Colleen I just wanted to say, on the day of the show/livestream, we found out my Nan had passed away. After our tears, having to see my Dad cry, I asked if I shouldn't put your show on, if it was inappropriate, but my Dad said we should watch. For context my Dad loves watching your videos with me, we've watched them all together for a while but particularly since the pandemic started. Anyway, long story short, hearing my Dad crack up watching your show, him having that brief respite from a very hard day, was truly a gift, and while I know it wasn't the point of the show, it was certainly a silver lining for me. Thank you for all your hard work & putting smiles back on faces, even in hard times.

Colleen I lost a LOT of weight during a long period of depression and anxiety. I lost even more weight in the hospital when I sought help. My friends who didn’t know what I was going through would comment “skinny legend” silly things like that encouraging my weight loss, a family member even accused me of drug use bc I was that small. Every “compliment” stung. Like, if only they knew how much of a chore eating is to me. Or when loved ones/friends started asking me for weightloss tips, I couldn’t be honest with them and tell them “I can’t physically eat.” They wouldn’t get it. To hear someone like you, someone whose videos I watch DAILY, say something so relatable to me personally is so comforting. You have no idea. You are loved by so many! ♥️

TTQ: Do you ever think about the kids watching these vlogs as adults? I would bawl if I got to watch my mom just being human while raising me and her journey and I think this is such a special gift you are giving your kids 🤍

I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant and I’ve neeeever felt back pain like this. Colleen it was so helpful to go back to your pregnancy videos and cry with you about the pain, knowing I’m not alone. I’m in a vicious cycle of not eating because I’m stressed but if I don’t eat I’ll get nauseous. Thanks for sharing that not everyone has the most magical pregnancy experience. I am not a mom and won't pretend that I understand what it is to be one and the changes that come to your mid and body when you become one. Having said that, I feel SOOO related to you Colleen with what you said about how people will praise someone skinny without knowing if they are healthy or how they came to that weight. A few years ago I gained some weight because of college, you know, not sleeping, eating poorly or not eating a lot and having other moments where I would just feed myself nasty junk food 'cause it was easier as a student. Basically, my habits were a mess, I barely slept too and was depressed and all that (for mee) made me insecure and uncomfortable with a body that I didn't necessarily recognize as mine. Then 2 years later, a little bit after the pandemic hit I dropped all that weight because my anxiety and depression went through the roof! I thought I was going to be happy with the lost wight, I recognized this body. When people started pointing out how healthy I looked, all that was clear to me was how miserable I was and how my body was a reflection of it, how that body that people "admired" was due to anxiety, depression and bad habits all over again, just manifested differently this time. I wasn't healthy at all. In both cases I had people comment on my body and it never felt right, not when they were trying to compliment me and not when they were clearly criticizing me. Once a girl that knew the skinny me told me, after not seeing each other for years, how "now" (when she saw me again) I looked like a woman (because I was curvier) and I just remember smiling but wanting to let her know so bad how that comment was SO inappropriate and hurtful. I believe we should learn to focus on being healthy first and liking how we look is important too but health should be the priority. AND SECOND, we should stop commenting on other people's bodies unless they ask for our opinion in a specific concern and still then, we should probably just shut our mouths. It's hard enough as it is with self-criticism and trying to take care of ourselves.

If you're taking medications to help with your adhd, it may be helpful to talk with your doctor(s) to see if that particular medication is suppressing your appetite. My brother and one of my sisters both took various types of adhd medications throughout their lives and each one can have a different effect on your body. The process of finding a medication that works can be long and difficult, but it may be something worth looking into :).

I remember going through a health crisis 6 years ago where I was throwing up all the time. I found out later I had celiac disease but at the time I had no idea what it was. I lost 40lbs in 3 months from ILLNESS. It was so confusing for me to get so many positive compliments about the weight loss and caused me to struggle for a couple of years afterwards with disordered eating since I started to gain weight back as I got healthier. We’re here for you! You’re a wonderful mama and have amazing attributes! You’re such a great example for so many people by just being authentic YOU! ❤

COLLEEN! I know you won't see this, but I gotta say it! First of all, love you & your beautiful family! Second, as a larger woman, it really makes me feel better to know that there is another woman on the opposite side of the spectrum who struggles & obsesses just as much as I do & it made me cry lol. Also, as a pharmacy student, my brain immediately thought: oh, she's probably having appetite issues because of her ADHD medication. A scary amount of women use that same medication to lose weight (obv not everyone) because 1 of the side effects is appetite suppression & metabolism heightening. Maybe something to think about, of course I'm not the expert- that's just where my brain immediately went. I also love your comment on the last weight video you did: "it's NEVER ok to comment on someone's body. big, small, positive, or negative because you NEVER know what someone is going through" & you were so right!!! #stopthebounceback

i am 99% sure i have adhd, and you have really opened my eyes to why i struggle with the things i struggle with. i also have struggled with a skin picking disorder since i was a tween, i remember my mum having to put a blanket over my mirror so i wouldn’t spend hours picking my skin. i also struggle with feeling like eating, and therefore gaining weight and i never knew that was linked with my mental health until you talked about it. thank you SO MUCH for talking about it and bringing awareness to these issues. you have helped me endlessly

That’s why it’s SO important not to comment on people’s weight at any time. We never know how the person lost/gained that weight, if it was healthy, or if they are happy with it. For example, if we see someone who lost weight, we shouldn’t assume that they are happy about it or that they did it in a healthy way. Assumptions and comments like that can contribute to disordered eating.

