We are going to the Hartville Thrift Shoppe at 938 W Maple St. in Hartville, OH and then we head South into North Canton and Canton to visit 2 Goodwills. The prices between Hartville and Goodwill are drastically different! Plus Goodwill has changed its "incentive" programs. Come check it all out with us!
I promise to share all the information about what I'm picking, how much I'm paying, and what I think I will make on any item that I sell on eBay, on Nixnax.net, or in a sale here on RU-vid!

It was such a huge coincidence, that Becky from Vintage Viking Thrift (I said her channel wrong when I mentioned her 🤦🏻‍♀️) … had just shared with us when she found that bowl! It wasn’t even a week before! So I recognized it right away! Hahaha! I think we could all use some cheeky cream! 😂💕🤗

See if your Library has a bookstore. I volunteer at my local library bookstore and we charge $1.00 for Hardback and trade paperbacks and .25 for all other paperbacks.

This is why I no longer shop at Goodwill. The last time I went to one was over 6 months ago & I did exactly what you did- looked around, got annoyed with the prices & then walked out. I absolutely LOVE the sewing drawers, but understand why you didn’t get them. I also like the metal elephant bowl & that weird looking hermit crab, lol

You can buy books at your local libraries really reasonable. Also at the Mission thrift stores in Orrville, Wooster and Berlin.

Hartville Thrift (the first place you went) has a whole room of books. I do crafting and found old sheet music for a really good price. I would donate and buy from them rather than the Goodwill.

Some of these Hartville prices just floor me at how awesome they are...that perfume bottle for $3 Wowy Wow Wow! The Scandinavian luminary for $1 and the wall pocket flower frog!!!!! 😵 Bummer on your Canton Goodwill...most of mine are similar to that one.

I know!! That’s why it’s on my regular rotation! Amazing prices! 🤗 The Goodwills South and North of me are raising prices and experimenting with their incentive/loyalty programs and I don’t think they are making the kind of money that my local county Goodwills are making by keeping prices lower and keeping with the good loyalty program that they have. You’d think they’d have a positive influence on the others. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You still found some great items with the two stores that flopped!!! Happy for you!! Well, we are getting a few inches of snow starting late afternoon as rain and then changing over to snow. I'm right on the edge of either 0-2" and 2"-4". First real snow of the season. I got quite a bit of shopping items in one of the cars, and I still want to cut down some sloppy 4"-5" tall dried up perineals. So I'm heading back outside for awhile!! I went to Savers yesterday afternoon with a coworker from NWA. (NorthWest Airlines) Spent $100.00 and almost all for me!! That wasn't my plan, but I kept running into something I just had to have!!! I got a really neat Jesus last Supper. It's a rectangle, almost an inch think off glass the the supper inside the glass and I believe it was glued on to a beautiful red oak wood. I might take a picture of the two religion scenes I bought! Got a Columbia 2 piece winter jacket, a brand new vest, brand new summer dress, brand new top I would where to a wedding or fun date if that ever happens again, etc. It was fun!! Oh 3 pair of shoes. Brand new sketchers like a clog with a pretty lining in them, but a short heel perfect for right, fit well. Brand new black knit like tennis shoes, love air holes getting thru tennis shoes!! Then another pair of Sketchers with it looking almost like a tennis shoes, flat with an elastic on front going from one side to the other, a couple of them on the front and you just slip your feet into them. Brand new shoes, at $15.00 + $3.60 + $3.60 = $22.50. How can you beat that!?! But I need a new pair of hoes like I need another hole in my head!!!! I Love $40.00 off. My problem, I love buying for others,and I did pretty good yesterday by the time I was leaving,I put quite a bit back because of going nuts on myself!! Ok ok!!! Way too long!! Happy Valentines Day to a really Fascinating Gorgeous Couple!!!! Have a Wonderful day together!! Or when ever you decide to quit work and be together!!! 🤗❤️👍💕❤️💗💕💗 I cannot fix my typing with the note this long. So you are buying it as is!!! 🤣

Went thrifting last week after the store had been closed for a few days. A little short woman ducked under my arm and not only grabbed the piece i was about to look at but she also grabbed my cart and started to take off. I said “hey, not my cart”!

My sister got those bumble bee plates in a “picnic red and white checked tablecloth pattern with ants crawling on them”. They were not cheap. So you got a great deal on them. I think she paid $20-$25 for four or six plates. I just picked up my mom the little teapot trinket dish. I paid $1. You got an even better deal.

