“It smells nice!” Glad your two friends gave their expert advice! I just ordered one of these. I’m looking forward to the first whiff when I unbox it. 😊
On Monday June 1st at my 69th birthday, my wife brought me the 25T-ce. My first Ukulele. I'm so excited, can't wait til learn how to play it. I chose it out of many brands. I have a all Koa Taylor guitar. This will be it's baby brother.
I have a Córdoba 15cm-e and it's absolutely my favorite thing in the world! It's gorgeous in look and in the sound and I've gotten so many compliments whenever I play it.
Wow! I think I fell in love with this uke just by watching this video. I hope they sponsor you girl, although I know it's not why you made the video, it's obvious you love this uke, and we all know your love for music comes with sharing your experiences. Thank you so much. It's always a joy.
I bought the 20t ce, @ guitar centr and what truly sold me was the neck, its so beautiful, it screams to be play. never regret buying one. quality build is stunning. when i bought it new around $200-220 i think that was 5-6 years ago and now 2023 its still has a $200 value. thats amazing. highly recommend.
So great to hear that you still love your ukulele, and thanks for leaving a comment about your genuine experience. I appreciate you, and I hope you jace a great day 😀😀.
I play a little guitar and do instrument repair as a hobby. I had been thinking of trying a Uke so that I could do something with my young granddaughters. 1st video I see is this one. 2 days later I get a call that a guy has a Uke that has a cracked bridge, and he would like to sell it. Like new otherwise. It was this one! Thanks to you, I knew it was a good one. 40 bucks and 15 minutes work and done. Thank you so much for such an informative review. Sold on your vids now, you do such a great job. Having so much fun with this little instrument!
I absolutely love the Cordobas!!! I love the tones that come from them. My ukulele is a Cordoba 15CM. I named her Pearl. I hope to get the one they sent you some day. I'm a HUGE Cordoba fan!!! Thank you Cordoba for sending Katy this beauty, and for making my precious Pearl!!! So excited you got this lovely instrument, Katy!!! Will you be giving it to your mom? I loved seeing her with it. The look on her face!!! I had that same look every time I pick up mine. I love everything about Pearl!!!
Pam, I know you love your Córdoba, and I’m so happy that you do. Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts, and I just want to let you know how much I value you. Love you, Pam.
Very nice looking Uke.......actually, stunning......I didn't know about the neck vibration you talked about.....very interesting.....sounds mellow...I like that.......Good info on the headstock of this instrument too...Wow, you really do such a nice and informative reviews, Katie!......Your mom was so cute.....made my day.......:)
Greg!!! How the heck are ya?!?? Great to see you here! I’m glad that you liked this longer video. I’m starting to just work in trying to get all of the details in rather than make the video shorter. My mom is the best, so I’m glad that it made your day. She made mine, too.
I'd like uke upgrade video for the exact opposite reason. I have a basic uke and having no musical background (maybe even being a bit tone deaf), I usually don't understand the difference between ukes. I mean, why do I need a different uke and when will I need it? Maybe a video about how to upgrade can educate me on what to look for.
That was a great review Katie. I love the little details you put in, like your preferred string hieght and details about the head stock. That is a BEAUTIFUL uke. I have a Cocobolo wood tenor, strung with Fremont Black line Low g strings. A Kala Ebony tenor strung with Ken Middleton Living Water Low G strings. Yes I'm a low G fanboy. I dont own a Cordoba but you made me want one. So thanks for that lol. Low G just sounds so good to me. You can really tell the difference between the 2 sounds as one is solid wood and other is laminate. I love how you get different oppinions from different people to so it seems like its more honest good or bad. But thank you for your hard work and great reviews. You are the best.😎🤙
Danny! Great to see you here. How are you doing? It’s great to hear your opinions about instruments especially because you are a seasoned player. Low G seems like home every time I play one. I should restring one of mine and just play it. You’ve inspired me.
