I have a question...in the A8ss hand you go for value with your trips to get hero calls from worse..i love the thoughts and it's best feeling ever going for "thin" value. But the size makes me a little confuse. If you would bluff there what you are trying to say wouldn't you overbet to get folds from maybe a hand like 87ss or random 8 and topairs? Would you please explain me your river size why you choose thia size because i struggel so often on river sizes and i have the feeling i loose value or value own me so often... I think you should go polar on the river with the a8 hand. You say he is a really solid reg so he would not reraise a overbet most of the times and he has no fullhouses in his range at all. On a pairedboard he would not shove a nutflush when you have more qq and jj in your range.

(Some of these Tx/9x can xr flop) Maybe I’ve played too much PLO. You block his FH, he never has QQ or JJ and he doesn’t improve ever on a 4. Some Axcc might raise flop or 3! pre/ lead turn? I’d imagine he’s discounted on NFs. I think some guys go for it here with KcJ, JxTc, Ac Jx (although AJ might 3b pre) Initially thought Qx9c might go for it if he thinks you’re leaned towards value (although I imagine theory prefers call) Live thing - could he be more weighted towards bluffs if he thinks it’s your last hand? On the last hand if you know he’s capable of making these types of plays, you gotta either check back or make the call down. Nothing wrong with going for thin value but you gotta know if he’s capable of putting you in the blender and if he would actually play a value hand this way
Do you think they even shove a flush on that runout? They never have QQ or JJ and you block 88 and the other full houses. Would you call the shove with a non nut flush? it feels very similar to calling with a 8. Probably even better to call with an 8 than with a nut flush because then you block the bluffs and only face value from full houses. Love the channle keep up the good work!
The area the Vic is in is garbage.I was there pre covid and it was already migrant infested sh1thole, Ive heard its gotten much worst too. Whats nice about the Grosvnor Casinos(which the Vic is apart of) or however you spell it is all of the casinos under the name(theres dozens of them in London) all have a deposit system where you can deposit at one and cash out at a diff one. So not much concern walking around at night. I stayed in a hotel I think near Grosvnor Square which was a 10-15min walk as I had thought the Vic was there and ended up just depositing cash by hotel and using my players card to pull it out at Vic, then same process after sesh's. Grinded all week they had a great 10/25 plo back then. My mom lives in Europe and so one year after visiting her I traveled around playing poker in various spots not knowing the lay of the land or anything like that. Do research ahead of time. It is a pain in the ass to get cash in hand there. Poker in Europe kinda sucks massive balls unless there is a tournament series somewhere. And even then the rake is ridiculous, casinos have the dumbest hours, there are all sorts of rules and regulations that are a massive annoyance. The Vic is by far the best as far as rake and action go, at least it was at the time. The pound is a rubbish currency(mind as well talk British) and the biggest denomination is $50, so it was outrageous initially lol. I looked up currency exchanges ahead of time online since I had Euros and the Vic would not accept them and contacted them and found one that I negotiated a good rate with. I tried to send bank transfer but wasnt able to back then, maybe different now. They have really weird money rules in UK. Pretty sure there was a cap that I was allowed to gamble with, despite being a foreigner with a business who could prove income. But atleast the rake was similar to how it is in USA except it wasnt time rake even for the stakes.
If you don't want to pay several hundred quid per night you could consider looking around Ealing Broadway. The Vic is very close to Marble Arch tube and it's only about a 20 minute journey. Also the Central Line runs all night on Fridays and Saturdays.
Hey Gary tough final hand. It is difficult for him to have a boat there. QQ & JJ would surely 3 bet pre. Much of the combos of Q8s & J8s are blocked by the board, also you have an 8 in your hand. He would have had to defend the straddle with like Q8o then decline to x/r on that draw-heavy flop. Nut flushes are a concern, altho there are not that many of them. His AK/AQ of clubs 3 bet pre, while A9/ATcc have monster combo draws and would have raised at least some of the time. He could reach the river with something like A5cc i spose. A hand like T7cc? Mayb, but his river x/r is a very ambitious line to take with some middling flush. He is really saying he has a boat, the nut flush or nothing. The more I think about it, his x/r seems a bit off. If he actually had the nut flush surely he would have considered a donk rather than risk it checking thru. This is because your range has a lot of AA, KK or AQ which bet two streets in order to 'buy the showdown'. Anyway all of this is easy to say from the comfort of my laptop. Keep grinding.
The last hand even if I’m wrong …if I had your hand once I bet 475 and like you said he’s a good player… he checked raised River putting him on AQ or KQ with a club… wish you would have called

First of all, I enjoy your blogs. After watching your play you seem to play a very roll coaster game, going way, then way down. You also seem to have a difficult time when getting played back with large oversized bets such as the last hand. If you’re not prepared to make the call after betting then you need to check it back.
