Within me now is a debate of whether to respond knowing it will not change your stance, but alas, I shall respond. It is a great and wonderful comfort to me to know that I am a child of God and have His Spirit within me, even though I do not believe what is commonly known as Calvinism. The Lord convicted me of my sinfulness on July 15, 2005 and I responded with repentance and faith. I could have sat there in my pride as I had for years before but on that day, I trusted in Him with the faith that He gives to all men (Romans 12:3) and the Lord saved me. To say a person is unsaved because they do not believe in Calvinism is a dangerous game to play! If you try to say it to me, I will smile, reply with love, and know with peace in my heart that I am saved regardless of your misappropriations of Scriptures.
Wow... that was a very arrogant comment. It doesn't matter if you have more than fivty years studying the bible... if you are wrong... you can even be more wrong for another fivty years.... hearing that was really sad.

They'll stand before the LORD and give an account for their attacks on the elect; whom the LORD set forth to be ministers of the Truth of the Word of God. With that said, both Alana and Leighton are elected to do just what they're doing, in publicly rejecting the power of God's effectual and irresistible grace and replacing it with the power of man's irresistible and effectual free will.
@Don Haddock. If age mattered in understanding predestination and election in the Holy Writ, the Lord wouldn't have chosen 12 young men between the ages of 12-20 years of age to be His Apostles.

@@donhaddix3770 The Spirit gives wisdom of God at the moment one is born again. The Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. Nobody climbs the ladder of "intellectualism" to heaven through carnal logic. Leighton and Alana are perfect illustrations of self willed delusions of such lunacy. Sanctification is by the Spirit, not limited by age or intellectual abilities, which is WHY the Lord CHOSE 12 young men under 20 years old for giving eternal truth to.
Nice job. Many 'professing' Christian's are just that: professing. Observe the emotional, self-focused, sentimental picture of Our Lord and Savior Jesus, a picture that is not Biblical that is sadly common with professing yet not possessing. God offers up no cheap Grace. We are to enter through the narrow gate, obey His Commands ( if we claim to love Him), die to ourselves, pick up our cross, follow Him. And why wouldn't we, if, we possess the Salvation Lord Jesus brings through Sovereign Gods Grace for a deviant, corrupt creature, with the gift of the Holy Spirit alive in our new Heart.
I agree MacArthur could have responded differently. My issue with Alana is that she has become so personally zealous over Calvinism, and she is now stirring up division as opposed to demonstrating the love of Christ. And sharing this topic with Flowers and now some other male who seem to devote their platforms to attacking Christians who disagree with them on biblical matters is not right. Why her husband gives his blessing for her public pursuit of joining forces with these men on these matters is troublesome. As MacArthur should have said, this is a personal matter that should probably have remained between husband and wife.
Dude, you just agree with MacArthur, that doesn't make you right. Alana spoke her heart. You're in a cult in the eyes of thousands. Any man who thinks receiving the mark of the beast will not get the recipient condemned opposes the word of God, and should be rebuked and ignored. MacArthur holds that position.