@@OneMusicSchoolthank you I wish I was seasoned its been a little over a year now so I got a long way to go. I really got to buckle down and learn to finger pick better. I'm hanging in there. Just trying to stay busy your videos help so much.
Wow,I’ve been looking at a quality tenor ukulele, this review is fantastic Katie...I can’t afford one but I will definitely keep this one in mind ...it’s gorgeous
Very nice review. I have 2 Cordoba tenors, one high g one low g. I also have a Cordoba Mini O which is either an over sized guilele or a mini guitar depending on your perspective. Thanks for all you do here!
Thanks for the review! I rely heavily on online reviews like yours since there aren't uke shops where I live. To answer your question, yes, I would like to have a video about upgrading to better ukuleles. I've already upgraded, but I would have loved to have had such a video when I was considering upgrading from my first beginner uke. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter. Thanks for the high-quality videos and great content!
Great to hear your feedback. I really appreciate it, and I really hope that it helps. I’m glad that you would like to see a video on upgrading your ukulele. I’m working on gathering the info right now, so I hope to have it done by February 😀.
Great review, Katie! I would love to see a video on how to upgrade from your beginner ukulele and what components, materials and design make an ukulele better than others. Also, you look so much like you mom! ❤️
Wow this review is great. You are very VERY informative and I like how you mix in other peoples' (respected) experiences as well. After looking for reviews for several ukes, this one pushed me over to get this uke as I've been looking to upgrade from my $50 toy uke to a "real instrument" for a good while.
Thank you Katie for the excellent review. You have sold me on this one. It sounds and looks nice. I am sold on Acacia wood ukulelies. I had an Alvarez made of Acacia and the sound was awesome. I like the fact that it is also set up with electronics.
Great info on this unboxing! I'm looking to upgrade from my Kala concert to a nice tenor. I value your professional opinion and advice so, of course, I'm looking forward to that video! Hope it's soon!!! 🎶
Great review. I've also seen this particular one pop up in many of your other features, reviews and tutorials, so your honest appreciation is obvious. Ordered one tonight, can't wait until it arrives.
Katie, First of all, thank you for all of your "Wonderful" Videos; you're such a (Brilliant) instructor. I just joined your "Silver Level" and I'm so impressed with everything on your site. I've just started playing the Ukulele; I purchased a Cordoba 30T (Tenor), that I love by the way. Thanks, again, for all of your time and effort in making these videos...
I have a most entry level Cordoba Protege concert size got from amazon on sale back than. What I like about it was NO SHARP FRETS, the binding was so nicely done better than my Islander I just got. The Satin finish was so smooth too, again better than my Islander. What I don't like about it was the high action at 3mm general factory setting $15 to lower it, 2.5mm to 2.75mm made a lot difference. The standard 35mm nut width was the reason I got a 38mm Islander. It was a lot easier for me to play, very personal opinion on this one. What I really want to say is this, Cordoba the quality is really there even to entry level uke. Yes Katie advice to next uke would really be a great video to do.
I just saw this video on my youtube feed, so I had to watch it. :-) I have 2 ukuleles right now, a Lanikai tenor, model MA-CET, shaped the same as the Cordoba in this video, and a Cordoba baritone ukulele, model 20BM. I've gotten to the point now to where I play the Cordoba baritone ukulele a lot more than the tenor ukulele. I guess I'm spoiled by the deeper tone of the baritone ukulele. It's interesting switching from one to the other because you have to remember the difference in the chords. As I'm sure you know, the G chord on the tenor is the D chord on the baritone, and sometimes that messes me up when I'm playing a song. I'm sure I'll get better with that as I play them more, but for now, I play certain songs on the tenor and other songs on the baritone, just to keep them straight in my head. One of these days I'm going to learn the finger picking....
Thanks for the review. I have been a semi professional sax player for over 35 years and during lock down I was encouraged by a friend to fall in love with the ukulele. Thankfully, I have avoided the corona virus, but have been struck down with UAS (ukulele acquisition syndrome) and so this model was acquired to sit along side my acoustic Mainland Tenor. Both are finished by craftsmen who obviously love their instruments. The Cordoba is great fun to run through my acoustic amp. I am starting to look at adding some effects pedals, perhaps that might be a subject for a subsequent video.
