I don't even see it as confidence. It seems like intelligence and mathematics. Moose calculates what needs to happen, what he knows he can do, and then figures out how to breach the difference if there is any. Just because he ain't smashing shit up or screaming but is taking a more considered approach, that's not arrogance; that's smart.
@keithjohb2198

@markadler8968 Месяц назад
@@keithjohb2198 Don't you think he had the exact time he had to beat memorized long before the competition and trained to beat that time? Because I guarantee that is exactly what he did. And how exactly do you fix an axle lift? They all lift on the same bar and have to get it over their heads. Mitch simply takes strongman far more seriously than the average competitor which is why he wins so much and only gets beat by genetic monsters like Tom and Halfthor. Do you just hate Canadians or are you always this ignorant?

@markadler8968
@markadler8968 Месяц назад
Yes Novikov was the first one to prove that and I believe he was even lighter than Mitch when he won his WSM title. When you are 400+ lbs you do gain an advantage in pure strength events like deadlift/shoulder press but lose it in any event that requires speed/agility.

I think they go through phases, in part related to the demands of competition - there seemed to be a big thing for static strength monsters in say 2015-2017 and previous to that Big Z was more suited to the static stuff too. Closer to home Glen Ross was absolutely huge in his day, ridiculous static strength but probably couldn't climb 2 flights of stairs. If the events favour these guys they will naturally be successful; if the next year is full of loading medleys, Conan's wheel etc they will not do so well 🤷

Seems like a lot of bend in his legs, like he is just resting the handle/weight on his legs and not putting the load through his grip, resting his hands/arms/shoulders? its a questionable record I think, pretty sure Mark Felix did not rest the bar on his legs

Mitch has been doing the social media tap dance going around collabbing with a large number of people within the industry. To dumb it down, Mitch has been getting clicks and he has showed he is willing to bow down and kiss the ring, the ring being this social media hoop you have to keep jumping through to get your name in the limelight and keep it there for as long as possible. At the end of the day it's all about publicity, because more publicity equals more eyes watching, more eyes watching equals more appeal to advertisers and more advertisers equals more money. It always comes down to that, that's just the world we live in.
