the women’s WC.
USA need not only just a coach... they need a group of Spanish coaches in the whole setup from youth to adults on how to keep the ball possession... obviously the Spaniards are doing something right.. they don't have Xavi, Iniesta anymore but they are controlling possession so well with players from Sociedad and Bilboa... and steam roll their opponents in the Euro...
I absolutely love Henry & Viera but they are stubborn characters sans the CV. They'd alienate half of the players on the team, many of who are terribly overrated, by demanding a great deal from them. The best manager for the job is Tuchel, who'd alienate the entire team but at least he has gravitas. Our way of playing will not change unles we have better midfielders and defenders & a goalie who doesn't panic everytime he has the ball.
neither they sucked as coaches. US is literally not serious if they appoint either. Pick an Italian, Argentina (please god no), or Spanish coach (I'd rather not cuz then we're just playing pep ball).
Please oh please get someone who's proven. Everyone that they keep mentioning have failed at managing. Why can't they go for someone who has succeeded in their post and has some kind of knowledge in technique, not someone who's going to line up and play the same way every game.
Craig burley and Stevie, are just insufferable tbh. Craig talking about Viera’s time at Crystal Palace ending with the team not scoring, is shallow considering the opposition/run of games they had at that time. Roy came in at the best time, with those games, anyone would’ve won games with Crystal Palace.
Nah in what world is Scotland a better team than USA Pulisic, Weah, Mckennie, Ream, Richard’s, Dest and Turner would all start for Scotland. Even some of our bench players like Scally, Musah, CCV the best defender in Scotland would challenge for a starting spot
The USMNT has talent, but no heart. The players liked Berhalter for the wrong reasons, and I'm starting to think it wasn't entirely Klinsmann's fault he lost the locker room. They have no heart. This is the elephant in the room. And until U.S. Soccer addresses this issue, and hires a manager who's going to inspire heart in these soft, underperforming, tattooed millionaires, it's just going to be more of the same.
Viera and Henry are both bad coaches. They both have records of failure. But neither has the kind of pull to tell Garber to take a hike on the WC roster selection. Thus, they tick the boxes of 'overseas coach' (sort of) and easy for MLSSF to control. They will be good little stooges and cash their paychecks.
With all due respect but I don’t remember the last time Scotland made ANY noise in soccer media…..I’m not saying the U.S. are in the top 10 of best soccer teams in the world BUT in the last World Cup we had potential towards being in the top 5 teams in the world and the problem is th@ this national team hasn’t given us a sensation since th@ World Cup th@ it belongs in the top 5 in the world…..This U.S. men’s National team in the last game vs Uruguay had a solid first half against Uruguay but in the second half it looked like it shrunk in intensity, control, and offensive ideas……..The U.S. Men’s National Team needs to stop playing around with big names and finally just go ALL IN with a Coach who has been there and done th@……..
@@babyting395 Did you read the whole comment? I said finishing the World Cup they had potential towards becoming top 5 POTENTIAL……Never did I say they are a top 5 team please read it thoroughly……
@@urielgarcia6319 You’re projecting. You clearly don’t watch football. France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, England, Portugal, Netherlands. I just have you 8 teams which are light years ahead of the USMNT. Which 3 of those do you think they could be better than, realistically?
Why is this the choice? One former French Superstar with very little managerial experience, and what there is leaves mych to be desired, vs another former French superstar whose managerial experience so far has been clise to an abject disaster.
No matter what the coach should be American especially since the world cup is here in North America. I think all national team should be coached by a coach from that country.
Not being realistic with choices you need a coach who can develop players and bring a culture. In youth you need kill pay to play and go to merit to play! Most of better players are discovered from impoverished backline world. As football is a way out soccer can be a way since it’s the highest paying sport at highest levels. Starts either building a culture. What’s marsh done at Canada is outstanding. But than again this coaching to hurt Canada has better players. Don’t believe me. Canada made fourth round of copa they won thier group last time to qualify for World Cup which incidentally included Mexico and United States of America. When you begin to put in consistent performances you simply are a better team. Tbh No one saw Canada making the jump but has in world class football. This has really put emphasis on Mexico to revamp its system not simply changing managers they revamped the whole system. Wasn’t the United States but Canada. Remember Canada has won the group Mexico was second USA third. Despite USA winning most of games against Mexico they had too miscues against other teams. Canada had few blemishes they were so consistent. They gave Argentina outside of thier most difficult match outside of uraguay and uraguay gives so few scoring chances per match. Whoever you choose they need to do thier job without interference from federation. Everyone in uss federation needs sacking as well!
The main problem USMNT have been not win in world cup and copa america tournament, i feel sorry when keep changing their coaches keep losing the game. U.S country is arrogant to underestimating to another team. American most likely more into Golf, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey and American football NFL, but soccer it means not for American. Thats why USMNT not enough support by people out there. There is nothing can do to growth to win every participate in that events also I'm sorry USMNT management fail everything to their own players. But Thierry Henry and Patrick Vierra will not interested for USMNT sorry