I would also like to ask, is it possible to make more tutorials for fingerstyle and fingerpicking pieces for people who have gone past the basics of ukulele? I really enjoy your past fingerstyle videos and it would be great if there were more
Great suggestion! I'm thinking about making an intermediate series meant for the people that are ready to move on from the basics. I just have to figure out how I'm going to do it or if I should.
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I just posted a tutorial for "Shallow" and here's the link. Thanks for your request. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JdhRwbLXQPw.html
Awesome! I have several students with the 15 CM, and my mom loves hers as well. I think it's a great uke for the money. That's so great to know that you like them, so thank you for giving us your opinion. This is going to help others in the future to make an educated decision.
☝🎶🏡 😎 review. Brilliant learnings here. That neck joint info is awesome to know. In your "upgrading your uke" future video will you explain about these tone's you speak of? I don't know what to listen for when people say a uke may enhance a high, mid or low tone. Also could you show what the pick up buttons do if we upgrade to an electric uke? Travis and Johnathan are great. Passed the smell test😂 interesting insights I hadn't thought about from them and wow they can play. Plus your Mom approves of the quality and playability, sounds like Cordoba has built a winner. It really does have a lovely sound and a beautiful timeless elegance. Thank you for this indepth, knowledge expanding review Katie. Happy weekend 🙏
Hi Katie, Thanks for this great review. I actually picked this Cordoba up used and it is lovely but being I newbie I really am not sure if the pick-up is broken or I am not using the correct amplification. I purchased this cord on amazon : Vention 3.5mm to 6.35mm Adapter Jack Audio Cable for Mixer Amplifier Guitar Male to Male Aux Cabo : and thought I could plug it in to my stereo speaker. Its not working.. Can you lead me in the right direction? Do I need a real amp? Is that the wrong cord? or maybe the pickup is not working. I will go head on to the music store for more assistance but thought it was just a coincidence that you reviewed the same ukulele today. and Yes it is VERY PRETTY:) Incidentally my daughter also plays the 15-CM and wont play anything else:) but I did get her for this for Christmas bc she is always stealing my Tenor. Happy New Year!
Great question. Yes, I suggest that you use an amp that is meant for acoustic instruments and an instrument cable. Not all cables are meant for instruments, and some amps are better for acoustic instruments. I used my fishman acoustic amp when I tried it out, and I had no problems. If you are playing live, try something called. Direct input box or DI box for short. If those don’t work, try switching out the batteries. I hope that helps.
I'm so glad that you liked it :). I put a lot of time into my videos, so I'm so happy that you watched. Yes, this was sent to me, and I'm very grateful. I do owe that you, the subscribers, because you have watched and liked my videos, companies have sought me out to review their products. Thank you.
Hi I just started watching your videos and I'm obsessed so I hit that notification bell!!! Also could you do a cover of Un Poco Loco from the movie Coco?
I'm looking for a Semi acoustic and I have covered the Ibenez UEW13MEE-DBO UEW Series Electro-acoustic, Thre Freshman UK spruce Electro-acoustic and the Luna High Tide Koa Concert Ukes. But his one seems to have the tone, looks and playability I am looking for. Many thanks for the review It has helped me make my mind up.
