Don't expect too much on big airlines. The big 3 in the US and China are all simply average. Surprises (either good or bad) usually are found on smaller ones.
The A330 on Air China is extremely outdated, I had this experience on a flight from Beijing-Taipei then Taipei-Beijing, there wasn't even a touch screen tv and you had to pay for extra for touchscreen. However the flight attendant was very kind and even offered an extra blanket when I felt cold. When flying Air China. I recommend checking the plane and how old it is because the 787, 777 and A330 can be quite terribly outdated at times. I recommend flying on the A350 where its newer and its more comfortable.
That's what I did. I checked the plane model (as I always do anyway) and booked with an a350 which is very modern. From Shangai to Osaka Is an a321neo.
Hey! I think in theory for economy class AirChina's allowance is one piece of 5kg luggage, but to be honest, in our trip they didn't care about the size and weight of the hand luggage at all. We've seen some passengers boarding with some seriously oversized cabin suitcases 🙈
@@FeedingFoca Hi, thank you for your reply 😊. Yeah, my travel agent was saying that the personal item (ie shoulder bag) + hand carry (ie backpack) should total 7 kg. I went to AC's website and it said what you said. 5 kg for carry on+ 1x personal item. I am having second thoughts now. She even told me the airline is strict with the baggage allowance. 😑😩🤔 I am nervous because I've never taken this airline before. Ldn-Manila. Were you happy with your journey with them?
I understand you, I guess it's the gamble that we all have to take when boarding with more hand luggage than what's allowed. 😅 In our case we brought definitely more than 5kg and no one cared, but that's a risk that one must decide by themselves whether it's worthy taking or not. As you can see in our two shorts, Air China's services were pretty okay, and the flights were on time, it's just that the aircrafts were a bit old. A330s of Chinese airlines except Hainan are outdated, also Air China is probably the worst Chinese airline, China Southern, Hainan and Sichuan are way better
