My school when I was younger had the same material it’s just made of chopped up rubber and melted Into a flat surface probably from old tires and it wasn’t really damaged per say there were no big holes or anything but the park was absolutely littered in loose rubber bits you couldn’t touch the ground without being covered
And you do bounce. my sister went flying off a swing bounced 3 times (20ish feet) broke her wrist and ripped the top of her ear off her head had to get it stitched badk on she looked like she was a zombie getting off that ground 🤣
Tbf, it’s very easily damaged. It’s only wet pour, it has to get replaced quite often. If your council is shit, then you’ll notice how many holes are everywhere
Yeah, when I was younger we used to wave our hands in people's faces saying: "the air is free for all to use." This has the same energy. Just because you pretty much legally can, doesn't mean you have to choose to be a brat.

I was using a park and a child unsupervised ran in front of my swing. I managed to take my weight off the seat just before it hit the child. The kid cried and was unharmed but distressed, The parent saw a police officer and demanded I be arrested as the age limit was 14. I gave a verbal account and the police officer decided to take my details, with a lecture. She then asked for my date of birth. Then she stopped. “You are under 14. You are 14 tomorrow.” I said “apology accepted” and walked off.
I think it's a given when both skateboards and bikes are not allowed either. What do you need, a list of every ride of toy with wheels? No roller-skates, no hoverboards, no old times bicycles with those big front wheels.

He's not leaving marks on the floor but jumping on and off the slide is clearly likely to damage it. If a bunch of people were using the skate park in the ways it's not supposed to be used, with the possibility of damaging it, skaters etc would care and rightly so. Why argue or even use the kids park in the first place when there's a skate park right there?
Even if the sign didn’t say “no scooters” it’s common sense when the sign says no skateboards, bikes, prams and trikes that scooters are also included in that list, causes the same about of damage as the other items on the list. Sure the older guy could have handled it better but it is a play park for small children, I’m sure there’s a skate park near by you could go instead
Yeah I agree. OP is just trying to make something out of nothing and all these young idiots pipe up to be offended like seagulls watching you eat chips at the beach.
You can see one in the video. This guys is just wanting to damage the kids play ground. He may not damage the ground but a full grown man landing on stuff made for kids will damage the equipment.
I thought the old guy was being annoying until I actually read the sign at the end. If heels, skateboards and even prams aren’t allowed in because it’ll damage the ground then you really shouldn’t take your scooter in there. I have been told off by a woman for walking past her dog with my scooter, as she claimed that scooters were banned on the beach path i was on, and i had almost hit her dog with it, which may just add was sniffing the other side of her. i was around 10 at the time and i have done scootering up and down that path many times getting off and walking past people. i think she mixed up the no cycling signs and assumed they extended to no scooters as well, but i have since checked and scooters are allowed. unbelievably she nearly called the police.
Wait, What, when did they change the law ??? I thought scooters were not allowed on pavements or public highways and could only be ridden on private land with the owners consent... OR unless it is a child's toy being used by a child under the supervision of an adult ????
@hannibalandgreece my bad... if you were 10, then the law doesn't apply ... adults are banned by the same law that bans them from riding pedal powered bicycles on the pavement too (not that anyone pays attention to that law either) .. such is life !!
