“Hunger Strike” is a song about taking advantage of people who cannot afford to be taken advantage of.“ I can’t feed on the powerless when my cups already overfilled “. Wonderful song by 2 of the best singers ever, Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder. Lord, I miss “grunge” music. Lyrics that meant something.
"But it's on the table, the fire's cookin' And they're farmin' babies, while slaves are workin' The blood is on the table and the mouths are chokin' But I'm goin' hungry, yeah"
It's always refreshing to see hip hop / rnb / soul / funk Fans diving into the Rock / Metal World. You see... this is a very very very misunderstood genre of music and to be honest... I am glad you decided to give it a chance and I'm also glad that you like it. Well... welcome to the Rock and Metal Family :)
You guys are on a roll. Experienced the G.O.A.T. of guitar with SRV recently and now you are experiencing the G.O.A.T. voice of rock with the late, great Chris Cornell. Tons of great material out there for Chris both solo or with the groups Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog. Oh, by the way, the other voice is from a little known singer known as Eddie Vedder... LOL Definitely dig into his band', Pear Jam's catalog. I'd start with the MTV Unplugged version of Black
Eddie Vedder is from the band Pearl Jam. They are still around and released an album last year. Chris Cornell was the lead singer from Soundgarden and Audioslave. Some of the bands you have reacted on your channel are all connected to one another. Audioslave are members from the band Rage Against The Machine and former lead singer of Soundgarden,Chris Cornell. Chris Cornell and Chester Bennigton( Linkin Park) were very good friends and died months apart. They two had done live performances together. React to Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Audioslave, and solo music from Chris Cornell. Great reaction!
Every one requests this song but Temple of the Dog was formed in tribute to their friend Andrew Wood. They also did a song in tribute called Say Hello 2 Heaven. Ya outta give that one a try.
Don't let the name scare you off. Try Suicidal Tendencies "How will I laugh tomorrow" it's thrash metal (use lyrics) but It's deep. Y'all enjoy a good guitar solo and Rocky George is very underated. "Trip at the brain" and "Pledge your allegiance" good ones too.
If you're just getting into rock/metal/punk, here's some good songs to start with. They're popular and will get a lot of clicks. Alice In Chains "Would?" (music video) Alien Ant Farm "Smooth Criminal" (music video) Black Sabbath "Iron Man" (music video) Black Sabbath "War Pigs" (lyric video) Blink 182 "Dammit" (lyric video) Crowbar "Planets Collide" Foo Fighters "Everlong" (music video) Green Day "When I Come Around" (music video) Guns N Roses "Welcome To The Jungle" (music video) Iron Maiden "Hallowed Be Thy Name" (live) Jimi Hendrix "Hey Joe" (old black & white live video) KoRn "Blind" (Woodstock 99) Led Zeppelin "Stairway To Heaven" (lyric video) Limp Bizkit "Break Stuff" (music video) Linkin Park "One Step Closer" Metallica "Master Of Puppets" (lyric video) Metallica "One" (music video) Megadeth "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" (music video) Megadeth "Tornado Of Souls" (lyric video) Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (music video) Pantera "Cemetery Gates" (music video) Pearl Jam "Jeremy" (UNCENSORED music video) Red Hot Chili Peppers "Under The Bridge" (Woodstock 99) Stone Temple Pilots "Creep" Suicidal Tendencies "Institutionalized" (music video) System Of A Down "Aerials" (lyric video) Van Halen "Ain't Talking About Love" (lyric video) There's plenty more. Can't wait for your reactions.
Chris Cornell on the lead and Eddie Vedder singing back up/ Harmony and from what I understand this is Eddie Vedders first gig. This is Remembrance of Andrew Wood the lead singer of Mother Love Bone the precursor to Pearl Jam as we know it today.
This was a tribute to Andrew Wood the singer of Mother Love Bone who died of a heroin overdose, the rest of Mother Love Bone formed Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell was Andrew Wood's roomate
Yall should check out Chris Cornell "Say hello to heaven" and "Like a Stone". He also did some amazing covers to Prince's "Nothing compares to you" And Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean". Also please do Eddie Vedder ,Pearl Jam "Black" MTV Unplugged
@@betweenthewars4054 lol....I m from Alabama and I say ya'll....if your that easily annoyed maybe you shouldn't read the comments. Anyway bless you and I hope your day gets better!