Colleen is the one of the most humane and the realest person I know here on this community. Her name’s big and so is her heart. I’ve been watching her for almost 8 years now and still wasn’t tired of watching her. It’s like I’m with her everyday which keeps me company especially at hard times. May God bless her and her adorable, sweet family, always.

Colleen, I feel like something important needs to be said when it comes to body image. There is a huge difference between body positivity and body neutrality. Body neutrality is what I've always heard being marketed towards people who struggle with loving their body. It focuses on viewing your body as just a body and nothing more. Not seeing yourself in the mirror and thinking about what you like or don't like but rather just flat out saying this is me and this is how I look!! Of course when it comes to dieting and eating in any type of way, I love the love and respect that you have shown to yourself and your audience by saying that you have goals for how you want yourself to look. But don't let that make you feel bad about the body you have now. Beating yourself up with good intent and goals in mind can still make you feel bad. Trying to think of it in a more neutral way may help with that. At least, that has always been an idea that has helped me throughout my body image journey❤️

I completely relate to everything you are saying at the end. I struggled for a year with people thinking they are complimenting me on my weight or size but in reality I feel extremely unhealthy and weak. I hope as a society we can stop complimenting people based on weight and instead talk more about health. Hearing you talk about your struggles in the past helped me to feel like I wasn't alone and that other people deal with this to.

Hey Colleen. I genuinely felt the bounce back thing. I haven’t been pregnant but I have endometriosis and when I had my first surgery I lost so much weight in a month. It was all depression and fear of food because it would cause pain. And when everyone saw me they told me how great I looked and that I bounced back so quick. Meanwhile I was still in pain. I was in a deep depression and anxiety and all my emotions were numb. They try to give a complement but it just instills something more scary and just painful that you look better when your skinny. It sucks and I get it. Thank you though for bringing it up. I really appreciated hearing someone else deal with the “bounce back”

I feel like a good price for people who got VIP tickets would be a zoom call, like the meet and greets you do on your shows. They could be a 20-30min group session with everyone, and that wouldn’t cost money, if that’s a worry. But the time it would take may be a concern. Just an idea :) you probably won’t see this but I saw your video yesterday talking about weight gain and struggling with it, and things like ensure shakes help, but also ensure has juices (ensure clear is called) with protein, vitamins and calories, that could be easier to keep down and drink while getting nutritional benefits. I love the fundraiser and am so glad Colleen does it. But I really wish it could be made more fair to get a prize. I know I'm supposed to say I don't just donate every year for the prize, but I'm human! I want a prize! And I feel like if you don't have tons of followers AND an interesting page that catches her eye, you don't get a prize. The way that she carefully chooses every year and never chooses me is a KILLER! I think I would feel better if it was more random! Honestly I booked a JC Penney portrait studio photo for all the grandkids (6 at the time) in my fam to have a portrait for the grandparents to have. It came out so freaking cute! Turns out our studio photographer was the one who did my nieces family portraits the year before as a freelance photographer. These days people who work there are trained and not just high school kids like back when I was starting out in photography.

I was back down to under my pre baby weight 4 weeks post partum with my twins due to anxiety and depression. I struggled for years to keep weight on. I just couldn't eat because I needed to watch them. Therapy and a good med was the answer for me, but I know I'm in the minority. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability. Thank you for being so transparent.

EveryBODY is truly different the stigma around women’s bodies are so frustrating and it hurts everyday I’ve struggled with my body my whole life and that’s so hard to get over. You’re so strong for sharing your struggles they make it easier for others.

The kindness and persistence you possess is truly admirable, alongside your courage to voice your opinions and advocate for what is right. Your vulnerability in times of hardship has allowed me and I am sure many others to not feel alone or feel as though our struggles are invalid. Hi Colleen! in minute 13:00 you say something that reminded me of this: you should never talk about someone else, because what may seem as a goal to you, may be an insecurity to someone else. And it's so true! This time you're not the problem (even while singing "It's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me") you have to work on yourself before caring about what evereryone thinks. Have you thought about seeing a nutritionist? I recently started going and it’s been really helpful. I think finding the right one that doesn’t have a huge emphasis on weight more so on how you feel inside and out could be so helpful. I think of it as a mother form of therapy

When Colleen said the comments about how skinny she was after having the twins stung so much i really relate to that. I had lost almost 100 pounds, but not from dieting but from colitis, where i was the sickest I've ever been. But when i lost the weight i got the most compliments I've ever gotten about how beautiful i looked. Never got compliments like that before. But it hurt hearing that because I was deathly sick for the longest time but nobody even batted an eye about that, and they knew i was so sick bc i even had to go on disability bc of it. All that seemed to matter was that i lost a lot of weight and i was so pretty. Ppl may think they mean well or don't realize what they're saying is hurtful, but our society has made our image more important than our physical and mental well-being. Colleen, i hear you and understand that struggle and pain. Colleen thank you for being open with us and trusting us enough to share these often very private battles. It does help hearing that you aren't going through things like that alone. 🤟

I have anxiety that manifests itself into physical symptoms like stomach pain, as well as headaches and trouble breathing. Since June of this year I’ve lost close to 40 pounds and I’ve always been on the heavier side so it’s been very confusing emotionally. I’m losing the weight in an unhealthy way, but everyone around me is saying I must be doing the right thing for my body since it looks healthier than it ever has (again - always been a little bigger/overweight). With everything ingrained in our society, it’s hard to do your own thing. You are definitely not alone! I’m also a fellow woman with ADHD, and it’s very similar to yours as well. I look up to you a lot, Colleen, keep being the great person you are! ❤️
