In this video, I talk about my experience using the wow vanilla addon AUX and hopefully show you how to best use it on the auction house, in my opinion, the best AH addon that you can acquire in classic vanilla servers. I'd like to get your thoughts on how to make an even better video so please share any ideas, I am open to hearing them! Love a bit of theory crafting.

This wont work on blizzard's wow classic release, it runs on a different engine.

10:19, I'd buy those 7 Thick Wolfhides for 70s and then post all 8 for almost double the price that you posted one wolfhide for. that would've been a profit of almost 1,5g, instead of 9s99c.

Many thanks for vid. Do you know how aux works out historical prices? ie does it get info from central database somewhere or is it driven purely from the scans I do each time I visit the AH? (I've been working on the assumption that the more regularly I scan the AH then the more accurate a picture I'm getting of the market place - but I'm not sure if this is correct)

Aux remembers the lowest price of the last viewing. so no actual database with taking an average i think.

At 7:01, you mention doubting someone would pay a gold for that item. However, notice that the item's level requirement is 19, which may attract the interest of a Twinker. In such cases, there are usually brackets for each ten-level range, and items closer to the end of each bracket tend to have better stats. For example, brackets like 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, etc. I always consider items with level 19, 29, 39, etc. stats. I think the "best" is the first twinker range of levels 10-19.

how do you edit the settings of auctioneer to not interfere with aux? A setup guide would be useful.

Do you know if Aux uses prices scanned by auctioneer? I lkie the layout and use of Aux BUT it takes a lot of time to scan the auction house once to get all updated prices. Auctioneer is much faster with scanning.

i got a question on the post tab....on the left i have the bid tab with price per piece...on the right the buyout tab but its showing me the price per stack...how can i switch it?? tried rightclicking etc but its not working

How do you use Less than, Greater than oprators in the filters section?For instance I want to search armor between 1s and 10s bid price.

I fail to see how an addon that is clearly extremely limited can compare to auctioneer. No sniping interface, no snatch list profit ui, no smeltlist... list goes on and on.

Hey i got a problem. If i look for something let's say a sword in Search tab, i see 3 auctions. But when i got into Post tab, it isn't showing anything but says scan complete. Or it shows only 1 instead of 3. Whys is it like that?

When I search for something it does the search then says search complete but won't show me all of the listings, it stays as 1 listing how do I change that?

How do you change the default stack count? Every time I put up a stack of herbs it wants to put them up as individual stacks of 1. Is there a way to make it always put up the total size of the stack, even if it's a different (less then 20 say) size each time?

I think you provided an out of date aux version. My aux is very different than the one you included in the download. Mine is much cleaner and user friendly. I was able to just swap it out with my old one and everything worked fine. Maybe that's why you don't like using your version, I'd suggest getting the latest version from github github.com/shirsig/aux-addon

Just downloaded the classic version. Only problem is when I go to sell it gives me an option for stack size, but not amount of stacks? Anyone else have this issue or can recommend a fix? It doesn't appear glitched out or anything, it's just not there so if I want to sell multiple stacks I have to list each one separately. Help!! I want to use this addon! Thanks.

How can u bid on a stack of auctions at the same time? It's very tiring to bid for items that bid for 1c, but there are 100+ items listed... Is there a way to do it?

When I filter search for buy vendor profit, it shows me items that will not result in a profit if vendor-ed, anyone else have this prob?

Hey Will - first of all, just bench-watched all your videos the other day - keep up the good work and spirit!! Hope you don’t mind, but i do have a question with me aswell to you and the viewers: This might be a stupid question, but please cut me some slack - I left the game/ community about 2 years ago. Heard a bit about the whole Nolstarius shutdown, not in details though. I would actually like to join a Vanilla Server that is, as you mention in one of your videos, not all about scamming etc, is that still possible? After the Vanilla Announcement from Blizz? Are there any servers left? And if yes: Which is worth joining/reliable? Please note i’ve done zero googling etc, since I prefer hearing your opinion or any other viewer :) Thanks!

Light's hope which is run by White Kidney is about the only Vanilla server going right now with any credit, that being said WK himself has been a known gold seller so I wouldn't be surprised if someting shady was going on under the hood. Most people are sitting it out on LH until blizzard drop their server. They have said that once blizzard does so they will shut down LH

Will you be coming back for classic? Really appreciated you videos and would like more, especially once classic launches. With it being on the modern client and structure, I assume addons will be much better than the vanilla addons.

is there an addon when i put an item in auction, it automatically sets a good PRICE TO SELL my item. it automataccly compares it to other items. cuz i don't know what items are worth

Question, my Aux doesn't seem to know the vendor prices for items until I have tried to sell something manually, is there a way to populate it with vendor prices so i can run a vendor profit search?

Hi There MegaSnowman, I am afraid it does not. I didn't know that it even cataloged the vendor price at all. If you go to my Bank Alt video and give that a watch I show you an addon called Informant, it's a small part of the Auctioneer Addon. That will know the price of all items that the vendor accepts :) Hope this helped

Classic was built on the 7.3.5 client so it most likely wont be good for blizzard classic. Good video though

it does actually! found it through willitclassic, and everything seems to work properly. The scan takes 20+ mins which doesnt seem right, but i haven't tried running scans without the seller names.

yes, and after a few days it gets reliable.. but always keep using your brain, some people try to manipulate these historical prices by posting nonsense items with a high price

@@Mati-mk5wd make sure it's in the right folder you should have a tree like World of Warcraft>_classic_>Interface>AddOns>aux-addon. the last folder of aux must be named exactly this.

I want to start vanilla so much, but i can't decide which class should I take. I want to participate in both pve and pvp and only a few specs are viable at both. What would you do if you were me? What are your suggestions?

warrior always felt clunky for me, it got better only in the late expansions. I played a rogue a lot, so im kinde bored of it. Im thinking about a holy/retri hybrid pally, if it is a thing at all :D

I would check that you have the add-ons unpacked correctly in the add-ons folder. A lot of times they'll be multiple folders that you don't need and you may have to change the name a lot of them will have master or something else in the name that needs to be deleted

Go to your addons folder and check the folder names of each of the addons that aren't showing up in the menu. If any of them have "-master" at the end of their folder name make sure you rename the folders and remove the "-master" from the end of them.

i used auctioneer. i'm still looking for better addons though. ... regarding aux. there are features and problems compared to auctioneer. it is nice that you can click which price you want to use. but it is worse that it doesn't continually normalize. and the lack of auto-undercut is different. why does it record historical value instead of average sale value (today, last 8 days, last 32 days, last 128 days)? for postal. i seem to remember a separate similar addon which allowed filtered mail opening. so you could just take all the gold out of your mail. there are a bunch of features i'd liek but can't find. like auto pricing, and just auctioning everything in assignable bag slots.
