I am fortunate to have seen them in 1982 at the Seattle center. Got down to the 25th row when Freddie called everyone down when thousands left after Billy Squire performed. Phools… they missed a legend!

My fave song from this movie was "One Year of Love." I hear it plays on a radio in a scene...there is no live video, but the Queen lyric video is a gem - Freddie's vocals will knock your socks off. Just tears at your heartstrings.

Oh and by the way. In the Highlander movie the villain Kurgan is played by Clancy Brown. He is the voice of Mr. Krabs on Sponge Bob Squarepants.

I liked this Highlander movie (with Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery) but to be honest, the 9 songs that Queen featured in the movie were better than the movie itself. In the movie, Queen performed (and wrote most of the tunes): A Kind Of Magic One Year Of Love Who Wants To Live Forever Hammer To Fall Don’t Lose Your Head Princes of the Universe Gimme the Prize (Kurgan’s Theme) A Dozen Red Roses for my Darling New York, New York

Yeah, this was the soundtrack to Highlander. The movie and the TV show. They are on youtube. They are talking a remake. I hope they keep the soundtrack. Nothing like a movie and show about immortals running around cutting each other's head's off with swords because in the end, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.

Not exactly. They were recording for quite a while after having finished the whole Innuendo album. If you want one of the very last audio recordings, it's "Mother Love", recorded months (May '91 vs. sometime in 1990 for the Innuendo album songs) after "The Show Must Go On"... (lyrics video only for reactions, please, there's some animation video that detracts from the song, because it tells a wholly different story, and although it's very good, like I said: It highly detracts from the actual song).

Great reaction. When I first heard this song, I was 17. This is back in 1986. The song floored me. I remember where I was, I was in a parking lot listening to this song off the Magic album which I had just purchased on cassette. My parents were finishing dinner in a restaurant and my little brother and I played this in my dad's car. And I thought, "what in the actual hell just hit me, this is fuxking incredible!"

Amazing Band! Thought I'd mention that their lead guitar player, Brian May, has a DOCTORATE in Astro Physics. Queen's drummer, Roger Taylor, was going to school to be a dentist. Queen's Bass player, John Deacon was the last member to join Queen and was vouched for by Farrokh Bulsarahen (aka Freddie Mercury). Had he lived he'd be 75! Imagine what we've missed?!?! Same as Jim Croce who also died way to early... I suggest you listen to "I've Got A Name" it's an amazing tune and should be every graduating class song!

The movies and subsequent tv series are called Highlander. Seen all of the movies, the original series, and all of The Raven episodes. Just make sure to watch the Renegade version of Highlander 2. Awesome sword sequences... etc.

For the film Highlander, they each wrote one song. Roger wrote "It's a Kind of Magic" Brian wrote "Who Wants to Live Forever", John wrote "One Year of Love" and Freddie wrote this one "Princes of the Universe. The soundtrack is better than the film!

He's missing all the music that's in the song, talking about Freddie's présence, dancing, about watching the movie (that's a terrible movie btw). Nothing about how the song is constructed, about the amazingly rich harmonies, the key modulations, the guitars, the drum ostinato, the duet between the guitar and the lead vocals in the very end. Adogg, you don't deserve this masterpiece song! Listen to it a new time.
