Sounds more like they are saying an abbreviated "Yes sir". Which is common in Japanese martial arts to acknowledge that you understand.

very impressed by your videos and your channel have had nothing but positiveness and have found nothing that I would disagree with, until this video. Again just a variation of ideas and focus but I have spend many years working on that particular lock, Kote Gaeshi as it is called in Aikido. Uke isn't really attempting to keep the lock when you counter it, he is letting go and allowing you to do those moves. Not being negative or rude, I hope, but a couple of those "escapes" if attempted while someone really is doing a Kote will cause you to break your own wrist in the attempt of escape. Now I wouldn't say a skilled person couldn't escape a Kote using those techniques but I will say that it would take a good long time and a few injuries learning how to escape a well placed Kote. First one if timed perfectly could work but I'd expect a bit more would be needed overall. the second one, again will not say wouldn't work but again the chance to apply the right amount of force against it without hurting yourself is going to make it difficult to say the least. Also the wrist lock isn't placed on at any time what so ever so a real test of weather it could work isn't there. The third, in my experience, when it is too late it is too late. I've actually tried that one, once. Of course the Kote Gaeshi was really put on and I almost broke my own wrist trying that one. my partner had to let go, he anticipated I would do that and let me go before I injured myself. fifth one, dropping the weight again, your guy isn't really putting a kote gaeshi on. drop the weight, like that, with someone who is skilled with that and it will stay on and you most likely will fall back, still in the Kote. Extending out one, again he lets you do it there is not an ounce of resistance. Not too much to harm but at least enough for a true "escape" is needed. When it is locked on it takes much more effort to escape than what you show. Again I am not saying they wouldn't work, they very well may be effective counters to that wrist lock and you may be able to do each of them, with a real lock. Not saying that you couldn't I see wondrous things from many people and i have enjoyed your channel and your skills. I am also aware that you can't train "real" or 100% but some resistance from the Uke should be shown, none here at any time, ever.
