Got the same exhaust on mine and took it out today. Feels like a completely different bike. Lighter, the engine doesn’t struggle in low rpms anymore, I can actually reach the top of 6th gear on a flat road now. Hardly any heat coming off the exhaust. The old one with the multiple emissions reducing parts was set up to run lean and hot. Night and day difference. This 250 went from just enough power to plenty of power on road. I used a dynotune from dynojet as well.
Is the power commander worth it? I have been debating on it but i vant justify the price unlessnits rlly noticable with a higher flow filter and exhsust
@@BentleyCoachworks I had the power commander v with the stock air filter and exhaust map on the bike before I added the new exhaust and new map. It was a while ago but I can still remember what a difference it made in the smoothness of the throttle compared to completely stock and no power commander. I also believe there was some increase in power as well. But now that Ive got all the emissions garbage off it, ais delete, exup emulator, new exhaust and map the boost in power is significant. Not sure what it would be like with the new exhaust and stock ecu. I was going to change the gearing to 3.6 final ratio to help with its struggles in lower rpms but honestly it doesn’t seem necessary now. I used to go full throttle and wait on the bike. Now when I go full throttle I hold on!
I have this exact pipe for my WR250X. I also had a GYTR pipe before and this is quite a bit louder. I don’t have a MX 450 to compare it to so Bently Coachworks, is it really that close to sounding like a 450? I might do a sound test and put it on my channel
Its a GPR exhaust, the silver one was on clearance for 250 USD but they still have the black one available on their website! they are handmade in italy
@@BentleyCoachworks I ended up going big gun on my wr250r because I didn't know about this one and can't get fmf...I like the sound out that one better than the big gun though it does sound very close
Im going to get the jd jetting one but they are all the same unless you splurge and get the power commander. At the moment i havent noticed any negatives running it without a fuel tuner though. But my bike isnt the euro or california varient it never had an o2 sensor and i can only assume it wasnt running as lean as those ones from the factory. Theres no popping on decel or hesitation. All ive noticed is a slightly harder pulling power down low
I modified the DB killer because i found it was too quiet the way it came, but yes i run both the cone and the modified baffle. I think i included that mod quickly in a more recent video if you are interested though i cant remember which haha
@@BentleyCoachworks Awesome thanks...just waiting on my O2 plug and then going to install my new exhaust. Wasn't sure if there is an advantage to removing one over the other.
@@BentleyCoachworks if you could do a video or even send me a clip somehow that would be great. I would hate to waste the money if it’s crazy loud. That thing barks though! I like the tone
Videos will never do exhaust sound justice. Your best bet is listening to someone who owns it describe it or actually hear it in person. Its a good bit louder than stock. Not outrageous but noticeable. With a ecu adjustment the engine runs so much better with this exhaust.