There is a wonderful expensive body cream called Sol deJaneiro BumBum cream. A lot of companies try to duplicate them without much luck. Their smell is divine. I’m guessing the Cheeky cream (get it? Bum Bum and Cheeky?)was another dupe. It does smell delicious and I do buy a big jar every six months. Totally worth it.

Look up Little Free Libraries in your area, great free books to feed your Moms reading addiction. And they are a great place to leave your books, Goodwill is nuts with their book pricing!

I'd pay up to 10 bucks for a good read....Now days books are so expanve to buy new ..Mind you i keep most of my reads or lend out . Never get them back lol or .give as gifts lol Great to sell at hotels airports or train stations subway transits...etc....

I think my mom reads 2-3 books a week. At $10 a read that would be expensive. She would lean on the library if she didn’t have thrift shops for books. She got about 10 books on Friday from this Hartville store. 🤗

Goodwill bookstore? Wow! I live north of Pittsburgh, PA. The Goodwill stores around here still have books and are priced by hardback and paperback. Also, the prices around here are going up. Clothing use to start at $2.99-$4.99, about 2 years ago are now $5.99-$9.99. Everything else use to start at 99 cents is now starting at $2.99. Even donated things from the dollar store has the dollar stir tag for$1 and a $2.99 (or higher) Goodwill tag. I prefer going to either the New Castle and Hermitage Goodwill. Much better prices, selection, cleaner organized stores, and the people that work there are so friendly. One other place I like to go to is the Humane Society thrift store in Beaver Falls, PA. Better quality donated items, very good prices, and even cent goes back to the Humane Society of Beaver County. Love your videos and your mom would be so much fun to go shopping with.

You have no idea!! She had a cart that was towering full of stuff and she was so obnoxious! She would exclaim loudly for all to hear that she was not a reseller (who cares) and that if anyone ever asked her she would say 1) “are you friends with my husband?” Or 2) “have you seen my house!” (Actually kind of funny.)

My local Goodwill sells all books for like $4 which is steep imo for older, used books. They dont go through alot of stock and I will only buy if its something I have been looking to collect.

WOW what a BEAUTIFUL blue glass bottle w/ stopper- THATS a SCORE for sure!! 🤩 But WOAH goodwill is GREEDY for that bookstore🙄- I'm sorry but that's awful. I agree with you & your mom! We have a Mr K's used book store here in South Carolina that gives cash & store credit for trades- so at $4-5 a book that wouldn't fly - avid readers like your mom, would just go to Mr K's. and trade.

If that’s true, that aren’t watching mine or they might realize that they are thinking about things the wrong way at some stores. They are a “thrift” shop that should serve the community. I definitely agree with your remarks on that bookstore. I never pay more than $2 for a hardcover. What authors does your mom like. I read at least two books a week and I would be happy to save them for her if I don’t collect the authors and then drop them off during our camping trip.

Not sure what's going on with Goodwill and their books. I pulled a children's paperback books at the bins and at checkout it was 3.49 a book which is ridiculous. They also said they were going to open a bookstore. If that's the case on the prices, they can keep their books. Just sayin.

At first it looked like a bins trip with all the grabbing from the cart😮 in the third store, for $15 they could have checked and taken out the corroded battery. Yuck.

It gets a bit chaotic, but usually people are very polite at that shop. 🤗 I know! Both of those clocks were very overpriced! And you’d think they would examine them and make sure they work if they’re going to put premium prices on them! 🤔😊

All's fair in saving and thrifting apparently to that woman grabbing off the cart when it was still moving. No patience with resellers, though. I like watching videos more of people just thrifting for themselves and their families.

I can’t watch resellers who shop aggressively, or “brag” about how they had to elbow their way through an estate sale to get a blow mold… 🤨 No thanks. I like to show what a thrifted life looks like as well as the kinder side of reselling. 😊

Usually the people are polite at this place. We have a nice Goodwill Bins too, where I rarely run into rudeness. :)

Stop!!! Goodwill support. Find smaller shops to thrift. I go to flea mkts. Thrifts that actually help people, such as battered women and such. Goodwill is ridiculous. They had a pair of Rock Revival jeans marked at $50...really Goodwill??? Now they take the good stuff and sell on line. Sorry, first time on site and a rave. Like your stuff and look forward to more.

Hello! Thanks for stopping by! I don’t mind the rave. 😊 Not all Goodwills are run the same way. The Goodwills in my county are pretty great. The prices fluctuate a little, but we have a loyalty points program that awards 35% off coupons. I buy enough from them that I am usually shopping with that discount. 😊 I agree with you, there are many places to hunt. When people tell me about how bad their local GWs and thrift stores are, I remind them. 🤗
