It's hilarious how people say stuff like "they would never pay that" and it's just like you said Caleb it's worth what someone will pay and the cars are getting ever more rare no matter which one of the Fox bodies. I have a triple black 5 speed 93 vert. and yeah I know everyone hates on the verts but when I saw it everything was there all stock, factory mufflers, smog pumps, cats, air silencer boot on the distributor, etc.etc.etc. I didn't want a convertible but when I saw how well it had been cared for compared to some of the others I saw I bought it. I think sometimes people put a don't want to sell it price on it and just to see what happens and then adjusts accordingly. Whenever you sell something the cheap skates always come out of the wood work, I mean who in their right mind wouldn't sell something for as much money as possible? I should’ve added this to the original post. I bought the car 15 years ago and the guy wanted 5500 bucks which was top dollar and a bit but again the car was in really good shape compared to what others I had seen so I gave the guy $250 Deposit came back the next day and got the car. I think people immediately look at the price and then just voice their opinion without even looking to see what shape the car is and if it’s documented or whatever and then just proceed to burn the person to the ground. What I did instead of cutting them off at the knees on the price, I would just come up with some generic reason that I was gonna look at other cars or whatever and not insult the guy. The person selling the car could be sentimentally attached to the car as well making it even harder to part ways with it. Nobody needs added drama and bs to an already difficult decision.
At foxtoberfest 2022 there was an 85 LX coupe. All original with only 840 miles. The car was never dealer prepped. The original center caps were still in the plastic bag.
I’ve got a 92 LX that I’ve completely restored with the exception of the original 4 cylinder engine that I still have but decided to put a 408 stroker in it instead. Not sure what it’s worth to others but it’s priceless to me so I guess it depends on the buyer and the seller as to what they decide it’s worth and both are in agreement and please with their selling and buying price.
Some nice coupes are bringing in big money. Colors have a lot to do with the values to. A reef blue black interior coupe will bring in some good money.
Yes. I forget which group but he posted it, and turned off the comments, for valid reasons. Someone then screenshotted it, posted that with your typical "OMG this guy is insane" type comment. Several well known names in the online fox community, including Caleb, were all arguing it's more rare than a Cobra and harder to replace. Oh course the poors were all out in large numbers posting their crack pipe gifs, etc.
A lot of truth in this video! I’m sitting on a mint 3k mile, all original (down to the tires) 92 Bimini w/ black interior. Not another one with my specs is known to exist.
I'd rather pay 30k for a built fox than 60k for a factory fox and that's exactly what I did. Shout out to the previous owner for sinking your money into it so I could get my 60k fox for 30k.
I’ve actually always preferred coupes , personally! They just hit different for me! Was oh so close to getting. A black, with tweed interior 93 cobra!! When they came out!! Even test drove the Darn thing!! Just didn’t have that credit just yet!!!
Definitely a notch above the rest! As a notch owner I always loved the notchbacks and would buy another one over a Cobra. I like the Cobras but I love the notchbacks.
Supply and demand... pretty simple. People really like the coupes and want them. They have a dream spec and there aren't any out there to buy. The guy with this car knew what the market would bear and he was obviously right on. That money is nothing for a LOT of people, and if preserved it will only appreciate.
It makes sense to me, and I'm not a big fox body fan, a car like that is a car to be collected. For anyone else you can find a lesser car, for normal money, to build and drive. Even then you should be shopping an sn95 because it's a much better platform to build. Mostly because you would need to add a lot of the fox body weight savings to handle even moderate power levels, so it doesn't bend, and you essentially have to replace the whole too end with all those parts to even get close to that.
I was watching this video with one eye and scroling on marketplace looking at my other eye and just seen the car you was talking about same add and everything .. its in hariman Tn if your looking for it .
