My dog lives with us in our home, is the BEST place for a dog.

Excessive, over-done, impractical and looks absolutely UNCOMFORTABLE! And doesn't protect from the elements what-so-ever.

An elevated pad/rug or blanket for the puppy;-) All that work, nice! but the finishing touch is helping keep the animal dry and warm, soft bedding for the pup

The dog deserves much better :)

When the wood pallets, exposed to watering of the plants, rot; will the concrete in the palettes shift if not collapse on the dog?

Dogs are not meant to be closed off from family. They should be part of the family and able to wander around and not put in a corner locked up. If you were a dog, would you like to be locked up in a small area!

I'm hoping this was just a demonstration of creative building skills and not a real dog house because dogs want nothing more than to be with the ones they love: their owners. If the former, thanks for this demo...I learnt a lot from it, especially the 1:1 sand:cement mix to make the very dark silky mortar.

Nice and creative. Only one problem with the construction. House or dog kennel needs to be higher then the rained finish ground height .Or the inside floor height of the kennel could be raised to fix the problem. ❤❤❤❤❤ the job👍👍👍👍

Concrete floors are always cold. Floor must be wood and the gap between floor and concrete will stop rising damp

I think I would just sandwich some foam between two pieces of plywood for a roof it stay warm or cool. I know dogs would tear the plants up in 1 day😢

En Argentina sale muy caro el cemento, arena Y ladrillos . Generalmente los perro no se llevan nada bien con las plantas . El orin las seca..muy lindo el vídeo ..pero muy denso..

I love the idea of using cheap/recycled materials. And I love the creativity in your design. Using the space to grow plants not only makes the whole thing look better but it also utilizes otherwise dead space for food production. The next step could be using aquaponics to grow duckweed, as duckweed is an excellent supplement to the dog's diet. And dogs love it! I love the idea of using the bricks as a floor as the air pockets create some insulation qualities to protect the dog from the cold ground and at the same time keep the dog cold in hot weather. The same thing to the mortar walls as they function as a solar heat battery, capturing the heat during the day and releasing it during the night. My only concern is that the mortar is in direct contact with the wood. I am concerned that the wood might rot quite quickly. Some sort of water barrier would have been appropriate there. Either paint the wood or add a plastic sheet or bitumen. Anyway, the design signals great care for your dog. I love that! Good work. Thank you for the inspiration.

What happens to the wood when it's constantly wet from watering the plants? Hope there's no termites around. Clever design, but I wouldn't expect it to last too long.
