Wrangler Cowboy Cut Flannel Lined 47MWZ Jeans Review 

I like the idea of Wrangler jeans and they sure are sturdier than Levi's. However, they don't nail the look as great as Levi's does. What makes the 501 so iconic to me is the wide button fly and the back pockets - their size, arcs, reb tab, and placement all make it so iconic that nothing else quite FEELS right. I have a pair of black washed 13mwz that I bought vintage, I think they're 15-20 years old. The fit is not bad and the denim itself is very sturdy. However, they aren't Levi's, and nothing beats a pair of 501s for me.

Excellent review of the 47 MWZ's and comparing/contrasting with the more traditional 13 MWZ's and the broken twill denim, which is a hallmark of the Wrangler®brand. I personally was fortunate enough to purchase a pair of 36 MWZ well over 10 to 12 years ago, which is the slim fit version of the 47 MWZ's (originally marketed as 'The Premium Performance' line). The pair I have though is broken twill and came raw, which has long since been discontinued. Those jeans are some of my best fitting blue jeans ever. Needless to say, they did form a hole in the back side seam area, but have since re-patched those jeans and still look decent with incredible fades. There's no way I'll be getting rid of them although I do wear them now much less often.