I would NEVER pay that for that or one like it. You know not because I jate the car, in fact I love it. The problem with this is I'd be driving it and that's NOT good💁♂️ Oh, and I'd rather have a notch back 4 eyed over a 93, I'm just saying💁♂️
I'm on the poor side but you guys have to understand whats happening. The foxbodies that are left are in that price range. Just like the old mopars and 67 to 71 firebirds and camaros. What do you think war admiral and the silver dech coupe are going to sell for? Calebs car especially with that wing and the ride tech front suspension and gen 3? I wouldn't even talk to anybody for less than 60. The ksd notch. The white and blue notch on 20s. The syracuse orange coupe. The stalker vert. In my opinion are all 60 plus cars. You cant build them in today's market for less. I got 30 in mine and it will still be a shitbox. Lol.
I’ve got a calypso notch with a gen 1 aluminator and a whole bunch of custom stuff only thing is it isn’t boosted. I wouldnt sell mine for less than $75k. Have more than that in it.
Well I wouldnt pay it, heck I couldnt pay it! But Im glad they are getting it! Im keeping my fox period. It may not be as desirable but its the one I want. Thats what matters to me.
Don't matter how you try and describe it a fox will never be worth $60K. And I love these things and are my favorite cars!!! I've had probably 15 of these through the years and still have 2 right now but they will never be worth that much. People have gotten stupid with these prices and ripping everybody off!!
I wish I had my Blue 92' Coupe Super clean SSP(CHP) 5 speed, 93'Cobra heads,& intake, 5 lug conv.,18x 9 & 18x 10 Cobra R,Nitto NT555, AEM Brute force CAI, A/C blew, perfect interior Grey,no salvage, other upgradeds,
I paid high 7k for mine she was completely stock only thing it didn’t have was ac and stock cats short after the head gasket went tranny which I replaced my self. Old parts go bad especially lower intake manifolds to your cylinder heads which creates the rabbit hole I would not sell my mine for less then what I put in it.
When cars are sold at such a stupid and unreasonable amount such as a $60k Fox makes no sense to me. Yes the seller is trying to capitalize on his investment but also drives the market up and makes it difficult for the “average” to obtain one. I’m a GenX’er and grew up in the Fox era and also owned a few but the prices for these cars are absolutely ridiculous.
Why is it my job to make it easier for a gen-xer to buy a car he or she wants? Have you never heard of supply and demand? I guarantee you Ford is not going to lower the price of a 2024 F-150 4x4 to heal my hurt feelings!
@@NotchFox supply and demand? That’s obvious Business Economics 101. My point is that those cars are not worth the money they are asking. A $60k stock Fox? GTFO here 😝 So It’s a documented Notch with low miles? It’s only worth that to a collector. Not your average Fox enthusiast. If a seller can capitalize off of an insane high selling price then more power to them. Hell that’s getting close to an even more rare Grand National and you see what they’re getting for those.
Considering folks wanting 15 to 20 grand around here for rolling chassis with vin plate and title. Most of the rest available have obviously been crashed.
There are still really good, solid, hatches and verts out there for less than 10 grand. Maybe even a notch. Great drivers and fun cars, if you want one, you can still find them.
@@NotchFox notch is what I have been hunting down. Since I plan a full gut and restomod only limit I have is a sound body and clean title. My area most of the time trying to get a salvage or rebuild title registered and street legal is a massive hassle or you end up with a money hole the dmv won't clear for the street.
i have a 1989 fox body convertible ,i bought it for 2500 back in 2006 ,its just a hooby car for me,but i would never sell it,unlees they gave crazy money for it.
@user-mo9tu7wq1v it also wasn't the latest trend on the internet to have one back then lol. The prices have gotten ridiculous. They have moved out of the average man's price range and into collector car price range.
For 60k you could have an actual classic mustang like 70 or older and take it to car shows. I see fox body’s at shows all the time and everyone says they are too new still. I’d rather have an actual classic stang for that kind of money.
