After hearing a legend of a sunken houseboat in a cove in the southern part of Lake Lanier, I met a gentleman who was familiar with the location and volunteered to take me and Jim there. The houseboat was reportedly sunk in the 70's or 80's and was used for training purposes in the past. We were successful in locating the remnants of the houseboat and enjoyed some time exploring and meeting new fish friends. Max. depth was 39' and it was a 72 minute excursion. The bottom temp. was 70* and viz. was around 5 - 10'.
