Definitely a Rhesus, I was thinking possibly a previous pet, and was shaved. Then released into the wild. This animal looks like the ones that are owned.
I loved that you used Sweet pea in your comparison of the three different breeds of mechanics. I have periodically watched his progress from birth to now much like the troops in your neck of the woods. They've allow ed him in many like him to get like that.
Well, its not that anyone actually "allowed" him to get that way. They are wild macaques and there is no one who cares for them or anything. Many macaques in those troops at Angkor Wats have been morbidly obese for many, many years (well before there was any such thing as VOs there recording them) due to the thousands of tourists who visit on a weekly basis. There are so many vendors that park and set up there just to sell food to the visitors to give to the monkeys and they have been fed a lot of junk by the tourists for a long time!
@@PrimateProductions Sweet Pea is personally sought out by many people. The VO's and "fans" stalk him. They bring him birthday cakes, full bunches of bananas, dragonfruit, milk..you name it. Whether they allowed him or made him is the question. He has drive by service! None of it is natural. He can barely move as it is.
@@comet1227 whether they allowed him or made him is the question?? What are you saying, i don't understand! I was not referring only to Sweetpea because as I mentioned this has been a problem with numerous macaques there for a long time...and none of it is natural as it is all a result of people feeding them.
I loved the way you described their hair as they look stupid because they really do. As far as the bald girl she's pulling her hair out. You can see her doing it in the video. I've seen Gypsy do it too but obviously this girl is far more extreme
She is definitely not a Bonnet macaque, her tail is shorter and look at those big feet. 😂 Seriously, it appears as though she has some kind of skin issues or like others have mentioned she has an OCD, she is pulling at her skin & hair. Also, a bonnet has something of a part in the middle of their head along with their receding hairline and this macaque doesn’t. She’s a rhesus. ☺️
@C Bea that is only because I had already addressed it in another place and did not realize that this was here jackass! If you knew enough to say I replied to "everyone's" comments then you would have known that I had already answered this question!
@@comet1227 no that was not what I said, no need to put words into my mouth. I said that excessive grooming that results in alopecia is not one of the ways that OCD affects macaques!
She looks like a hybrid Bonnet and Rhesus. The tuft of fur at the top of her head is very thick, like the fur on a rhesus macaque’s body. However, but the tuft is quite dark like the color on a Bonnet macaque. As for her bizarre appearance, she’s definitely removing her own fur.
@Em why would she only pluck her front ,why not her arms, lower body? And how is she plucking in straight lines?ie:forehead,hairline.. Honest question.. because I see her picking at her face.
I agree with many posts. I think it is a Rhesus with some kind of skin condition. Bonnets have a part in the center. Her head is smooth like Rhesus with no part
Perhaps it's from an abandoned pet release, from a few years back? The Monkey Savanah (YT channel) group/hybrid troop is made up of long tails and pig tailed varieties, but once accepted into the small troop, they seem to mostly get along. (It is my firm belief that if one adopts an orphan monkey, it should be a life time commitment, or like the Vervant monkey foundation in Africa, the orphan should be added to an accepting troop, and therefore have the education and skills it will need for survival in the wild).
She's obsessed with plucking her own hair!! For sure around her face for some reason! So strange I would love to know what make's some of them so over the top about plucking? Also that they seem to love to eat the hair of their own or other's like Gypsy does?! I go with full blooded Rhesus!
It looks like a Rhesus, which for some reason medical or otherwise has lost her facial hair as well as her hair on the front part of her body. She's still a lovely monkey. There's no reason to label her stupid.
That hair style reminds me of the Nepalese soldiers, who used to be the Hong Kong border patrol, etc. before the British power transfer back to China, some decades ago.
Agreed for sure. Also, it looks as if she is plucking the hair from her face, chest, and shoulders region. Which I believe is known as Trichotillomania in humans.
That's a bonnet macaque mixed with a rhesus macaque but it certainly isn't a pure rhesus macaque. Lol, the face and eye setup is different and the way the hair in the top goes forward like a fake toupee... these locals will buy a monkey from somewhere then when they can't control it release it them they can interbreed with any macaque basically...
She is pulling out her own hair . I use to know someone who did that . She had to wear wigs , cause she pulled out her own hair . It's some kind of nervous disorder , they can't stop themselves .
Hahahaha I really lmao when he said the only difference between the two kinds of macaques are the ones with the tuft of hair on their head makes them look rather stupid. That was priceless and I’ll have to agree!
