Imagine Vegeta entering the tournament to settle the score with Goku only to watch him lose to Yamcha on the first round.

The tournament announcer asked Yamcha if he was scared to fight Son Fraud-ku Yamcha responded: he may give me some trouble if he uses UI The announcer quickly asked if he’d lose “Nah I’d win.” - Yam-chad

Gotta give Piccolo major props for his strategy of winning and some analysis. He loses out initially against Yamcha but keeps in mind how often Yamcha spends ki for Wolf Fang Fist, so next round he Light Grenades and notices that Yamcha was able to vanish both that and any hit he attempts. So he starts his strategy of constantly countering against Yamcha (using Yamcha's aggressiveness against him) to leave Yamcha ki-less and thus susceptible to super moves, but also gaining ki from starting the counter to keep up his own aggression. He continues this strategy 1st round against Vegeta, but Vegeta quickly adapts and attempts the same maneuver. Piccolo seeing how aggressive Vegeta is and how his previous wins in the tournament came from just going full aggro, has to adapt his plans by responding in kind. Vegeta in the previous matches got alot of his victories from countering very close to the edge, so in the first round Piccolo lures Vegeta into a false sense of security up in the sky, only to hit him with a strong enough attack to ring him out. Second match was less strategy and pure pushing their limits. With Piccolo's evasive skills being what saves Vegeta and having beaten Vegeta who transformed into a God; won the crucial moral battle. With the final fight he merely carried the energy from the previous fight to victory. Overall some of the most entertaining CPU fights I have seen in this game and that Piccolo CPU was cooking something fierce! Would love to see more of this Doto!

I cannot get over how in-character the fight between Piccolo and Trunks was. The strategist beating the guy who’s far more inexperienced than the rest of the Z-Fighters. It’s almost poetic of how Trunks lost to Cell.

As the strongest Ginyu, Guldo, fought the fraud, the "Strongest Idiot", he began to open his domain. Rhyme shrunk back in fear, then Guldo said: stand proud... Rhyme, you are strong.

Im only at the start of Piccolo vs Trunks but i NEED Doto to commentate an irl tournament. Dude has a talent and skill of making these things so friggin hype. His enthusiasm is infectous

When I saw Vegeta and Piccolo in the bracket, my brain flashed to the TFS scene of ‘we’ve never actually fought, have we’. I prayed we’d get to see them fight in the end, and lo’ and behold.

If Doto doesn't commentate future professional tournaments then we have lost as a species

So there used to be this series on RU-vid called DBZ League where they basically ran a fantasy sports league in BT3. Rhymestyle actually once was a guest commentator on an episode. There were a bunch of different teams of computers like the Saiyans or the Earthlings and they ran 15 week seasons and a post season to see who would win at the end. They had like over 10 seasons and was just a nice little niche corner of RU-vid that had a lot of dedication to a pretty cool idea

The piccolo v trunks match literally felt like how their actual WT fight would go

You could interpret the results as Piccolo channelling all of Kami's knowledge, Nail's martial arts training and experience and King Piccolo's aggressiveness and experience to win all of those battles

That round 1 Piccolo vs Trunks was so canon! Trunks being from a desolate future not knowing what a tournament is. Piccolo being a bad guy at heart and using the win as a lesson for Trunks to get serious. So poetic. Then for the next round to actual have a long battle for Trunks to get outsmarted by Piccolo in the end. These bots know whats up

Only just finished this now but man, dotto really knows how to hype up an event. I felt on the edge of my seat as he kept following every attack, every counter, every clash and somehow kept the hype going throughout. I absolutely love Doto's commentation, it's professional and hilarious, the energy he puts into it. But... Man i can't believe the Lobotomy got him.

I was never super into the bot v bot format when I played these games, There always had to be something more for me to make it interesting. Outside of a few tries here and there, and a game that had an official "coach" style mode for the bots (that I can't remember the name of) I didn't play them much. But when I heard Doto hyping up each character and going absolutely ballistic it got me into it too. Props to ya boss, had me on the edge of my seat!
