We thought we were the only RU-vidrs who would be following the Ocean Globe. Extra house points to you guys!! Now, we remember a lady sailor that inspired thousands of men and women who is seldom mentioned these days..... She used to report progress on London's Capital Radio back when Kenny Everett and Chris Tarrant were up and coming stars... Of course Clair Francis on ADC Accutrac. This lady is a star and deserves a big shout out. She was years before her time. Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.

@@SailHub Clare Francis is a legend! The first British woman to compete in the solo transatlantic race, as well as the first woman to skipper an entry in the Whitbread. Thank you very much for bringing light to this awesome race I’ve been an avid follower of the Golden Globe race. I cannot wait to watch this one For those of you who are interested. Don McIntyre will probably be doing daily updates of this race. These updates are a gem. Packed with lovely information He will probably also do his now infamous Q&A sessions . Drum that lost the keel in fastnet yrs ago was owned by ‘Simon le Bon’. ( Druan Duran anybody). Race is underway and going great Follow the daily tracker reports from race organizer!!!!! Cheers Warren
