She didn't forget the card he did whats called a "force" by ruffling through the cards that quickly he briefly stops on one for a little longer than the rest in order to inadvertently force them to pick it. However the girl didn't even look at the cards she simply thought of one in her mind and choose it so the forced card didn't get picked thus the trick failed.

His routine is so much better when he is out of the 'mysterious' character he does on tv and is just himself like this.

For the 2nd trick, he was gonna force the Queen no matter what. That's why he asked for 2 girls so he can say "she's holding her card"

can we acknowledge that he purposesly added a failed gag to the end of the second trick to make the humour of not quite getting it right the first time around seem like it was part of the plan.

Love it DB... All magicians with experience have that fast recover "go to" trick save... I mean, it's not the result we want but we always know how to at least get it right at the end. Love it!!!

Wow the second trick is genius. I think I figured it out. Basically he forces the first two cards and then has the other girl pick the queen that we see in the end. He needs her to pick the queen specifically and not the 2 of clubs, since we find out the queen is holding the two of clubs in the art of the card. The girl doesn't fall for the force at first, so he makes her do it again by saying "no one ever does switch". Now she has the queen, and David's job is done. He has her give it to the other two women and tells them to switch it back and forth. See, the important part of the trick is that the trick works EITHER WAY. It doesn't matter who gets the card since, technically, she is holding both cards. Going back to the beginning of the trick, he asks for two GIRLS. This is important because he keeps saying, she is holding the card. he changes the meaning of "She" from the women who picked the cards and the queen on the face of the card. So even if the other woman would have ended up with the queen and turned it over, he could have done the same reveal and just said, no I said SHE is holding your card and revealed the queen had the two of clubs. Obviously the way he did it gets a better reaction, but sometimes you have to take that risk for an amazing trick. What a genius

I think the trick was good. He messed it up but the change from the ace to the 6 was awesome

He did not mess up. The first magic trick was a part of the second magic trick. Magicians intentionally do what appears to be a failed performance as a prelude to a much greater performance because it will create a stronger psychological impact. Example is he would intentionally choose the wrong type of color (or any other element) asking the audience "is this the color (or object) you have in mind? " The audience replies NO, (laughing thinking that the magician failed). Then he would focus on the very same object, show some sort of magical gestures, and eventually turn that object into whatever the spectators have in mind.

Wow this is hard proof that the audience is in on it . That's how he does it !
