Some RU-vidrs become unwatchable if you go even a few years back because of how quickly they date but your content really doesn't age at all and I love that so much.
I'm pretty sure the idea was that you could plug an Ethernet cable or use a WLAN connection on a smart TV or receiver or whatever, and it would act as a switch and send a network connection through HDMI to other devices, eliminating some cabling, but really it was a solution to a problem no-one had. Maybe it could allow a device with no wireless radio to connect to a wireless network, though I doubt any such devices would bother to implement Eth/HDMI either.
There were a couple really expensive ones. Windows Vista and all the other versions after it don't need a tablet edition because the tablet features & certain optimizations for tablets have been included in them
Somehow I don't get why ppl are offended by 3 dots... I randomly end my sentences with 3 dots with no other special meaning when typing EngLang lanjuj.
Intel Atom 1.6GHz and 1GB RAM? Ugh, I used to have a PC with those specs, never again will I touch anything with shitty Intel Atom inside it ever again. It's the worst processor I've ever used.
***** Windows 8.1 tablet here too. Except I have 8 gb of ram, 512 gb SSD, pretty much instant boot and a dual core i7. What did you say about being fast?
TheNathanNS yes the original Atom was (and still is) dreadful, but there are newer ones which are ok... also that i7 in the Surface is an i7 4650U its neither a desktop nor laptop variant, it is a mobile processor which basically means it's no where near the performance of a typical processor, with the branding of a high-end offering, but it is still very good for a tablet.
Very surprising to see that it pretty much has Wacom drivers on it. Have you ever tried using a Wacom pen on the screen to see if it works along with it?
The Zune is the creepy Uncle that doesn't get invited to any family gatherings anymore and your parents tell you to call the police if he shows up at the door.
The fact that 3G was ever considered fast is astounding, my phone can barely even function when my bars drop to 3G (I have 4G but some areas drop VERY low)
I think the reason for that is because websites use whatever standard is popular as the base-line to build their websites. so back when 3g was popular then websites were more "basic" and easier to load, and nowadays that we're on 5G they can have a lot more data being transferred and they take advantage of that, but go back to 3G network and try to load the same website then its still trying to send and receive all that data but it bottlenecks. either that or its just relative and compared to 2G/Edge it was fast but compared to 4G its slow like sir/sirette B T said... who knows
3G has been started to shut down in 2019, so it's likely your phone wasn't getting the full capabilities of HSDPA/3G which went up to 8Mbit/s, enough for 720p video steaming
@@jobi-wankenobi2244 No, it would just be getting a stripped-down 3g coverage, with a lower power and less cell towers due to 3g being phased out by the main cell carriers
+Dalton Stewart You can hate W8 for getting rid of start, changing interface significantly for no real good reason, and getting rid of a lot of important features for *enterprise*, but the metro/boxy UI with livetiles is excellent and was an important part of W10. Now, just by pressing the windows key, a bunch of tiles pop up and tell me EVERYTHING I need to know, and if I want more, I click on them!
+Aut Craft well, the keyboard remembers both its last size and position, and you can dock it on any side of the screen, and it automatically pops up when you tap any input or tap the keyboard button (like if you want to do a ctrl+alt-del or win+tab)
The reason the lasso tool was so slow is because it was a "magnet" lasso, where you can just click points around what you want to select and it connects them. Dragging like you did made a gazzillion points for it to connect, hence the slowness.
I have that same Acer netbook at the start. After 5 years, it's still holding up well. The battery has long since died, prematurely I might add. I'm watching this video with it right now in fact.
I know, this video is five years old with some change, but I would still like to mention the HDMI adapter with VGA and Ethernet (8P8C) is for internet-enabled HDMI, so you can use HDMI for internet connectivity. So if you use your wifi to connect online via the tablet, you can (in theory) provide an internet connection to other devices via HDMI, as well sound and video.