Hi Katie, I was thinking about buying a Ukulele and taking lessons to play it, I saw this video and how you really liked the Cordoba 25T-CE, so I was thinking of buying one. I have a couple of questions . . . I live in Northern Nevada where the humidity is low, most days it's between 25% and 30% humidity, would this cause any problems ? Would this Ukulele be a good one for a beginner ? I really liked your video on this, and really respect your opinion ........ Thanks
me again ............. I just checked the average humidity in Reno, and here is the relative humidity in my area between 30% and 40% in the summer months ............. and the rest of the year is between 40% and 50% ................. Thanks again
Hi Katy! You are an excellent educator. I love your videos. 😍 How do you feel the action is near the nut? I recently bought a very pretty UKE with similar price and features from another brand. I like everything about the uke except the action is too high; I’m not sure I want to put more money into it to have a luthier fix it. (My understanding is that it can get pricey to fix both nut and bridge.) I think I could handle sanding down a bridge but don’t want to tackle the nut myself... It may make more sense to buy a different uke. I also like my action to be at 2.5mm at the 12th fret. I’m just looking for your thoughts. Thank you! Terri, from Minnesota
Great question and I’m so glad that you liked the video. I would go to someone to get a proper set up. First, just ask how much they think it will be and if they think anything else needs to be done to the instrument. From there, you can decide if it’s worth it. I don’t sand down my saddles or nuts because I don’t want to ruin my instrument. I just take it to the people that do they sort of thing all day everyday 😀. That’s just my opinion. I really hope that helps, and I hope you have a great day.
Thanks for the excellent review. Can you tell me how you lowered the strings. Did you have the bridge sanded a little or does the neck have a truss rod? Thanks
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it. To lower the action, you will have to most likely have the bridge sanded down. Most ukes don’t have a truss rod unless it’s a Pono ukulele. There might be other ukes that have truss rods, but most do not. I hope that helps.
I know it has been a LONG time since this one, but I have been looking into buying either the Cordoba 20TM-CE or the Cordoba 25T-CE, do you happen to have an opinion on which I should move forward with. There seems to only be a $50 difference between the two. Thanks!
Hi Katie. Love your channel. I have the Cordoba 20TM-CE and was wondering why on many ukuleles, the pickup jack is offset and not centered on the bottom of the instrument. Are there any advantages or disadvantages of this? Thanks!
IHave a loaded question. I am looking at this Ukulele and the Flight Princess Diana TE tenor or the Flight Victoria EQ-A tenor. Which one would you recommend?
I'm very fond of the rope style binding. I would love to see a video of what to look for in an upgraded ukulele. That would be a big help. I have a Cordoba concert. It has a cedar top and acacia laminate body. It sounds great especially for fingerstyle. What do you think of 5 string ukuleles? I am intrigued by those.
lol .............. one more question if you don't mind ............. what do you think about the Fender Rincon Tenor Ukulele, and between the 2 (the Cordoba 25T-CE and Fender Rincon) what would you choose ............. Thanks
I have a soprano ukulele. And I saved money to buy a bigger ukulele but I don't know if I should buy a concert ukulele or a tenor one. What would you prefer?
I’m pretty late to the party, but could you show how to do that strumming segment at 6:20? I’ve no real music education. I’m more of a learn by being shown/doing type☺️
Hi and thanks for watching 😀. I do have a review on several Córdoba ukuleles in one video that compares the most affordable to the most expensive. It also contains the 35T, so I’ll link it below. Thanks again and have a great day. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OQQjv376m3Y.html
Hi! Thank you so much for all that you do for the world of music. My Cordoba just came today. I ran my hands down the neck and at the fret lines it's almost painful. Is that normal? Is yours like that? I'm a little more than disappointed.
Oh no!!!! I’m so sorry. Im pretty sure the return policy is good. Could you check for me to see if you can get your kinda back and email me at info@onemusicschool.com? I have an idea how to make it right.
Philip’s Music good choice, I believe it’s exactly the same with mahogany top instead. I have ordered this one and I’m excited to get it as I really respect the opinions of seasoned musicians like her that aren’t only Hawaiian brand fanboys. Shouldn’t have to spend a mint to get a quality instrument. Thanks to companies like Cordoba, Orangewood, and others.
It’s definitely more affordable for the craftsmanship and materials it’s made out of. It depends upon what you value. An ukulele made of laminate is going to be more affordable because the materials it is made out of is inexpensive. You also have to factor in all of the labor costs and profit margin. If you have a budget and you’re looking for your first uke, this May kit be the one for you;however, Córdoba does make student models or models more suitable for beginners. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask.
