For how short the rest of the world perceives Japan to be, when I visited them earlier this year, they were surprisingly “normal” height.

Regardless of their preference, these ladies look very consistent with their claimed height. Some would lie about their height specially in united states.

There are lots of tall, but really good looking actors out there too. I think most people would not want a giraffe on a ladder or a mini midget. As long as a person is normal and healthy

As someone that's been to Japan for the first time in my life a few months ago and still have been living in currently, I was so impressed with the culture and how there doesn't seem to be a sense of superficiality (ex. women don't carry luxury brand bags, people expressing fashion sense through various quirky styles and not caring what other people think). As a short guy myself, I was particularly impressed by seeing so many couples whereby the short guy is shorter than the girl, or a guy below 5'3 being confident and having a girlfriend. Observing this, it just made me love this country even more. So before clicking onto this video, I was a bit anxious that my positive perception of Japan could have potentially just been a delusion and that I would be proven wrong in my assumption. But upon watching this video and see the sample of surveys that were made, it just reconfirmed my belief in the notion that Japan is truly an amazing country with minimal judgement relative to other countries. Also as a person of Korean ethnicity, I've been shamed so much for my height and felt like I wasn't enough. Koreans glorify height as if it's the end all be all. So, it is so nice to see that Japan is night and day compared to Korea when it comes to this topic and I hope this channel and the people of Japan continue to empower people of all sizes and continue to be the amazing country that it is. I sincerely hope media and shows like kdramas, etc. doesn't influence and change the wholesome perspectives of the Japanese. PS. I also really love how the interviewer doesn't discriminate against the girls being shorter in height and says that they are cute. Just such an amazing culture.

there are many couples here in Japan where the men are shorter than the gf. tall play a big role but japanese women doesnt depend in height only. msot of them go for looks and money.

This topic looks kind of out of place in a country where women's average height is 1,50-1,60m. They would really have to search to find men shorter than them

Japanese women don't really focus on height as much as women from Korea or China. Korean and Chinese women are quite picky about it. In Japan, women tend to want men who are at-least ~170-175 cm in height at a minimum whilst in Korea and China, they want a man who is at-least ~180-185 cm at a minimum.

Please asked taller women next time. Women who are above 175.

You did a great job! I love the pure Japanese speaking! Lots of interviews and interesting comments about height attractiveness. It is likewise, also with me as a guy who likes a girl who is shorter than me and not taller. A girl at 5 feet (152cm) and shorter is okay. But for me, it is all about the pretty and cute face and nice personality.

The main takeaway from the interview is that 170 cm is kind of the entry barrier. If you're shorter, you might need to work harder to succeed. Go luck lads

I am 183cm or 6feet. When I walk around in Norway I some time am the tallest, but often enough I am not and there are allot of people around me that are taller.

All of them SAY they would date guys who are maybe a little taller than them, but their actions show, they all said the actually dated tall guys for the most part. From this we can see very clearly that these woman want tall guys in general and will date them (sleep around) to get them. On the flip side of the argument woman can't condemn men for wanting slim woman when all these woman want tall guys.

what about from the man's point-of-view. I would not want to date a woman much shorter than me, feels like I'm hanging around with a kid. I'd much rather date someone around my same height which automatically excludes many Japanese women.

Looks like they edited out most of the negative answers for some reason. It seems too rare that only one girl cared about height. I'm 165cm living in Japan and from my experience, I can say that it's gonna be hard to get a date from a party or club night.