+野龍(FlameRat) just master race tablets just master race emmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm with the tegra 1k 192 cores wtfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
These are great to listen to while drawing, because if you fuck up you can still listen to Ashens' calming voice while he's getting frustrated at shitty products.
It allows you to use styluses, but ONLY capacitive ones (makes sense, since it's a capacitive screen). The other thing that makes it a little hard to use for drawing is that unlike... say, a Bamboo drawing tablet, there is no "hover" sensory to see exactly where you're about to draw, so sometimes pinpoint detail work can be difficult. Apart from that, yes, it works well enough.
This is the video i watched years ago that got me into pc tablets thank you ashen. After this video i got a cheap motion computer tablet then another motion computer and i loved it and animated on it. you shocked me with this video i was like ''wtf what?!!! windows on a tablet????'' then my mom saw me with it and she looked into and and got herself a surface pro worth 1000 bucks. i borrowed and i was like omfg it's so fast and can play dark souls and a lot of stuff i was like holy shit. then my mom got a surface pro 3 so i got to keep the first one. then my dad gave me a surface pro 3 like omfg, All because of this video and I've been animating in HD. i couldn't with the motion computers. THANK YOU ASHEN!!!!!! I got to animate with a pen instead of a mouse cause of you
I remember wanting one of these so badly when Ashens first reviewed it, but I was 10 at the time and didn’t exactly have disposable income (still don’t lol)
This was a pretty damn cool device for its day. Especially when you consider Microsoft didn't make a true Windows tablet with mobile data connectivity until 2017. Not to mention this has two USB ports, a serviceable webcam, and really good screen resolution for a tablet (some laptops are still being made with 15" 1366x768 displays unfortunately)
@@TheCRTProductions Fujitsu and others were making tablet PCs (with keyboard built in but you could rotate the screen around and lock it so it was tablet like). I've got an ancient 15 year old lifebook (so older than the thing in the video) that was far superior and had a Wacom built into the screen. No reason to wait for Microsoft to do it.
Windows 8 isn't that tablet-friendly either considering its most practical use ends up being the desktop interface anyway. I rarely use my touch-based apps, even on the touch-based devices I have.
Nice to see the predesescor of my Dell Venue. Massive improvements done there, the Keyboard still obscures most of the screen, but beyond that it is a marked improvement
I think you can buy a Windows 10 tablet from your local bestbuy and load Windows 7 onto it. I think you can, at least. Though I'd probably stick with Windows 10 on a tablet, as it's better optimized for it.
HDMI actually has built-in support for ethernet, which is starting to be used in home theater equipment (so one device can act as a network hub for all the others).
Damn... I also have a laptop with that same Atom processor. But holy moly, back then they could run fast. Now in 2019, those Atoms are just obselete and really really slow.
Randall Stevenson His little bell in the top right will say 99+ and I guarantee he wont check it he has way to many videos and too many comments to check.
Ah yes, the magical Intel Atom. It can manage an amazing 5 FPS on most games using the lowest possible graphics settings. I am intrigued by its unmatched processing power.
+Atho Atoms have gotten better though. But this generation was shite. I had this, and believe it or not, Intel dropped support for that generation of Atoms, leaving us with no Windows 8 graphics drivers which meant it wouldn't do anything Direct3D related, and everything was really being slow while Windows 7 worked fine. Also, 7 drivers didn't work in 8.
That ethernet port is capable of connecting display(s) too. This scenario is useful when a lot of wiring is required i.e distance from the system to a display is longer than usual and a HDMI cable is not long enough to provide a cost effective output with less latency. So to eliminate this issue we use ethernet cable to transfer the data :)
4:45 "[Microsoft] are currently working on a far improved tablet interface, which they're gonna release in a few months..." 11 YEARS LATER: _Windows 11 on tablets still sucks_
***** I think the main problem with that is that whenever someone tries to change something, everyone starts shrieking about the founding fathers spinning in their graves and how the person trying to change something is a Communist. No, I'm not specifically referring to Obama. It's happened before.
