I'm actually glad this instance was able to make it into a wipe-a-thon video from the look of the normal mode. Keep up the awesome work TB! Looking forward for the full run.

@warnick150 It does benefit from flashburn, it's a fire DoT, all fire DoTs benefit from flashburn. Ghostcrawler (or one of the blues) mentioned recently that glyph FFB is a viable DPS option for fire, but it's all based on what stats you happen to have.

@andrefrbk What shield? You mean Mana Shield, the one that costs a ton of mana with a mana intensive spec? Let's not do that. Or are you discussing Mage Ward, the one that only absorbs fire, frost and arcane (not nature?). So either way, your suggestion isn't a good one.

@iurhviusdfavhi Well WoG requires holy power, which you may not have available, the cone heal won't help if people are being constantly knocked around and you're out of range... The point is that in that phase, hots are much better at covering the group damage and Pallies don't have any reliable HoTs (correct me if I'm wrong Paladins, I don't heal).

Glad to see a new video. I was worried you may have given up on youtube. I also noticed you have made frostfire bolt your main nuke over fireball. I guess something has changed to make it better than fireball which sucks as fireball fits fire mages better.

Noticed the bear popping his CD's at the wrong time, or too early, still, the second phase transition is quite the killer for a healer. This fight even sucks on normal, there's not much damage difference between the two :O.

@RsOsteskills You are quite right. I posted this on TB's fire spec video. Ghostcrawler said that it was the intent for fire mages that have decent mastery vaules to use frostfire bolt w/ glyph vs. fireball w/glyph. I'd like to believe that TB read it and said, "Bloody hell, he's right... *change glyph*" ;p

@RoyslandMafia BoM actually is a good spell, they combined it with BoW and made it a percent, BoK is the same as before, and they brought back the old mechanic where you could only have one blessing per pally on entire raid/party

@dappeh thats not completely my point. sure graphically it really hasnt changed. but also not enough has changed gameplay wise to make it worth playing for 5 years. its really the exact same game. they just sucker you into it by giving you mounts and shiny armor. I hear that gear is extremely easy to get now.

@Totalhalibut You're right, we no longer have any really effective HoT's. We have one at 83 That's an AoE HoT heal but that doesn't fall under reliable in my opinion.

The amount of times TB has said this, and some people are still saying it... BoM and BoW are now the same bloody thing!

@ghosthud1 well if thats the point, and the encounter shown really it >1 month old there is no point in showing it due to it being fixed. BUT, the encounter i witnessed in there did the same things, there was LoS, Clouds, Shield, 2 type Adds, heavy AE transition phase etc.pp. it just wasnt hard, maybe because we had a priest/shaman. ALso it wasnt like a hardcore heroic group but just a random lfg-pug...so im just curious why the struggled so much with the fight

@ughzean Wrath heroics were a joke. They were pretty much BC normal modes imo. I'm so glad that (most) heroics are going to be hard again.

So if those pilars lineofsight everything you can use them for the transition? It seams strange for blizzard to put in a boss that makes pally healers bad for this one moment. also cant you spellsteal disspell anything in this encounter? Normally you would expect that

Actually looking at it, the "BoM" buff appears to buff everyone in the group at once, could anyone please tell me what this new spell is? Why is the BoM (or old BoM) symbol on a mage? And what spell was used to cast it on everyone at once?

Ive been testing the PTR since now and i noticed that the classes wont expend any kind of mana doing single DPS to bosses at lvl 80, figured out that the only class with mana issues are the mages O_o, btw did u ever noticed the spam of holy nova can tick about... 1million? lool test it somehow in lvl 85 please :) or ask someone to..., your videos are awsome but try to give us a bit more feedback about the classes, ask Beta testers show us the DPS, tanking and healing issues and tatics

@Razzfazz87 Paladins have the new res aura, word of glory, beacon of lights, holy shock, their new AOE like healing stream totem, bubbles, hand of sac. Trust me paladins are not lacking tools to heal.

@Razzfazz87 True, but there is absolutely no point in that video where mana shield would have made the difference between wipe and no wipe, so it's a non-issue.

@TheGilmer Correct. The revisionists will have you believe that Wrath heroics were hard on release just like some of these. They weren't, they weren't even hard in the beta and I know because I was in that beta too (shoulda done vids but hey, my computer wasn't up to the task back then). With a couple of noteable exceptions (Loken being a prime example) Wrath heroics were facerolls that did not require CC and had no particularly difficult mechanics. A step back from TBC.

@6priz I was experimenting. I'll explain it in more detail in the full run. There are some arguments that it will scale very nicely with Mastery due to the stacking DoT. My initial findings are it seems viable but it's going to be gear dependent if you're min/maxing. Cast time and Mana cost are identical to Fireball.