I'm just seen this video. I'm being watching this channel maybe 3 months now? So I basically new. My opinion this is a Rhesus Macaques. I thought could have been a hybrid but reading about Macaques Bonnet and Rhesus , is unlikely. Rhesus has a long history of aggression with Bonnet Macaques, they actually drove them out from many parts natural habitat (Southern India). Rhesus can have members with rare looks. So maybe this monkey is one of These species.
LOL Think the naswer is at 5:05. Remember Knotty's bald spot? Looks like she goes in for Gypsy's style of gromming: plucking out hairs, except she's far more extreme.
When you said they look stupid I almost died because whenever I see the bonnet capped macaque I always think of Jerry lewis in the nutty professor. Thats what they remind me of
Maybe she is a plucker, I think she is just a regular Rhesus who has OCD and pulls out her hair. She is missing fur literally most of her front and the front of her arms. I have noticed a few monkeys on monkey hill that have plucked half their head fur.
Just an FYI for anyone who might be interested. There has actually been quite a bit of research done on alopecia (hair loss) in macaques because it is fairly common to see. It is not always from excessive pluckingbut can also occur due to a lot of other reasons, insufficient nutrition, stress, skin conditions, age, etc.!!🙂
She plucked her hair in a perfectly straight line on her arms and both sides of her head? That’s talent! Maybe she can lace the male monkeys in the troop up with sick fade
I was going to say the same thing. Someone close to her must have shaved her, cause it's to perfect not to been done. ( this remark is not at Arroz, cause he would never do something like that. I want to make that clear. )And the new hair growing back is itchy. We know the feeling of hair growing back, and it is itchy at first.
@@scottwhitlock9481 Thank you, but I do agree someone shaved her. It's just to perfect and it goes down her chest and her arms and stops at the elbow. It's a shame that it happened. But that's just my opinion. I hope someone else has a better logical opinion. Ty for your reply.
@@nightcritterz I respect your opinion and at the same time...... that's too perfect for her to just plucked it out. I know this video shows her plucking but why is she plucking?
She spent most of the video picking at herself. I think she pulls her hair out, like a stressed bird plucking it’s own feathers. She’s pulled the hair that she’s able to reach easily. Probably just a nervous habit.
I'll say this for Arroz Marisco, he seems to be the most profession of all the monkey lifestyle Y-Tube producers I have seen in the last 6 months, neither interfering nor staging events, but simply documenting these fascinating distance cousins of mankind.
The tale tells the story. She is a rhesus. If you look at the one grooming her it would look the same with the same hair removed. She has alopecia on her face dcheels and neck. It either falls or she pulls it out. It made me take another look back also lol The tail usually tellss tee tale. When hybrids are born they have a medium tail. There are always variations to each species on the face and head as well. Pig tails have short thick tails and distinctive head shapes. Most will show a milder form from of hair on the face. The newest additions look almost exactly alike except subtleties are there.
I say rhesus- looks like she has something going on causing her to pick her hair. As much as I’ve watched I’ve never seen one pick their hair the way she is. Maybe some kind of skin/hair conditions- or even a nervous type condition.
If you look real close it almost looks like that monkey has been shaved. I seen a channel in Vietnam where she shaved her monkeys face, chest, arms, eye brows & part of its head.
Corrections, the scientific names of the crab-eating macaque and rhesus macaque are actually Cynomolgus fascicularis and Calidopithecus mulattus respectively, also, the correct scientific name of the bonnet macaque is actually Indocebus radiatus.
"What the f*#k is this monkey doing here In Monkey Hill"? 😜 Judging by the looks of her med. length bushy tail, I think she is a typical Rhesus macaque with a unique hairstyle going on. 😎
How did they get there. Yah I have watched wild life of the ones you showed first. They on the program seemed mild nanered. Some one may have had it for a pet and dropped it there.
She's what is called a Hybrid I would guess. One of her parents was a Toque Monkey, some people call them Bonnet monkeys but they're still macaques. How that monkey ended up in Hong Kong is definitely a head scratcher! They have some very strong physical features that will take many generations to breed out. Rhesus macaques are softer, more rounded and much more beautiful. The Toque monkey isn't built for comfort she's built for speed and they fight to hold their ground!! The worst part about them is they're babies are so ugly you can't help but cringe just a little the first time you see them!! The poor little ugly things do grow on you though.
Lol...though she is definitely not a very handsome gal she is definitely not a bonnet macaque! Their faces are much different and they have a very distinct look that she does not have. This gal has a Rhesus face but is just missing all the hair along side her face which makes the hair on her head stand out more I think!