YES!!! Chris Cornell in.... "Like a Stone"(Audioslave)", "Blackhole Sun"(Soundgarden), "I Am The Highway"(Audioslave) to get you acquainted with him and his bands. It's powerful and beautiful stuff, lyrically and instrumentally. He passed from suicide in 2017 after battling depression and substance abuse/addiction for many years. He was a beautiful yet tortured soul and I know his music has helped countless people through the years. That's the power of music...
There is so much to explore with these two bands.... Temple of the Dog was a colab... check out Say Hello to Heaven... Then check out the individual bands Pearl Jam and Sound Garden. Eddie Veder is the lead singer for Pearl Jam... Chris Cornell is the lead for Sound Garden. Both are huge voices from the grunge era. CHRIS Has passed away... suiside... similar to Chester from Linkin Park who I know you've checked out. The two were friends... passed not far apart.. huge loss to everyone. CHRIS is in my top 5 rock voices of all time. So many great songs to check out. Besides Sound Garden and Temple of the Dog he was also the lead singer for Audioslave which was Chris along with the Tom Morelo and the the other guys from Rage against the Machine after Zack left the band. They put out some great music. Chris also had a huge solo career where he did some amazing covers that are popular for reaction channels. Check out Chris Cornell doing Billy Jean obviously a MJ song... and Nothing Compares to you by Prince which was made hugely popular by Sinead O'Conner... you should check out both versions Chris and Sinead... keep up the reactions... if your making a list just add these to them... I wish you both the best... keep having fun and exploring these great tunes... can't wait to see you react to some the great bands and songs coming your way...
the super group "Temple of the Dog" 2 next level singers Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam and Chris Cornell from Soundgarden, by far the best in that generation and style (Grunge)
This group is actually 3 groups in one. Temple of The Dog made one album (only) as a tribute to to their friend Andrew Wood (lead singer of Mother Love Bone) who had passed due to an overdose in may of '91. This group consisted of the members of Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone and the future members of the now infamous group PEARL JAM. The TWO lead singers in this song are the late Chris Cornell(high voice) of Soundgarden (later Audioslave) and The great Eddie Vedder(low voice) of Pearl Jam. Eddie is the LAST lead singer alive (and doing well) left out of the "greats" of "Grunge" music and we are very grateful we still have him and the guys of Pearl Jam!! All the others have passed due to drug overdoses and/or suicide. Please react to Pearl Jam "Black" MTV Unplugged..... RIP Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Chester, Layne Staley and all the others who left too soon.... Peace
Chris Cornell was a special guy. RIP. And Eddie Vedder is a good backup...lol It was actually Eddie's first video before Pearl Jam hit. And Chris Cornell is Soundgarden and Audioslave. Special stuff. Take a look at Chris Cornell covering Nothing Compares To You. Cheers!
Yo S an M you should check out Pearl Jam - Black MTV unplugged. The lead singer is Eddie Vedder who was one of the singers in the band Temple of the Dog
Two of the most powerful voices to ever walk the earth, Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell...... EPIC!!!! That's all that needs to be said. RIP Chris Cornell.
It's 3 groups in one, members of Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden and the future members of Pearl Jam for one album in tribute to Andrew Wood, lead singer of MLB. Just sharing.....
So this song is a dis to Ticketmaster, they don't mind stealing bread, basically they will take from the record company, but I can't feed on the powerless when my cups already overfilled, the concert prices were geto expensive for the average person, so they were saying we don't want to take more from the people, so they will take less money, hence I'm going hungry.
You nailed it..... although they also feel that way about all things in life. Eddie is a pretty vocal activist on many issues. Great humans in general!! RIP Chris....
So this group is basically Pearl jam and Soundgarden collaborating for an album both who have some of the most amazing influential voices in metal history
That was Christopher John Cornell of Soundgarden who was hitting the high notes. Singing the lower part of it was Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam. They came together to make this album, which was a tribute to a friend of theirs, Andrew Wood, who overdosed on heroin. Chris has an incredible voice, as does Eddie. They came from my part of the country, in the PNW. Rest in peace, Chris. You are missed!
Love Chris Cornell. RIP. For more Chris, listen to Soundgarden - 'Outshined' and Audioslave - 'Like a Stone'. For more Eddie Vedder - Pearl Jam - 'Black' (studio version) and Pearl Jam - 'Jeremy'.