Buyer and seller on serious drugs. I wouldn't pay more than 15K. Even if I was a millionaire, I'd pass. I'd buy a newer Mustang for that. I'm practical, was brought up not to throw money around even if you have it
These are classic muscle cars the newest fox is over 30 years old now. That is literally considered a classic. You can get antique plates on anything 25 years old or more at least in VA you can. Got em on my 97 cobra.
I'd rather havea newer mustangs too I paid 16500 for my 07 gt500 with 100k back in 2020. It's at 131k now and has been making 750 wheel since 120k and it's a monster. I bought nice foxes for 5k and less back 20+ years ago I know it was a different time but it's hard for me to justify the prices on these foxes now. They've gotten out of the average guys price range and are now in collector territory. I like to mod and drive my cars I'm not a collector so it ain't for me.
Big time. I don't want undercoating. My light crystal blue coupe is a Canadian striper low option model without undercoat. Undercoat is ugly. Real collectors don't want undercoating.
@@Dabber422 my silver 85 GT has only 9500 miles on it. But it was undercoated when it was new and now I know what a big mistake it was. It’s also a zero option car. No air conditioning, cruise control or power windows.. just what came standard with the GT package
Have you ever asked a man dying of thirst what a gallon of water is worth? It can be $2, or it can be absolutely everything you have! How bad do you want it?
I wouldn’t pay anything over 5-10 grand on any kinda foxbody. Don’t care if it gave me a handy jay as I drove down the street! Anything more is classic muscle car money.
I know everyone thinks their car is worth a million bucks but it has gotten out of hand here what the sellers think that there fox's are worth. Rollers with not a straight panel on it with some goofy ass hood and an interior that has holes all thru it from those god awful monster tachs think that it is worth 6K and they state FIRM on the price! You got to be realistic, I know that every year there are fewer and fewer of them around but come on!
Im asking 10k for my 90 Gt , its got high mileage but never been in a accident. 5 speed . I know many people arnt willing to pay that but i really like the car and 10k is what would possibly motivate me to sell it but i dont need to sell it. Sure you can go buy a newer Toyota Camry for that but not nearly as fun .
Well actually it is a good comparison. If someone gripes about paying 10k for a old foxbody . What will 10k get you in the new car market an uncool econo box and if you go and try buying a new GT 10k is just a down payment on a 45k car that's the point .
I hope someday these foxbodies come back down in price before they are all beat to hell. I'm 52 and this was the car to have in high school. I really would love to find a 5 speed that is bone stock.
They're not getting any cheaper man and they aren't gonna get easier to find either. It's just the facts of the matter man it is what it is. The newest fox is over 30 years old now.
1957 chevy bel air at 40 yrs old were 10 times the showroom price! That equivalents to a 1985 mustang being $98k? What it sounds like is the foxbody is a good deal considering most come with a/c also? Do the math, oh it's true it's true. I've lived through it....
Yeah I’ll be the person to add onto the narrative, it’s not a $60,000 car. At all. Sorry. It’s a 225hp mustang, it’s stupid to spend that money. It’s becoming a rich man’s game nowadays.
This is what wrong with the foxbody guys or the fakes just adding to the fire.. you guy think it's the best car or mustang in the world.. lol this is what's wrong with world now.. everyone jumps on the wagon.. to fuck the market up. Lol can't wait to foxbody pricing drop hard and all you guys are going to have very expensive paper weight. And you guys are not even true car guys.. lol but still love the foxbodys lol
The prices have calmed down a little but sorry I don’t think they are going down too much more. The people that are nostalgic about the Foxbody now have disposable income.
@@redefinecycles I agree with you. My dream car is a Mach 4 Supra and the last generation of the RX-7 but I can’t afford one so I got my realistic dream car from my childhood which is a 1990 Coupe. The foxbody are still more affordable than a lot of cool cars from that era.
How about a 91 LX coupe SSP 1 of 375 built FAR more rare than any cobra a good 8.5 out of 10 looks wise. All power A/C blows ice cold 5 speed was an unmarked titanium frost color black tweed interior factory 160mph cert Speedo etc
