This is a selection of clips taken from an afternoon broadcast of the 12:30 Star Movie on WPIX, New York City's channel 11. From various clues on the recording, I believe this was from Wednesday, June 19, 1985. The audio is not great.
The show's open introduces that day's film, "Triple Cross," and goes into the Warner Bros. logo. After that:
--Star Movie bump
--ArtPark's "Varied Treasures" Summer Brochure, Lewiston, NY
--"Benson" promo for Thursday's episode
--DeVry technical school, 1984
--classic WPIX promo for "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?"
--Coney Island's Astroland, with the Cyclone roller coaster
--promo for "Custer of the West"
The movie ran 30 minutes longer than the usual slot, which meant it ran over into what was normally cartoon programming, so the kiddie commercials start:
--G.I. Joe toys (SkyStriker, Dragonfly Copter, Cobra Rattler)
--Golden Grahams cereal, General Mills
--Trix cereal (pop art animation, purple grape), GM
--Sweet Secrets comb & brush, Galoob 1984
--Musical Glo Worm, Glo Bug, Glo Butterfly, Hasbro Pre-School
--Kindles, with record and booklet, Ideal
--SST Muscle Machines Car Crush, with Bigfoot and Black Gold, Playskool
--promo, "The Start of Something Big" with Steve Allen
Finally, a WPIX Editorial with Richard N. Hughes, "New Formula: Same Problem," about the cost of shipping containers entering the Port of New York, filmed on location in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn. (The agreement mentioned was signed on 2/6/85.)
