Most I'd pay for a Stagg with good reviews or I know I like is $120. Can't justify any more than that with solid $50-80 bottles sitting on the shelves

@@Bourbon_Hunter The employee who runs the bourbon part of the store told me Tuesday and Friday are thete delivery days so if they have anything allocated just ask cause it's not put out on the shelves. One allocated purchase per customer a day so if they have Eagle Rare, Stagg, and Weller you only get to choose one not one of each bottle though. And by the way Three Chord bourbon is very good at it's price point. That distillery is owned by Niel Giraldo Pat Benater's husband.

Both Shenk's and Bomberger's were really good this year. They were priced at Total Wine prices I paid exactly that for my pair this year. I buy every year the day Michters releases to my state.

I'm not done watching your whole post yet, however after the mention of Traveller I'm going to chime in 2 👎👎from this guy. I paid list right when it came out, I do live in a controlled state. I think the only reason they put it at that price point was attaching Chris's name to it. $25 bottle in my opinion.

I love the wood paneling and seemingly random price numbers on the last two digits at the first store! I would have probably done the $159 on the Stagg Jr. Yep, that's a must-buy price on the Shenk's and Bombergers. I'm a big fan of that JEP, hope you enjoy that one!

Anything less than $200 for a Stagg is decent. $150 is below bourbon museum prices and secondary group prices. It depends on your ability to get it at close to MSRP in your state. The Buffalo Trace price is obscene. We just had a grocery store sale at $19.99 a bottle as long as you bought 2 or more. It's always available between $23 and $27 for a 750 and $50 for a handle.

I paid 42.99 for a woodford double oaked in Reno, NV. It was the only one on the shelf at this small store and an instant buy considering everywhere else in town wants 60-70 for the same thing. I like it way better than regular woodford.

Just a note about gift sets. I know as a previous manager of a store in Augusta GA all of the gift sets came in at the exact same price as a regular bottle. So our store never charged any different for gift sets.

Brown Bag is fine for the usual stuff but the owner keeps all the allocated stuff in the back for drops. At the drop last December he put out Pappy, Old Fitz, 13th Double Oak, CYPB, etc so he gets good stuff but never on shelves.

We get our bottles for about $40-45 in CT and they’re everywhere. Some places try to charge more but there are enough places that carry them that you don’t need to overpay.

If you were in western MD, I'd suggest going to tri-state liquors cause its like the wand shop in POtter movies, and has all of the unobtainium but way overproiced. Hagerstown Liquor Locker is pretty solid, and Long Meadow, and Frederick Wine House in Frederick.@@Bourbon_Hunter