I listen to Macarthur on youtube and someone at Church said we shouldn't sell his books because he is a calvinist. I believe in Jesus Christ not some dude from the 16th century. I had heard of calvinism but never gave it much thought. I did some research and I have to admit hearing Mcarthur, RC Sproul and now you has really made me realize calvinism is just another religion. Its sad you would say that about your brother and sisters in the Lord. Really sad! I cannot put into words how wrong you are for the way you think. I don't care if you believe in Calvin more than you believe in Jesus Christ that's on you. Going public with that much pride in a man in front of Christians is sad. Are you even Born Again? Or are you born into calvinism?
I feel John MacArthur is slanderous. He misrepresented eastern orthodox by cherry picking. He must have read the whole paragraph, and he LIED. Calvinism is unbiblical, you don't get special gnostic understanding to interpret scripture. There are more non-calvinist than Calvinists that are professing Christians. I must ask you brother, are you ignorant of that fact, or jist lying? If Im wrong Id love to see references to correct me. I've seen more fruit for what I can see out of regular Christians than Calvinsts. Also, if you're truly sola scriptura, Calvinism doesn't stand up to actually Bible study. It Isegetes to make all of its points. Before anyone throws a verse at me, I've spent hundreds of hours studying Calvinism, it is minority Christian cult, I assume you can be saved and be a Calvinist, just like the other cults. This video was divisive, and Repetence may be in order, take it up with God, and his word.
There are two instances God uses "eyes to see." 1 is when Israel rejected Him so he spoke only in parables to them. And 2 is in Revelation 2-3 church passages. The "eyes to see" there having to do with being wise unto rewards. Something Calvinism, unfortunately, seems to leave out. In neither case do either of these two instances validate Calvinism. On the latter, Calvinism is not concerned with reward. On the former, Calvinism is not Israel being visited in the 1st century by their messiah. To use "eyes to see" as a way to put your foot down as though you are now certified and affirmed in your conviction attests to how far afield from context you are willing to go to win your view while ignoring context. For the mature mind might consider to discuss potential nuances found within the word. Something our neighborhood cults won't allow us to do or themselves to consider. Not good company brother. Oh dear dear me. This is so sad. Calvinists are not all of the same opinion. 5 point, 4 point, 3 point. I heard one say tulip isn't calvinism. You have full on determinists who accept sin is part of it and you have some who say no to that. I have heard so many differing views on what calvinism is, and by calvinists. So they are NOT all of the same opinion. FACT! And just to be clear: it aint Biblical. FACT!

Macarthur has quoted Lenski dozens of times (in the affirmative). When it's a woman who use to go to his church, she is a sophomore. When its a theoligian, John gives them a pass. And even use their research respectfully to affirm doctrine. This, at least in theory, is double minded and not the fruit of the spirit...especially after 50 years and demonstrating this example for the flock.
How about being a “Man of the Lord with over 50 years of studying the scriptures and putting doctrine in them, showing them to be true” but not having the testicular fortitude to mention the young lady by name. (By the way, read/listen to that quote again and again until you see the glaring problem with it. It’s very obvious once you see it) He doesn’t mention her by name. He doesn’t engage with what she said at all. He doesn’t deconstruct her world view and show any errors in the slightest. (By the way, neither did you sir. You just stated your opinions, which you’re free to do. But you nor Macarthur actually addressed and explained away her world view in any academic fashion) Macarthur slanders her and then pulls the appeal to authority fallacy to attempt some sort of slimy checkmate. Brother, you excuse John MacArthur by pointing out that he is an old man, and as an old man, he apparently has less patience with error. Whoa! Having walked with the Lord for 5 or 6 decades, studying the Word all that time, one ought to have a greater grasp and understanding of the Lord’s instructions for how to walk (and therefore respond) in the Spirit, and not in the Flesh. Sorry. Your argument defending Dr. MacArthur doesn’t hold up.
My brother, you are the one who is wrong. I have walked with Jesus and been a student of His Word for 54 years. I know my few words here will not convince you, but the arrogance & pride that both John MacArthur as well as you, yourself, exhibit (which is unmistakably evident in most defenders of Calvinism, as I have observed for many, many years) is not of the Holy Spirit. I challenge you to stop doing what John MacArthur said in this very video. In making his argument, he presents that he has for 50+ years been reading “doctrine into scripture”. I’m sure he didn’t intend it to come out that way, yet that is exactly what he has been doing-coming to scripture with an already preconceived position that the doctrines of John Calvin are true. No. No matter how many people have believed and wrote about and taught Calvin’s doctrines over even centuries, it doesn’t make them true. John Calvin was just a man. Unfortunately, a good segment of evangelicals have-through defending his interpretations of scripture-made him something of a pope for us Protestants.