My Apple iOS Vs Android... I own both an Ipad, and Android tab/phone By Arcade_Portal32 iOS: I believe iOS is more good looking and better for the person who just wants to call, and play games like "Angry Birds", and likes to use Facebook. iOS is more simpler, and easy to use but is harder on app, and programming developers. To download emulators, or to bootleg app-you will need to Jailbreak, or you may be able to use "time trick" depending on your OS. But I have also found there are less emulators on iOS as well, but I have found the emulators like GBA4iOS look a bit better. Most features on iOS are on android, but there are some cool new "built in" features like picking up your call from your Apple tablet that the Android lacks "android has features like this in Android 5.0 Lollipop"., though Android devs usually find a way to add these new features on there android phones/tablets. I have found updating iOS alot easier, and updates more compatible with older apple devices. Because iOS purposely closed from bootlegging, and unofficial homebrew apps; it is way more secure, and it is getting close to impossible for thieves to steel any information from your device and has malicious software protection preventing adware "though android has good free adware security as well on there play store". Apple has app syncing features "but android has apps that do this as well". Android: Has more customization, and doesn't have to be jailbroken, or use the "time trick" to play Emulators, or get bootleg & homebrew apps. Most android phones battery's are removable. As I have found out myself, iPhone battery's are "built in" only removable by Apple Techs, or using special battery replacement kits. But there are some Android phones that are going this route as well for lightness. Android phones I have found are usually easier on novice developers, but because of that, there are alot more apps on the android that are usually less refined. But some new Android phones, and tablets can now even run multiple apps at the same time "if you wish to do that". Almost every single Android phone, and device uses the universal micro USB cable as. Apple devices use there own proprietary cables. Android is capable of Micro HDMI "currently on certain phones", as apple devices are not. Lastly android devices are capable of expandable Micro SD, and Apple has the iCloud as a form of expandable storage. Some android phones can even be used as TV remotes, but I wouldn't be surprised if iOS, or an iOS app could do this as well. Conclusion: I believe it all comes down to "what do you like".. The refinement, security, and ease of use of iOS. OR the customization, openness, and expandability of Android. I love apple for its refined apps, and ease of use. But I love my Android "im an emulator freak" for the ability to download & play emulators like Dolphin Alpha "which is an Alpha staged project allowing android users to play Wii/GameCube games right on there phone" and download your favorite emulators for whatever system you like right from the Android App store, no dangerous jailbreaking required to play free bootleg games and customize your system, and it's extreme ability to be customized to your liking. It all depends on what do you like out of a phone "Simple iOS, or Expandable Android" Like the war of Mac, or PC. It all depends on what you like in a phone! :) Hehe lol i love to write when I get into a topic :D
android screen is 1080p, newest iphone is still 720 android is far better looking than ios and it plays those basic games just as well if not better quad-core processor, much better quality than the iphone's
Breydon Wilson Actually i dont care. The point is that Apple has fallen behind, and those products are waste of money now. So everyone who knows what they are doing should buy Android. Who idiot pays 200€ for iOS and 100€ for apple logo? Rest of prize comes from cheap components
Well atm the best mobile processors are in the LG G5 and the Asus Zenphone 2 Deluxe... and this one has 2.5, 2.3 and 1.8Ghz + 600mb cache. There's still a way to go.
Are these specs good for a Windows 8.1 Laptop? 4GM RAM Intel Celeron CPU N2830 2.16 GhZ x64-base Processor500GB memory No clue if that made sense. I'm just reading my PC Info lol I also play Gmod pretty easily, same w/ Half-Life 2, CSS-CSGO, etc. (CSGO can be laggy sometimes)
HDMI allowes for ethernet to be piped through the connector. Some cables have "HDMI+Ethernet" printed on them. Not sure if I have ever seen a device making use of it, but it exists.
My new computer i got for my birthday said that it MINT be touchscreen and it will MOSTLY be touchscreen and i tried touchscreen and that did not do crap do you have to enable it?