There were two lead singers...as it's been stated below: the late Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), and Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam). ***Chris Cornell's cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares to You" - an absolute must. Also: from Soundgarden... > Birth Ritual > Jesus Christ Pose > Slaves & Bulldozers From Pearl Jam: > Black > Evenflow ***anything from their first album "Ten". Keep up the good work guys! :)
Agree with the majority. MTV Unplugged Black by Pearl Jam. The Unplugged series was amazing. Might also check out Alice in Chains. And also Nirvana. All so damn good
watching FRIENDS right now lol time to do Chris Cornell from Soundgarden & Audioslave he's the first guy (RiP) & 2nd guy is Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam.
Oh yea, don't forget Mad Season. That was a great group made up of AIC, Screaming Trees and Pearl Jam. They only put out 1 album but they were magical and Layne looked happier than I had seen him be in years. Love y'all
Wow shawn and Mel! Found u a band the s&m crew will love! Godsmack! They been around 25 yrs or more! 10 cds lots of hits! Seen them in 2015 with Slipknot godsmack is amazing! They did a cover song to honor metallica nothing else matters! No other band can pull this song off! But godsmack did it! Check it outl
1st singer is Chris Cornell - check out Audioslave & Soundgarden for more of him! (may he RIP - left us way too soon) 2nd singer is Eddie Vedder - check out Pearl Jam for more of him! This is one of my most favorite songs. Much love.
Chris Cornell had such a voice. Room a Thousand Years Wide with him in Soundgarden, Burden in my Hand, Soo many songs. If you can find him with the Avett brothers doing a cover of Footsteps live on Fallon, it's pretty amazing.
This is a supergroup. The Seattle grunge bands were a close-knit group. After Andrew Wood, the lead singer of Mother Love Bone died, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden (the higher voice) came up with the idea of Temple of the Dog as a tribute. Eddie Vedder (the lower vocal part) was being brought in as a replacement for Andrew Wood. He and former members of MLB would later go on to form Pearl Jam.
Temple of the Dog is a mix of both bands, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden...because Chris Cornell lead singer n guitarist from Soundgarden and Eddie Vedder lead singer for Pearl Jam were best friends, like brothers!!🌹💗💋
So the back story is that before the band Pearl Jam existed, most of the guys of PJ were in a band called Mother Love Bone. Andy Wood, The lead singer of MLB died of a drug overdose. The band hired Eddie Vedder to take his place and Pearl Jam was born. Andy Wood's roommate was Chris Cornell the lead singer of Soundgarden and later AudioSlave. They joined forces to do one album as a super band called Temple of the Dog. The album was made in honor of the memory of Andy Wood and this track has Eddie doing the low harmonies and Chris Cornell hitting the high notes. If you liked this you'll also like Pearl Jam and Soundgarden and there are aot of good tracks to pick from. Thanks for the reaction.
Time for some Staind. Y'all haven't tapped the rich vein that is Aaron Lewis' voice.. I suggest starting with "Something to remind you" live... I know y'all appreciate good sangin' and he can sang!
Temple of the dogs was a tribute to pear jam's original singer Andrew wood, he overdosed before there first album came out, they were called MOTHER LOVE BONE you can find there songs on utube, Eddie Vedder joined them after that and they changed their name to pear jam
Chris Cornell lead singer was amazing in all forms. Eddie Vedder background as great performer as well. If u liked this song. Check out say hello to heaven by temple of the dog you won't be disappointed. Actually the whole album is a banger. Chris was the lead singer of Soundgarden n audioslave. Many many many great song by chris n he also did some great covers n solo work. Eddie is the lead singer of pearl jam...great songs by him as well. Black is a very good heartfelt song by Eddie check it out to
Legends! When grunge died, my interest in music nearly went with it. Then last year I found Band-Maid, a Japanese rock band. I'd love to see what you think. Please react to their song "Warning!".
I’ve been on this planet for 50 years & have loved music for as long as I can remember & aside from a guy named Maynard James Keenan I really think Chris Cornell is the best singer America has ever produced ,just an opinion mind you ✌️
I'm requesting a reaction vid of Falling in Reverse-Im not a vampire(revamped). I had wanted a lot of In this moment but this one has me addicted and the vocals and orchestral composition are just OFF THE HOOK.
If your dabbling in the grunge era you definitely need to watch Alice In Chains “would” among many of their other awesome songs and the other singer is Chris Cornell RIP who sang for Soundgarden. “Pretty Noose” was a good song by them. But Temple of the Dog had some really good hits too...”Say hello to Heaven” is a another good one