@Razzfazz87 Wailing Winds is not affected by Line of Sight. The boss is entirely immune to interrupts, dispels and spellsteals.

I was gonna say how the paladin kept giving you might, but then I remembered they combined wisdom and might in cata. Good thing I didn't make myself look like an ass.

@Willettes1 Thats the answer! I killed him yesterday. Lineup: Priest(Heal), Rogue, Druid(Tank), Mage, Shadow. I had an wipeaton the instances before with failgroups. Good healing guy = the win :]

Technically couldn't you not kill that third add and just dps the boss down to dead? - even though it may take a long time (might actually be an achievement knowing Blizzard)

I would like to point out to Fury Warriors, since you would have to pop Death Wish to buff your damage to race go get the Glyph of Death Wish so it doesn't make you take any extra damage. Also probably looking at wanting like a good chunk of Mastery to extend those enrage effects as much as possible and taking both points in Field Dressing to make your Enraged Regen heal you for more and make your healer use less on you anyway.

From my personal xp this boss is a healer test when i did it we had a disc priest and we got him down in about 5 tries i think. Surprising enough for us zerging acually worked we nuked every add we got in p1 (didn't matter what type it was) and in p2 we ignored every thing but the boss. On a side not the mas res is a god send in 5 man runs atm, love it on my hunter saved a lot of times on wipes.

TB, thank you so much for these vids. They are a thousand times more informative than all the other "professional" vids that sites put out that simply say, "Okay, here you go. See? Easy cakewalk. Thanks for watching." If that were the case everyone would have the kingslayer title by now. Also, group rez ftw! And...I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's patch. I finally nail down my talent tree after all this time and Blizz destroys it. Grrrrrr!

@Kevashida well i have a shamanhealer myself but curiously enough i didnt think about it.. If he does nature dmg you can resist about 20-30% thanks to totems (did the hunter in this vid have natureres aura on?) and if you get earthliving up on everybody, put down the totem of healing and use your heals right (30% bonus heal after shock, 20% bonusheal on earthshielded) you should be able to keep everybody alive with critheals (30% goes to other person) if you keep riptide on yourself

Does he absorb storms from anywhere on the structure roof?(platform/whatever) Or does he have to be in close proximity? If the latter then just dragtank him away from the storms. Storms looked like they travelled roughly the same speed around kill the adds in phase 1 under a storm to get them all 3 in a nice bunch? (ignore this comment if everything is invalid due to my poor understanding of fight mechanics)

Has this been recorded some time ago? I've been twice to LCotT Heroic apprx one week ago, and the last boss hasnt been even remotely hard. I guess you biggest problem really is the healer. Ive been there with a shaman and a priest and it really wasnt hard at all. Yeah, the transition can be nasty but with a tank cd , and some member use iceblock, lay on hands or divine shield its not that hard. Dunno why you struggled so much with it. :/ But hey, keep on making you videos, i'm enjoying them!

This has probably been mentioned, but another potential aspect of the tactics, is positioning WHERE you kill the add mobs. For example, having them near where you can safely LoS (while still able to heal) the aoe, as well as spacing them out from each other, so it takes more time for the boss to actually reach them (or alternatively having them all in one spot so you can get it out of the way if going for a hard DPS race).

@TotalHalibut Nothing on the adds? Anyway you did kill him, and as you mentionned you dont kill the adds spawning the stormclouds and that there is an achievement connected to them. Im looking forward to it! the wotlk Achievements were hard with naxxgear and were very entertaining to do.. before the overgearing and nerfing. Love your videos, looking foreward to more. cheers

TB, when he enter phase 2 and knocks the party around my first idea was to try to LoS him, and for the few seconds some peope randomlyl fly behind the pillars in your video it seems hi misses the next knockback pulse, not 100% sure since most of you dont stay behind them, if its possible to Los it it would get alot easyer for a healer if the party position thems self good. this might be thing to test.

Interesting Boss fight, I fear only that the Damage dealers, which I most of the time have, will try to get the dmg buff, even if it raises their dmg they take. As long as they are Nr.1 in Recount nothing else matters, if they die, that means its the fault of the Healer. But i must say i get the fealing that Heroics are becoming raids but just for 5 people, which is in my opinion a good thing, lets hope you can´t overgear it.

@TotalHalibut I was bored one day, and made an extremely intense boss fight. I took ideas from the bosses featured in your wipeathons. If you could check it out, it would be awesome. This boss is hard; think Corborus with more than a couple million hp, tuned for a raid. Since i cant link, go to the site thottbot-legends and look for the Boss Fights thread.

Was just lookin over the toons on the screen..Holy CRAP, 63k mana!! I'm melting at the thought of that much mana on my shadow/holy priest!! If y'all haven't looked over the new releases for Cata..I can't wait to start makin' the 24 slot bags..wee more room for this pack rat to carry around! (Just hope it doesn't have a long cool down like my stinkin glacial bags).

