The fact that there's not a hundred spectator fatalities after each event, just shows one how good these drivers "ralley" are. Incredible. Best drivers on the planet.
rally drivers is just in another level. the way they control the car, even in the most difficult terrain, is just something else. mad respect for them!
Yeah true these guys have a FUCK ton of trust in the safety of their vehicles even though they be going like 100 mph through fucking woods like bruh this is sum fucking scary job to have
@@the-nm7sd CPU traction control in this new cars is amazing, is impossible to do this with a group B, this new age cars enter in turns totally decompensated and the car just maintain the line and return the car to the straight line no matter how bad you enter in the turn. in the group B era the cars need to go several turns skidding until the driver could return the car straight.
@@mariaperez-ep8wz Wrong. There's no driving aids of any sort in these Rally1 cars since at least 2011 with the introduction of the 1.6 WRC cars. From the APPENDIX J - ARTICLE 262 of the "SPECIFIC REGULATIONS FOR RALLY1 CARS" document available as a PDF in the FIA website: _"Any driving aid system is prohibited (ABS / ASR / Traction Control / ESP / gearchange ...). Any such system must be rendered inoperative."_ This footage shows proper drivers in control; the Rally2 category often shows less skilled drivers not able to catch their cars, and Rally2 cars are easier to drive than Rally1 cars. Also, Group B was damn boring on tarmac.
0:19 Say what you want about Group B: yes, those guys were crazy. But this dude is speeding down an irregular surface with his foot down with extremely poor visibility. THE. BALLS. ON. THESE. DRIVERS. Absolute insanity!!
I think the Navigator ....is the one whose stuck between the driver and the spectators holds the nerve .....as he can only count on the driver's capability and spectators distraction....thank you
You think this is insane look at what the group b drivers had to endure driving 500bhp cars with no technology just a passenger reading pace notes whilst doing 150mph on loose gravel going sideways most of the time… Balls of steel where usually the order of the day and even as a spectator back then you took your life in your hands just standing watching them go by at insane speeds whilst throwing gravel in your face.. Yeah good times i shall not forget👍
@@sugarnads I love group B but I’m well past watching old replays. Modern WRC aren’t boring in the slightest, you’re just focusing on the nostalgia hit from group b
It's always sobering and amazing to play a video game, think to myself "nobody would be so crazy to drive like this" and then see someone drive 2x as fast as I do except in real fucking life lol
Brilliant video, as ever, from J-Records! It was cool to meet one of you guys on the Shakedown and SS1, hope you enjoyed Croatia, and see you next year! Keep it up with great videos!
I follow F1 everyone says they're the best drivers in the world, but when I see these rally guys, I really don't know about that. These people are insane!
I know it sounds corny but it really is true. Even the average driver can learn and be very good at track driving if he is persistent and has good tutoring. But this.. you either have it or you don’t.
It's funny, you see on the TV someone like Takamoto or Greensmith is 20 seconds off pace and you think 'damn they're slow' but from the outside everyone looks like they're flatout non-stop. It makes you wonder just how good the top guys are.
it s really about experience, confidence and consistency. being 1-2 s/km off the pace is really about tenths adding up through each corner where you were a little early on the breaking, tentative on the turn in, just a fraction late on the throttle etc
i mentioned to a friend that in theory a very cohesive crew could theoretically drive in pretty much zero visibility conditions but holy shit thats nuts
Would like to see what the finishing results were on this race. What a bunch of animals!!! Lol gotta love rally racing. Without a doubt unmatched in dangerous madness and intensity. Well, super trucks are a close second. Lol But this stuff is awesome!
I've said this many times before and I'll say it again. Rally drivers are a different breed to everyone else. Even I wouldn't drive at max speed in the fog.
