The only UHF station in Philly to my knowledge that uses the same call letters today. WTAF became WTXF in 1988 and WGBS became WPSG in 1995. WKBS went dark in 1983 but came back as WGTW in the 90s and then becoming a TBN affiliate.
This was actually a WPHL practice well into the 2000s. I have a fully animated one from 2000 - similar script, but with WB17 and Tribune mentions where "Channel 17" and "Taft Broadcasting Partners Limited Partnership" (wha?) are in this one.
I remember back in the day when PHL17 use to show a local weather card with the time at the bottom with that music whish I could reproduce it on here lol. They usally did it when they showed Sanford and Son and then the Jeffersons comming back from the commercial break