@TheWalruspro theres a glyph that increses damage done by you Frostfire Bolt by 15% and your Frostfire Bolt now deals 3% additional damage over 12 sec, stacking up to 3 times, but no longer reduces the victim's movement speed, idk if it stacks with flash burn but i think it does so with this glyph its better than fireball

Why are there so many dumb comments on this video jesus. People don't ask questions like why does your pally have blessing of might or why are you using ffb instead of arcane. Clearly they wouldn't keep blessing of might on a holy pally unless there may be idunno A CATA CHANGE? And your asking why use ffb instead of arcane, maybe because its ya know better?

@SycronDarkeye Im pretty sure 5-man rading should be called such a thing if that is indeed their intent, so I dont think that will be the case. if anything I have assumptions based on what Blizzard has said that raids might indeed be as hard as 5-man heroics, and heroic raids will be the new "raiding". Just a guess but I have a good feeling about it.

@TotalHalibut Perhaps the Paladin could save Holy Radiance for the phase transition. It would be tricky however, because the range of Holy Radiance is only 10 yards. The party would need to stack up temporarily, and spread back out once the transition has completed.

All these reviews are just very well explained. But I have a little worrisome thought. I have mostly seen Dps Casters, whereas I prefer to play melee Dps. I was wondering how are they affected? Because some of the boss's, like in Stonecore need to be avoided from contact, unless I'm mistaken.

TB you know when you had the problem of your mirror images targeting Siamat? Try holding Ctrl and pressing 1 if an issue like that ever occurs. It works on all the DK pets even the Gargoyle which has no pet bar, not sure about mirror images though but worth a try. Anyways nice video

When I first tanked this boss on normal we wiped about 12 times, then I just said "screw it, put up as much nature resistance as possible." After we did that we actually downed him showing that resistances are really useful in these situations.

@Dazzll93 thes at 333 and that is Holy Light she is casting witch heals shit but costs no mana and flash of light is fast and heals around 10k noncrit but costs shitloads of mana, same with divine light but it heals even more costs same as flash but is slow

How long do the storms last once you kill the add or do they just stay up until absorbed? Wondering if you could slow down the kill of add #2 and #3 to potentially limit the number of clouds he has to absorb if they do dissipate.

@TotalHalibut. Protect & Ret pallys do not have any HoTs because they are built for Tank/DPS and when they can heal it's for a small amount. Holy is specced for better heal and I think Beacon of Light is as close as you can get to a HoT.

When the hunter rezzed you all i was on the verge of jizzing in my pants. As a hunter, feign death almost always prevents me from dying and i'd always joke about rezzing everyone. Now that you can... i just can't fuckin wait for a level 25 guild in cata

@musicfan4333 this is beta this group is pretty much testing this dungeon, and reporting any problems, so their comments and experience prolly made it easier for you made it possible for you to beat him in two tries

@TotalHalibut I think it's a good idea, especially after your mage tutorial videos. I know Blizzard change the way a lot of the stats work, and you'd help more than a few people by showing them which stats to look for.

I was up on the ptr testing mages and using the guide u made but I was wondering about how arcane missiles procs after using teleport and making portals, I thinks it's anoying wats ur opinion

@Schokolof unfortunately it hits the same, and FF bolt glyph is now prime, so it is optimal to take glyph of fireball for crit chance and ignore FFbolt, WHY BLIZZ WHY!??!?!?!?!?!

@woot835 Well, you can still kill KJ and illidan from BC. So i assume yes but they will make the titles feats of strength like the BC ones so you cant get it once the x-pack comes out

@njdss4 I too shall use TB's wipe-a-thon videos and successful boss beat-down videos when running these dungeons. Best to learn from the mistakes of others than make mistakes yourself.

Hmm seems like this fight is bugged they its supposed to work on heroic you get him to 50% cry a lot Alexstraza shows up claws him stares you down facepalms gives you loot then leaves.

@bobob239 check out wowheads cata proflier means u can grab ur charac from the armoury and then add on a few bits of cata gear that they've got the 3D models on your charac

Out of curiosity have you had a successful tankadin run? I'm having issues in the PTR and will probably as well on live tomorrow. I'm hoping that someone has figured it out.

I love seeing Tol'Vir becoming a hard instance, but i'd guess i wait till it get fully uploaded to 720p, but seeing a wipe-a-thon over the normal mode, then im satisfied :)

@kanerva2 actually if you would have seen other tb videos you would know that might and wisdom are combined into one buff. That buff icon is the might icon.

@misternef The FrostFirebolt Glyph is OP at the moment. 15% more damage and 3% more dot damage stacking 3 times. I'm assuming that's why he switched

Could you use recount on raid videos and toggle text on party hp bars as I want to know how much health tanks will generally have in Cataclysm :)