She must’ve been an abandoned pet. She kind of looks like a mix of bonnet and Rhesus but in realityZ it looks like she was shaved by a human! Is it possible she is a rhesus who was a pet who was shaved? I’ve seen on other monkey channels some of the owners shave their monkeys to make them appear more human like. ThAts what it looks like to me. That or she’s suffering from alopecia and her hair started falling out in a very strange pattern. I’m going to go with she was shaved. If you look at her color pattern she is very rhesus like with the more golden hair at the bottom. Her face however is definitely more Bonnet looking but that may just be appearing that way because she is shaved. I just don’t see it being anything other than she was shaved at some point and dumped as a pet. The only thing throwing me off is that you say she’s been like that for a while. Why isn’t her hair growing back?? I need to rewatch this!
Her tail is like a Rhesus though, she is missing hair for sure, either alopecia, as you suggest or she has been pulling it out for some reason. You see her picking at her chin quite a bit. If she has been accepted by this troop she must have been around long enough for the shaved hair to grow back in so I don't think she is a dumped pet but I'm just guessing .
@Em how wound she pluck her hair out in a absolutely perfect line on her arms??? Don’t you think if she was plucking it would be a bit more sporadic in nature? I mean and how did she know to only pluck the sides of her head but not the top?
@@frogspit7030 I rewatched and realized he said it has only been a month since he had originally met her. A month isn’t all that long and got notice there is some peach fuzz in the bald area. Probably about a months worth.
I like appearance and see many differences from the others, live the "clean shaved" look, ears are different as well as skin tone. Yeah new breed! Would like to see a baby of this one.
She's Rhesus. She has had medical or experiment work? She appears to have a deep scar right under her hairline? Thankfully, she has a good home. She's magnificent!
She is pulling out her hair and eatikg it like gypsy does to her children. Some type of nervous disorder, I knew girl that actually did this until she noticed the bald spot on her head then she stopped.
There's nothing stupid about this female bonnet macaque (or possibly a hybrid.) On the contrary, she's quite regal & must be high-ranking. One wonders how she popped up in Monkey Hill Road in the first place. . .was she abandoned? 🙈🙉🙊🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸
IMO she is a Rhesus Macaque that has either lost or pulled out her hair, resulting in an appearance similar to a Bonnet Macaque. My reasons for believing this... 1. She has a short tail. 2. She is similar in size to the Rhesus that was grooming her, a female Bonnet Macaque would be a fair bit smaller than a Rhesus (about 3lbs and 10cm). 3. Although her hairline is similar to a Bonnet Macaque, she does not have the distinct part down the centre and her head hair is not darker than her body hair. I don't know if it's possible for her to be a 'hybrid' or mixed species, possibly the offspring of an ex pet that had been abandoned on Monkey Hill, but I think she is most likely a Rhesus, unique in appearance!
0:58 - 1:41 I was wondering why Sweetpea was acting like that in other videos, a stranger 'you' were there filming him lol, he's obese not muscular but he has lost a lot of weight, his hind legs are disabled because of long term obesity. If you want to video the healthy males Jack, BJ, Donny, Sweetpea's brother Polino or Maddix would have been a better long tail macaque. Sweetpea is funny
Looks like she has been shaved our she is mixed half bonnet and the other half Rhesus. She just doesn’t have the full features of a bonnet to me. Bonnet are cute in there in a weird kind of ways. They have a really neat documentary on Disney
Please please I can only hope she is fixed . I love all animals . but I am sorry to say she not what I would want Dopey to breed with 😜. Bad enough those long tails are to close to the Rhesus monkey as is . Some dummy must had thought it was a good idea to dump the poor girl thinking it was fine . 😡 I believe you are right. Thank you for sharing Arroz 🦋☮️🌻💜🕊🐒🐵stay safe and well.
My husband says if you are looking for a name for the Bonnet Macaque looking one, may he recommend Billie Rae? (As she looks like she's wearing a mullet) lol.... ( For a reference look up Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus from the 80's. 😁
Her hair looks like Moe from The Three Stooges, the strange thing is it flows down her back like a lions mane which makes her look much different than a Rhesus. Her face is pale. Then her age and being part of a troop is even more weird. I can't call it.
No a bonnet has a completely different face. This monkey has a Rhesus face just missing the hair all alongside the face. It definitely does not have a bonnet face which is very distinct
@@chelledoll321 I agree 100% just because she has high-ranking doesn't mean she still doesn't get stress although and all the studies but they've done the higher the ranking the less stress they exhibit so this one kind of weird it doesn't make much sense she is being groomed by another monkey and you just don't see low-ranking monkeys getting groomed a lot but whatever her hair plucking her hair out and it's an OCD trait if you asked me just my opinion
