As an owner of a 2023 Nissan Sentra SR midnight edition it’s quick only if you don’t floor it and just let the CVT do its own thing lol if you put it into sport mode it will wake up just a little but it’s not winning any races 😂
@@Travis-ll6zu coming from a built diesel truck and g70 twin turbo nothing will make this car feel fast. I have come to love it as a fuel efficient daily driver and appreciate it for what it is.
@hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I don't think your realizing the amount of features the car has there's alot of safety and gas mileage oriented things in it and it seams like your not very in tune with new car prices nowadays 20 is grand is not bad at all for any brand new car and like the dude said it is an economy car and it's really not that slow its plenty enough to get on the highway and get you to where you need to go it'd far from the fastest but I'll say it one more time it is an economy car also I don't understand why you say the you young people comment just seemingly out of nowhere and all the dude is trying to do is defend the car I think complaining about young people has no relevance whatsoever and just comes across as you have really bad insecurities about be an older age you may wanna get that checked out brother not all young people are the same not all older people are the same not all white people are the same and not all black people are the same you really shouldn't have to tell anybody that but it seams like those aren't things that go through your mind often if ever.
@hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm People buying a sentra don't care. Its an economy car and doesn't need more power. The corolla is just as slow and they still sell almost 200k of them a year
@hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmyou are not paying for the motor you are paying for the safety features and slice-of-life technology (ie: the decently sized screen, car play, )
@hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Do you really think people paying 25k for a car want something fast? For most people a nice interior , apple carplay and heated seats close the deal my guy.
Just bought a 2023 Nissan Sentra SR premium package. Only got it since I work at a Nissan dealership and I only paid MSRP for it. Also because my G37 was giving out on me already. Didn't want to buy it but its growing on me. Plus it was something I could afford. As a car guy it's not a lot. My 2012 G37 is obviuosly faster than the Sentra. One thing that is really nice about the Sentra SR though is the handling. The new sentra has a better steering rack than its class competitors. Took it on turns and turns and it honestly put a smile on my face. Knowing I can hit those corners without tailfishing is a nice change. Now sure it's because it's fwd compared to rwd but it shines in handling overall. Yes the cvt is not the most desirable transmission but honestly the new Xtronic cvts are way better than before. I honestly believe tuning the sentra would be a nice little sleeper. Did research on the power the cvt could take and its somewhere between 250-300 hp. I know I won't get it to even 250 but 200hp sounds more realistic. A nice tune, better suspension, better wheels, an intake and a nice exhaust (not too obnoxious) will make this a little rocket given its curb weight at 3,080 pounds. It would be a big middle finger to the car community and a total neck breaker as well.
I picked one up today for $500 under msrp and got an extra $500 for college graduates discount. Nice little car impressed by all the features for the money.
@@projectinitial_9250so are these new Xtronic cvts reliable? I have avoided Nissan because their cvts fail too often, but how reliable is the new 2023 Versa?
The 2024 sentra has a new cvt that might be better for holding power. Each cvt is different I think the cvt in the sentra is only good to handle 150hp and the 1 in the altima 2.5 is good for like 180 tq but the new vc turbo in the rogue got a new transmission to handle 225 tq which might end up in the sentra but idk I doubt it. Maybe it's a different 1!
Honestly imo, the new generation of the Xtronic cvt is much more reliable than previous generations. Working at a Nissan dealership I haven't seen any newer models or even ones from 2020 come in for a transmission change. Only minor things like radio not working properly at times, certain infotainments issues, oil change and transmissions fluid change. Now I'm no expert but I do think that they are better.
@ahawk3571 thats uhh that's the opisite of whY you want to do cats don't like hills you wanna be in a higher gear your essentially saying put the car into eco mode which nissan blatantly says do not use eco mode on hills you would want to use low when going up a hill or just leave it in the standard mode
I have a nissan sentra 22 and im considering the 24 in the highest model i loved the 22 i had it for about 3 years with one or 2 issues that got fixed under the warranty and i got to drive a rental with a higher priced model for 2 weeks very happy with nissan. Unfortunately i got into a wreck and it was totalled. Which is why im thinking the 24 and with significant improvement to my credit i can get a higher model for half the payment Or an altima for the same monthly payment or a rouge for a few hundred more
They're fine. I merge onto the interstate every day coming off the ramp at 40mph and immediately merging with 75mph traffic uphill. Y'all don't know what slow is...my work truck is limited to 68mph and it takes well over 30 seconds to hit 60 when it's not loaded...sometimes it won't hit 60 when it is loaded.
Bro i took one as a rental car and as inwas pulling in to the freeway I had to punch it and almost got rear ended by a semi and it still took afew seconds for me to get to normal speeds 💀
Instead of slamming on the acceleration try to easy up some it will shift much smoother and save ur transmission I've gotten 102k miles on mine no problems with car so far. Hoping to get about 200k before I hit any problems. But fingers crossed slow and steady baby that cvt 2019 sentra
The cvt in that car is actually a lot different, just traded my 2017 Altima SR for the 23 Sentra SR, it’s actually not a bad ride. But I do get what your saying. Some of the cvt transmissions are sketchy lol
mine def accelerates faster then that and i got 2020 nissan sentra SR. I'm in sport mode most of the time and I straight piped it so deleting some stuff off the exhaust probably upped a bit of hp, and put a supercharger in it so makes sense
Like I mean the sentra has decent speed for an economy car, it drives nice. But it’s not nothing special. 0-60 is still like 8s. The mpgs are very good thougu
@@zeldamenefee5008 what do you mean changing the transmission fluid every 30k miles? I have a 2010 CVT with 168k miles and still going strong. That's what I mean.
@@ags4353 yea I know but it weights around 6500 and it’s still slow just stating it’s faster then this, I don’t know if it would keep up with our 370 or not though lol, maybe our family maxima 🤔 we’re a Nissan family lol
I own a 2023 SR and I could say it’s a lot faster than some dam daily cars I’ve driven before y’all can stfu bout the cvt and how it’s only 150 horse like it’s the best daily I owned and mf can haul on the highway sorry u can’t afford a nice ass car 😂
If this is “quick” then what is my old 6MT 2014 Cruze 1.4 turbo? Because this makes that car and my ‘09 Malibu LS (2.4) from years back look like a race car 🤣
