Zomgbratto Di Lolrenzor Comparing Archaon to Abbadon is like comparing a Dragon to a worm Archaon commands just about everyone. It doesn’t matter who you are, you follow Archaon or you get fucked. Chaos Warriors follow him out of sheer respect and awe or in complete fear... and those idiots who think they don’t have to follow this guy will get curbstomped. Even the Chaos Gods are afraid of this guy, *Even the Chaos Gods* because they know he is gonna fuck them up too eventually. Oh and this guy gave the finger to the Horned Rat because he didn’t give a fuck about some stupid ratmen. The Chaos Gods constantly throw champions at this guy but he slaps them all with ease. You do not know Chaos if you don’t even know Archaon. With Abbadon you can pay mere lip service, but you can basically just ignore him since he doesn’t actually command that much respect other than from his own Legion. You can pretty much build a Chaos army without even knowing who Abbadon is since he’s just that insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Abbadon hasn’t even accomplished a single thing that Archaon hasn’t already done tenfold. Warriors of Chaos>Emo Space Marines

I mean, maybe. The 2 worlds are very different. Archaon has a giant demonic beast and, arguably, the more powerful "presence". But Abaddon has the planet killer and a fleet of space ships, many of which can probably wipe out an entire population from orbit.

They also hold parts of the Eight Points, the book ends with Katakros listing off all the movements of his troops as they spread out and surround the Varanspire, taking all the locations around it. His first push on the Varanspire was to trigger all of Archaon's defenses so he knew what he was up against, now he's spreading out and slowly strangling it.

I am guessing this is a different chain. "the chain of purest hatred" could only be broken by the one who hates slaanesh the most. This new chain could only be broken by a follower of khorn willingly destroying it. So I guess it's a they sounds the same but are not kinda thing.

This event is probably earlier in the timeline, happening concurrently with other events in the Slaanesh tome.

@@kimarous" the chain of purest hatred" was the first chain to be broken during the events of wraith and rapture. The second chain "the chain of worst betrayals" was broken during the malign portents story line and the third "the chain of cosmic law" was broken by nagash causing the necroquake. So timeline wise this is the fourth chain to be broken as it takes place after the events of the necroquake.

Slaanesh probably allowed it since he putted his pride above slaanesh’s freedom which ironically pleases slaanesh since god of pride, excess and all that, besides he’s still the chosen of slaanesh disobedience to him is to slaanesh as well

Archaon demands that his followers follow him first, their gods second. If they don't he will just kill them. It's kinda of peer pressure thing I geuss. Yeah the Slaanesh division could say, 'no, I wanna stay!' Then Archaon can just say, 'sure, just hope you enjoy fighting undivided, Khorne, Nurgle and Tzeentch all at once.'

@@jacksplatanimations4033 which is why all the chaos gods sorta fear him, if say Khorne decides to not back up archaon anymore, not only does he have to worry about Archaon, but all the other Chaos gods will see this as weakness and gun for him too

Dude... Archaon has spent AEONS in battle, worshipping of chaos, retrieving his demon blade, mount and other powerful relics. Calling him a "Mary Sue" is absolutely ridiculous and shows complete ignorance of the lore.

I agree ^. Even before AOS, in the Old World, Archaon had to actually go on treks and risk his life to even find the artifacts that help him out. They weren't just given to him. So it's not really possible to say he's a Mary Sue, when everything he has...he's literally worked for.

No, this was his plan. He had all his Morticians working on building an army and supply lines back to Shyish while he took a force and poked at the Varanspire to see what defenses he will trigger. The whole fight he's just noting how different tactics work, and when destroyed he returns to his fortress where he has an armory of different bodies made for him to go out again. The book ends with him coordinating his forces as they spread throughout the Eight-Points and begin the slow grinding encirclement of the Varanspire.

@@danielkeller3780 Yeah, the fight for the Eight Points didn't end with this book, it was just the beginning. Katakros didn't get it all in one go, but the invasion continues. Though it does mention a pain that Katakros feels where the Slayer of Kings stabbed him that should've disappeared when he got his new body but didn't, so he isn't totally unscathed.

@@Waywardpaladin It was a sarcastic seriously, because your first comment seemed like you were being butthurt about archaon wupping katakros, but i see now you know what your talking about. Although, judging from the absolute face beating that the Ossiarch Bonereapers took, i doubt they'll be there for long, if Archaon decides to do anything about it.

Archaon is actually a failure if it wasn't for the Skaven. He gets all the credit, while Skaven did majority of the work during the End Times. Just like the Skaven stopped Nagash from fully completing the Black Pyramid ritual. If they didn't do this, Nagash and his armies would have defeated the Everchosen here.

I'll take Archaon over Abbadon any day.

And let me add, "Alternate Universe" retcons can kiss my ass. I played in the Storm of Orks...er, Chaos campaign and da Orks won, hands down. The AoS Archie still has the Eye of Sheerian right on the warscroll, which Grimgor pulverized with a 'eadbutt in the supposedly-real End Times story. So tell us again which timeline is in continuity, GW.
