Yes I did. I have an RCF and yes, I have been blown away by the experience of ownership. RCF was more of a competitor for the F30/F80 M3/M4. My friend has one and I can tell you, it compares extremely well with it as we do runs together a lot. The G-series M3/M4 is a lot more modern are actually more expensive than the RCF even loaded. Also, the G-series M3/M4 is now the size of the E60 V10 M5. Imagine that.
IMO, the M4 would make a great lease vehicle, while the RC-F would make the best PURCHASE. On classics like these, I'm thinking well beyond the 'warranty period'.
The M3/4 performs better but it will leak oil and youll need to change the vanos. The Lexus is super reliable. You will only need gas, oil changes, and tires.....and once in a while a battery.
I totally just did choose a RCF over a M4CP , bought the best one they make a RCF Fuji Speedway edition ( best version for track use ) and it's been simply amazing! Drove M4CPs M3s, I come from BMW cars but this right here is such an underrated car revving out a NA V8 and how light it is being the Fuji aka Track edition is just the best on a beautiful track and high way day. The Torsen reminds me of my previous M diff and it's just such a fun car. This car has changed my mind on many things and for nearly 100k it's been an amazing experience. One of those cars that you have to drive in its element to really appreciate its offerings. If you havent driven one take one to a track and rev the hell out of it and if it's Torsen LSD one have fun in the turns when your not going for lap times initially ...so darn rewarding! One thing thats insane the car can go from a track day and drive home in eco mode without even hearing the engine surrounded by the best sound system I have ever heard. Yes better than my prior Bang & Olufsen!!! Believe it!! An RCF no matter which one at the end of the day is an amazing experience drive one before stat commenting and take it to a track do a lap!! Trust me.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I had driven an RC F on a track (after some slight rain) and had a blast ripping it and getting it sideways. It was so controllable and honestly blew my mind since I did not expect it at all getting into it. For sure an experience I’ll never forget!
I did research for 2 years to decide between the M4/C63 and RCF. I got the RCF and have NOT been disappointed. The NAV8, the quality of the materials, the cost of ownership. Sold
I have an RCF CF/TVD now for 7 years and it is the perfect car. It does not depreciate much as even 2015 mint condition, low mileage and well kept RCFs go for $50+ K. It does everything very well even if it is not the best at anything. Not the fastest, but hey buy an EV if you want maximum speed. Mine with a few small mods, capable of doing 11s in the 1/4 mile so that is plenty fast all day with around 530 HP at the crank. The N/A high-revving engine sound, luxury, practicality and also ability to take it to the track if/when I want to, makes it a winner in my book. One of the best decisions I made.
I actually intend to. I currently have a 99 M3 that's supercharged. I have had it for the last 16 years, 9 of which are supercharged (450 whp). Only 75k miles on it. I LOVE the car, it is a ton of fun. However I have come to a point where I would like something different, and I have always wanted a V8. The new S58 M3/M4 is an incredible machine, and performance wise as well as mod potential it's a better platform, BUT I feel like I would be getting into the same type of car again. The RC F seems to check all the boxes to me. It's different and it stands out. I love the design and look, the interior is very nice, and it's the type of car that gives you everything. It has tons of looks, luxury, and yet that incredible V8 sound, It won't be as fast as the M3/M4, or even my car, but if I factor everything overall it's the better car. It is still plenty fast, and full bolt-ons would make it close to my current car. It's definitely more performance than you can use on the streets. I have the option for a supercharger kit and that would make power a high point then. That sound though, those seats, the ML stereo, cluster gauge, the design, and obviously Lexus quality/reliability. Even though the interior is a 9 year old design, to me it looks nicer than the new M3/M4, and the quality, materials, and fit and finish is excellent in the RC F. A Mustang, Vette, Dodge also carry a V8, and the Vette is obviously an insane performer, but again outside of being faster the RC F checks every other box. Add the mods and the performance becomes a non-factor. I guess that's one example of how someone would buy one over the M3/M4🙂
This car could be so much better if it had a competent transmission and a decent infotainment + 360 camera. Boggles me how those don't come standard in a freaking 2023 car!? C'mon Toyota, stop being so cheap and greedy.
I think one would only pick this over M4 is because of the raw V8 sound and reliability and perhaps the looks. But it's no brainer that M4 is much better, faster better aftermarket support, better track weapon, and B58 is a very reliable engine
