Our goal is to provide you with accurate info. The value of Tweels is mostly in the long-term cost savings. We have seen them perform better on certain mowers
I put Tweels on my 36' Scag V Ride 2 and I will never not have Tweels again. I love them. They are great on slopes; I mow inner city and no longer worry about running over a broken crack pipe. Honestly, its one of the best purchases I've made.
I've noticed a good bit of difference mowing slopes side ways, the tweels have no side wall flex or downward slope movement compared to air tyres which makes me feel more stable and safe on slopes
So you like the regular tires better than the airless tires ?? if so I’m not going with the airless tires I been wanting to hear someone’s honest opinion about them
Interesting all around: BUT your costings, .... How do you get so many punctures ? I am expecting 2000hrs from my tyres - they run on the grass after all and even on bare soil, the wear is minimal. More likely to perish from old age. However, from a RISK POV, then I would probably go with the tweels - or could they simply BREAK UP - what about plastic fatigue ? thnx for posting
Good video, I really appreciate the business advice, the mindset about business is very important. I just bought tweels because I mow by roads and keep getting flat tires, I have lost a few hours due to flats and I'm putting a stop to that. I could just push through it but like you said that lost time really equates to lost money even in taking time to patch a tire on or off the job. Thanks for taking the time to talk to us about it!
Have a major concern when it comes to these. First I have a stander X 52” deck The tire size is a 20”x10” x 8” rim The tweel doesn’t come in a 20” Was told to use an 18” tweel . Several problems with that . The tweel only 8.5 “ so it more weight to the ground , but the biggest problem is the deck height I just lost 2 “ from deck height . I’ve already lost an inch in deck height some how. So that puts my deck height at max 2 -1/2”and that sucks. Will the 22”x11” tweel work
I've had air tires for 1500 hours on 1 mower and 800 hrs on another and have never had 15 flats or air leaks in 200 hrs. I've had to replace air tires because of tread wear but not because of flats, I reckon tweels would be great for guys who don't run their machines.
@@envisionelectronics lol correct. I watched the video formed my opinion with what I've experienced over the years. Never really had problems with the drive tires and flats, but I've had front caster tires come off the rim from hitting a metal pole.
It says one per 200 hours. 15 over lifetime of tire. 3000 hours seems extreme. Edit: I see he has a new set of air tires every 500 hours. That’s nuts 😂
@@seabass22 Exactly!! I'm a novice to the business. However, my business partner (father) has been in the industry for 2 decades. He owned an Exmark and never replaced the tires. However, he did replace the engine at around 2k hrs. We currently have 500+ hrs on a machine with hardly any wear on the tires. I just can't see replacing traditional tires every 500 hrs.
I live in mesquite thorn country- i pick up thorns constantly which means flats.both dealers did not recommend slime in the tires but rather tweels. What is your opinion?
I live in Texas and the Mesquites are native to my property and see lots of new shoots late in every summer. I put slime in the tires when they were new and go several years without a leak. Also, Ask a Ford and Chevy dealer which brand is best and I would bet there would be 2 different answers. Everybody needs to decide what is best for themselves.
Stupid question, but are tweels heavier or lighter than regular tires ? I want to put tweels on a 36” stand on, but will it make it heavier or lighter ?
Great videos, thank you. These accessories make life easier. Have you considered some option to avoid folding the rollbar? There is an automatic system for quad bikes that would be a good solution
I’m considering buying some tweels. I run my mowers under pressure at 6punds on the back,my question is are tweel compatible to an under inflated tire for the squishy ride?thanks in advance.
Can I get a job? Lol.. I’ve put many Standards to the test for over 20 years, just about any situation I’ve been their cut that.. that would be a fun job!!!! I would love to put input from a cutters view...!!!
I have a Mi 360 scooter, all 4 air tires went bust (2 original and 2 spare) with light usage really. Eventually I changed to holo wheels / tweels. Now they last forever. Tweel economy works.
Great video One of the best (if not THE BEST) video comparing Tweel vs. Air. I can see some advantages of the Tweel but you have to weigh the cost vs. use. Thank you
We offered the Sport I and Sport X which come with a retractable seat. Those have recently discontinued as well but some dealers still have them in stock
I spend $150 on new tires every year for my scarf v ride 2 36 inch. I get flats about every 3 weeks but plug them myself and keep a push mower as backup. The tween prices need to come down. Too expensive in my opinion. You can go home and plug your tires and loose 2 hours tops!
Prices are massively exaggerated, what kind of contractor wouldn't have a spare on hand, and who would let that shut down your whole operation for a simple flat. Get your prices more inline and you will sell more instead of trying to justify your way too high priced product.
I recently retired a 22 year old Exmark with well over 4000 hours on it. Rear tires were changed once at a cost of less than 132.00 delivered for the pair. The wheels themselves are good for the life of the mower. To say that someone is going to beat you up buying a used mower with worn out air tires with your cost of 250.00 vs wore out tweel tires which cost 1500 to replace and saying they will actually add value is nonsense. 500 hours for the life of an air tire is laughable. Perhaps 3000 hours is too?
Tires average about 4 down days per machine per tire, if you do the math on it 4 tires x4 days at a conservative estimate of $400 lost revenue per day that's $1600 in lost revenue. So you just lost $100 but gained the privilege of being the person to haul the tire in to be serviced. Tweets are a no brainer here guys.
Or you have a couple extra sets on hand for half the price of one set of tweels. Tweels are for the glamour guys or homeowners who don’t know how to run a business.
not fair. the air tires are way over inflated at 13 psi. I run 6 to 8 psi on my 72" mowers. Tweels are NOT ADJUSTABLE so if i cut 200 pounds off my mower by ditching the ridiculously heavy suspension seat and taking out other unnecessary weight then the Tweel would not be able to compensate. Suspension should be at the first point of conflict with the anomoly wich is the tire/bump convergence. The second instance of suspension is Biomechanics in that the feet should be pressed firmly on DUAL deck lift arms for bilateral support and compression of the operator's back into the seat back WHILE the operator body is in a position similar to a zero gravity chair. then you will not likely experience back pain and have full and immediate control in every direction including up/down as The Fight or flight reflex sends signals to the legs first. Also if you track individual equipment on a fleet you would find less need for stick men as you can float the deck and eliminate a lot of string trimming.
Isn’t it time for an AWD zero turn...........all our automobiles have moved that direction..... Come on Wright.......step up. Tweels aren’t the answer. AWD. AWD.
when a flat tire happens you remove the mower to the trailer and use a backup mower..done, zero lost time or money. I will get these when the new tires show wear or i get a flat.
I run very low pressure, 8 to 10 psi, on fixed deck Standers, which is great for traction, ground pressure, and ride, but can result in the tire being unseated from the rim occasionally, which is worse than a simple flat. I carry mounted spares and a lever jack, which minimizes down time at a fraction of the cost of tweels. Also, heavy duty tire sealant to prevent flats from roofing nails, etc. Maybe Wright could offer a spare tire option package on new mowers.
What does it matter? 4 mower brands in 3 states have no mowers to sell and no clue when they will get any. Saying things like put a down payment and maybe in the fall the factory will send one.
