I just did this conversion on Husky FE350 21 model and OMG the difference - soooo much better in terms of handling and whoops at speed - massive improvment
Essentially Better than 1800 for a KYB conversion Then a shock is 2400, wheels are 1200, tires, pipes, tuning, protection Makes it a $20, 000 bike pretty fast and that’s not ever everything
@@EverySingleSunday It's just hard for me to believe that WP has tried multiple times and failed to meet the benchmark set by the KYB SSS back in 2006. It's kind of engineering malpractice and a slap in the face to their customers.
I agree that KYB has that locked down. Stock XPLOR is great in slow speed and super tech I think it just comes down to money and what they can produce for the sticker price in the bike. Not trying to defend them, but that’s where my thoughts go
It’s a huge difference. Especially if you’re outside the 170-180 pound range that they think we all weigh. I’m excited to see how this goes with the new kit
Bro getting this kit on my 2022 KTM SXF450 tomorrow it’s cool seeing a RU-vidr that knows AEO personally! Big friends and supporters of all hose guys Jeremy is such a badass dude at vet nationals he personally helped me test and set up my new forks and new shock on my Husqy and his service is just unreal! You’re content is amazing bro keep it up!!
This got flagged for some reason so I just saw it Yes, Jeremy and the entire AEO staff is absolutely awesome. Hopefully you have this kit by now and are out enjoying it already Maybe I’ll bump into You don’t there or at the track. If we do, please say hello Travis
That's a lot cheaper than the similar product or the Dal Saggio Sphere's that I have. I recently put the Sphere's in my 450 KTM and like them even better than the KYB's on my 125. It will be interesting to compare the 6500's to the Sphere's.
Ktm are killing it! Fit sub standard cheap to produce xplor forks as stock.........then offer a kit to bring the forks up to the standard they should be stock!! Years ago they had decent forks (OC and CC), they only went away from these due to cost of production, then had the marketing department convince buyers the new forks were decent!!!
I haven’t made one but have over 100 hours on them and love them. I actually have 2 sets now Make sure to have them setup for you because they are stiff out of the box.
Great video. Do you have a follow up video of the 6509 kit. Your thoughts etc? Just picked up a 23 gas gas 350 Mc and I’m looking at getting the 6500 conversion Thank you and keep up the good work
I actually don’t. But I have about 200 hours in the 6500 between my 2 bikes and love them. Just make sure they are set up for you. I recommend Dave at Schmidt Performace in Perris CA if you don’t have a shop. He knows these very well and is awesome to work with
@@EverySingleSunday i just looked at wp website. looks xact pro can also come with springs. i'm still not sure difference between xact 6500 vs xplor 6500. thanks for responding.
It’s been absolutely amazing Just been traveling and haven’t had time to to film a new video since it was installed Check out any of my new video to see it in action
I am torn between the ex and the ec versions. Do you think the explore is a better fork for the slower technical stuff? You say that you love the air fork on your 450. I do more mid to fast high desert with maybe 30% slow rocky technical. Your 2 cents?
I think The EC fork is better in. 1-2 gear, air fork for everything over that The 21 air fork is so much better than other years. It wasn’t actually bad in the rocks if the psi was set correctly But, this WP 6500 kit is amazing and out preforms both these hands down I love this fork now
With both these having linkage I think a bigger difference would be if you want the lower 1-2nd genera ratio on the EC, or the headlight The EX has the same gears fro 3rd up Also, we can’t find a EC on the west coast right now. They still have EX bikes all over Sounds like the EX may be what you want anyway
Awesome mate! Got my cartridge kit installed today, also got a bladder kit for the rear, wp Newcastle did mine (australia) looking forward to your review video! I can't wait to try them tomorrow.
@@EverySingleSunday Alright !! I'll check it !! And one more question!! It would be possible to find a suspensión like That for my a KTM 1290 Súper adventure "R" .. and also for for My other bike! A KTM 950 Súper Enduro !!! ? Thank You very much!!
