I'm not a big commentator, but I just wanted to say happy birthday Simon! I struggle with anxiety and often have trouble letting my brain relax enough to fall asleep, but I've found that putting on a video of who I refer to as "the silly sudoku man" to my friends is the perfect way for me to drift off- and then I get to rewatch the video when I'm awake so I can ACTUALLY see the end of the puzzle! You bring so much joy and knowledge to the world and to my every day, I would LOVE to bump into you at a party to excitedly discuss obscure interesting things, and there are some days where being One Of Your Very Favorite People who gets to know the secret is more meaningful than you might realize. ❤

I finished in 70 minutes. I never heard of puzzle a day, but the rules looked pretty cool. It was quite fun to build them out. It got a lot harder after that, but the use of the 45 clue to force r6c6 to be high and create a quintuple in column 6 was amazing. This was a beautiful tribute to Simon who is fantastic in every way. Great Puzzle and Happy Birthday, Simon!

Either way there's definitely potential for a sudoku-derivative calendar in that format.
There is no unique solution to any of the a-puzzle-a-day. Some dates have over 100 different solutions, while the minimum amount of solutions is 7 for a date

I got the "A-Puzzle-A-Day" puzzle for Christmas, the colorful acrylic version, which i love very much. And I've been solving it every day since the first of January. So this video was a very pleasant surprise for me. Happy birthday Simon 🙂

I feel like the eaiser way to crack the 67 s was that both of them in grey was pointing to the 2 in green. That gave you the 16 pair in pink which gave you the 7 in grey.
