Great song. Professor of Rock just interviewed the singer/songwriter. It was the result of a one night stand with an ex-girlfriend. You were able to catch a lot of the emotions. They re-released it with a sting section and they did an amazing multi version live on Rockpalast - instrumental intro to acoustic flowing in to regular.

Takes me back to my high school days in the 80s

These guys were a criminally underrated band. Quite successful outside their home country but apart from this song they never really cracked it in the UK. I think they were trying to appeal to the audience of the time while still maintaining a rock edge to their music. Probably the reason I like them. I just today replaced my old cassette tape of Broadcast which from memory didn't have a bad song on it, helped somewhat by the input of producer Terry Brown of Rush fame. I believe they are still playing although the drummer is now a resident drummer in a West end show and also plays in the prog band Lifesigns. Sadly, the original guitarist died of cancer nearly 20 years ago.☹️