@@EverySingleSunday It's ok!! I Will keep reserching for an up grade like That!! Thank You! Congratulations and keep going forward with this.. Your RU-vid channel! 👍💪👏👏🥉🏍️
Hey Travis thanks for the info. Im new to your stuff so forgive my ignorance. What type of riding do you do? I ride hard enduro/ tech stuff. My forks are at the shop as we speak and I should get them back tomorrow and ride on Saturday. How are these on the more technical terrain? All the reviews I find are for offroad and MX riding the faster stuff with big jumps. Thanks
I like hard Enduro and technical single track. They are as soft and plush as a stock Xplorer on the initial hits but ramp up through the stroke so they are great on big hits and g outs as well I’ve been super happy with them and highly recommend them I’m 245 W/O gear and I did soften them up a bit for technical off-road So, stock, they would be pretty stiff
@@EverySingleSunday Thanks a bunch for the great info, it’s much appreciated! How are these on a MX track? I have a 2020 FE350, stock Xplor with heavier springs for my weight (275lbs). On jumps the stock forks just bottom out too easily without adequate dampening. I ride mainly fast woods and mx tracks, not that much slow technical. I need to do something to the forks, been contemplating between the comp/reb mod and the 6500 kit. What are your thoughts, is the cost of the 6500 kit justifiable?
They are great everywhere. I have mine valved so I’m running almost full soft of enduro. If I run the clickers in and add a little preload they are fantastic on the track I’m sure with a Setup designed for the track they could be even better (I highly recommend Schmidt Performace in Perris CA) I absolutely love this fork setup
@@EverySingleSunday how so??? Admittedly I haven't ridden the new gas gas yet but i have rode new ktms and huskys and for tight technical riding I truely believe the old gas gas was alot better. Some minor things the Austrians do better but as a full package the 18-20 Gas Gas gets the win for me
2016 KTM XC250. Powerband converted my 4CS to XPLOR PRO 6500. After testing, I messed around with the settings, just because that's what I do. It turns out that I ended up exactly how Billy had originally set it up at. Billy and Ty are wizards. Worth the money. Riding a bike with truly dialed in suspension is amazing.
good to see ,,, having more power is not about going faster but handling is money better spent thats for sure be keen to see what you think of it cheers steve/Australia
Its called buy an old ~'12~2014 ktm XC. Forks pretty much stock like that back then. Now KTM are cheap bastards and cut corners. Also used to get a kehien carb and brembo brakes and oh boy!....an aluminium sub frame and a kickstarter came on them too.
@@scp8412 I’m not sure. I had Schmidt Performace in Perris CA do mine. Dave has done tons of these kits and knows them well. He sells them also if you haven’t bought one yet
Unfortunately AMA didn’t let us run helmet cams. Someone broke the rule and gave me some footage so I may use their stuff to put a video together Pisses me off
I've wondered how those work. People talk about the inserts a lot. Thanks for posting Travis. Love your videos. HEY, on your Skydio, have you disabled the 8' floor height? Makes a big difference.
Yea, I have it disabled but it’s almost hit my riding buddies a few times. It doesn’t take into account for things that are moving. I’m excited to see how they work also
I bought them from Konflict Motorsports because I had a good experience with a Touratech shock they turned for my Super Enduro. For the 6500 cartridges I'll run them straight out of the box and tune them myself from there.
Quick update to this - I never did get the cartridges. Texas had that freak winter storm, so I expected a delay. Almost three months of delay seemed excessive though. When they stopped calling me back I had to dispute the CC charge.
Interesting, but when you try use that peace out sign at the end try reversing it. That way round is flipping someone off whereas the other way is the peace out sign 🤣
No. The 6 day’s comes with the standard open chamber system that comes in all the XPLOR forks. This kit will drop right in though and make it much better
@@EverySingleSunday thanks. I looked it up and it is a very complex system for the top racing guys. Since i do my own service and i am an average rider i will stick to the simple open system. Also looks like closed cartridge have more tendency to fail and you lose right away a considerable amount of damping compare to a failing open system.
It’s very similar to what KYB, Lucky, dal saggio are doing edit it is supposed to be much much better That being said it is expensive and definitely not for everybody
Looking forward to your opinion on these. I had my XPLOR converted like yours. Both legs have comp/reb. They work really well in the slow, but not very well on whoops etc. If I turn up the comp, good in whoops terrible in the slow. Maybe this kit will bridge the gap a bit.
