Nice upload! These were cars of my dreams :) Back to 2000 Colin McRae Rally 2.0! At 1:42:02 Krysztof Holowczyc is passing by driving Subaru Impreza, sadly he crushed after :( Great memories anyway!
I agree. I would say 2004-2005 were the last true years of rally. That was the peak of the technical innovations. After that, the regulations got stricter and manufacturers started dropping out so there was less competition (Loeb and Citroen started dominating - not to take anything away from his great driving and the good team). But 2001 was probably my favorite year of rally. So many manufacturers with cars based closely on production and so many great drivers competing on many tough stages.
In my Opinion, The Group B era was the golden age of rallying. The Group 4 era was the silver age of rallying, while the years of the Group A / WRC cars from 1987 to after 2003 were the bronze age. The WRC today is very dull...
It became worse in 1997 when they abandoned the Group A cars wich had more in common with the production model they were based on. In 1997 they started with sequental gearbox and alot of stuff widening the gap between production model, only thing a production car have in common with the WRC car now is the steel skeleton.
+pd19852011 Totally agree...so many great pilots, so many great teams...obviouly the Group B has an aura of legend, but the technology/talent/media intererest of the end of the 90's, early 00's will nevr be matched. Certainly the peak of the WRC history
I think from 2005 onwards, the WRC hasn't really had the star power that this era and previous had. Sure Loeb won 10 world championships, but who was he up against?
what's the name of the theme song in beginning? shazam tells me "Craig Beck - Introduction to controlling alcohol" but that can't be.. by the way: great season! i love the wrc, especially 1997-2005
I agree that is a great driver of course...but i believe that if was driving against Tommi, Colin etc he would not be so succesfull as he is now! And i hate ppl who saw 1 rally on tv and after that say he is the best of all time...lots of ppl do that!!
I absolutely agree! ;) My favourite year was probably also 2001. So many great drivers and manufactures. After 2004 - 2005 my enthusiasm really dropped... How many manufactures are there nowadays? Two? Citröen and Volkswagen? You don't know anything about the music, do you? :(
hahaha no to byly czasy!!! Fajnie czasem obejrzec te stare sezony. Zejebiste rajdowki, znane nazwiska no i uposledzony Tommi: me an Richard good friends haha!! Pozdro panie Litmanie:)
Thats why i love that old wrc and FIA rules, look at 1:17:28 :) Auriol just in shorts and t-shirt, driving a very powerful machine. Dont get me wrong, I love speed, rallying and cars, but now its just too boring to watch wrc :(
90's - 2004 -> this was rally :)) Thanks for uploading! Btw: I love the music at the begining before the FIA's logo appears. Does anyone have any idea what it can be? Or where I can find it? :)
Loeb just doesn't have the big boys to fight against. However, he is a great driver. To have 8 wins in a row (twice as many as the highest of the others) he is easily the most sucessful rally driver...
Great season! So many good cars, so many good drivers! I thought i remembered it good, but i completely forgot Burns was in a Mitsubishi between Subaru and Peugeot... Thanks so much for uploading! ;)
+Alexander Shepard , as Adam Davis said, its for marketing reasons, the evo 5 was known and sold in euope as Carisma GT, only in Japan the evo 5 was sold as a lancer. i dont undersand also, because the shape of the car is clearly the lancer and the carisma is completely different car.
