Hey Friends! ✨ What's a new daily practice that you've implemented this year? Feel free to share any thoughts or questions below and I'll reply to each one 😊 Have a great weekend ❤️
I’ve deleted all social media from my phone, tablet, and computer and have purchased a pocket notebook and in my purse and a notebook for home and I’ve noticed a HUGE DIFFERENCE in my mental health. I still use RU-vid, but only will engage in thought-provoking videos. Writing is a wonderful thing to do and incorporate into my daily life.
I have ptsd, so sometimes when someone says something unintentionally specific about something that happened in my past, it takes me back and sadness eats me up. I've started journaling. It's helpful cause it helps me let my thoughts, anger and sadness out in a more appropriate way instead of unintentionally lashing out at a person. Journaling for me has a very good impact in my life. I really like this
I have been writing for more than 6 months now, first thing in the morning. It is so therapeutic and I often manage to explain to myself why some thing are happening. I strongly recommend to everyone. Big thanks for your channel.
This is why I use paper planners bullet journals journals notepads! I feel like other people think I'm weird like oh why don't you just use your phone? My phone just doesn't work for me! I need to and I love writing things down on paper! I remember things way better that way
Rapid logging bullet journal style as I go through the day is the single most useful tool I've used in the last 5+ years. Everything just gets out of my head so I can focus on whatever is at hand.
I'm currently struggling with my live-long social anxiety and fear of the outside world. I decided to try and change my life this year. Your videos are really helpful and thoughtful. Thank you for your work. You're inspire and motivate me
cheesy and dramatic is my favourite combination and yes to everything you have said in this video - I've said this under countless journalling videos but I'm all for removing the mess in your brain and putting it on paper. Then finally when you're done writing you can close the book and life feels less fuzzy. I once filled an entire little journal in 2 weeks, at other points its taken me two years and thats the beauty of it :)
I started journaling everything I thought or did in a day two and a half years before I watched this video. I’m 19 now and I can read back through my (currently) seven total journal books, and I can see my own past day-to-day experience learning how to drive, advancing from beginner to intermediate in music and poetry composition, improving my drawing style, changing many personal habits and routines, and meeting several people who are now my friends. It’s a good thing to start doing, and you’re not getting any younger. Heck, for awhile I thought I was too old to start at 16. Thanks for sharing this great video!
Hi Jordan, I've watched many RU-vid channels on the topic of journaling and then I stumbled on your channel today. Your reasons were the best and most thought out I've ever heard. Was very impressed so you have a new subscriber as a result :). Thanks for your wise words.
I just found your RU-vid channel today. The first video I watched is about social media. That's because I am now trying to take a break from it. Thank you for sharing everything. Your videos are really calm and helpful. They also give me inspiration and new perspective. Best of luck!
You are who I want to be. Living in nature, staying present, spirituality, finding yourself, and remaining in a state of egoless understanding that we likely never will fully find ourselves. But that’s the whole point right? The gold is in the journey, not the destination. Thank you for sharing ♥️, what a great channel to find!!!
Hey Daimon, thank you for the kind and thoughtful comment. We all deal with learning to live in the moment and enjoy the journey. Welcome to the channel 😊
Thank You 🙏 I believe God has spoken to me about writing and how I started is a “ To Do List “ and I put a check when I completed the task because I believe it teaches me success. This video is confirmation to keep doing it . Romans 12:2 Be ye TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your MIND
Jordan, thank you for inspiring me to write in my journal again. Just like how you inspired me to totally quit social media, months after I watched your videos, I was able to quit it completely. I love learning from you and I hope that you will continue to create more videos like this and inspire people with your knowledge and wisdom. God bless you. :)
Thankyou for sharing Jordan, you have helped me step away and delete most (baby steps) of my social media accounts, it scares me but I am excited about the potentials you have shared in previous video. For me journaling is a daily practise and is my way of building a deeper connection to myself, it has been with me through the highs and lows of my life and I don’t know where I’d be without it. Last night I journaled for an hour my emotions before deleting and my intentions, it will be amazing to look back on in the future. Great video and thankyou 😁
Oh my! I missed watching your videos. This is SO refreshing, timely and inspiring. I needed to hear this and be reminded. Thank you for this. Your content and your choice of lifestyle never fails to motivate me in my journey. Continue to be a blessing, Jordan. God bless you, indeed! 💖
I'm absolutely loving following your content Jordan! Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I have a complicated relationship with my own faith especially because of my sexuality and the way my family react to what is different from what they've learned. I'm getting my eyes opened a little more by watching you talk :)
Hello! I just found your channel and loved your perspective on journaling. We are of different faiths, but I liked how your mentions of your faith were not intrusive at all. I've been journaling for close to 37 years now, with a gap of a few years in my pre-adolescent years, and though I don't write everyday (I have a free flow, "do it when you feel it" journaling philosophy), I have always had very positive feelings attached to this exercise. I look forward to here more from you.
Loved this video Jordan!! Amazing shots and editing too... gotta start journalling tmrw it’d be so surreal looking back at it to see whether it’s the same things that I care about as time passes...
I’m about to get back into analog note taking. The daily journal sounds perfect for getting ideas out of my head. Your guide to the focus points on “how” to do this and what to think about when writing and the detail you can try to write to is super helpful and I can use these ideas in really practical ways. Thanks!
What a lovely message 🙏💕 I’m going to start this tomorrow. I’ve always wanted to journal and have tried so many times but when you said ‘I don’t like going to the gym and eating healthy and blah blah’ 😆 it hit me. This is GOOD FOR ME. Some habits are not always easy to form right away but inevitably benefit us so so much that it almost seems silly not to start! So. I’m starting. Thank you xoxo 🙃💕🙏🙌🇨🇦
Wish you the best time ! I think, complementary to that part of his talk, the one advising to write crappy pages is freeing too. It's the part of : I like sport but I don't like going to the gym because my move are weird compared to the idea of perfection I can see elsewhere or in my mind. It's something I'm struggling with. Making imperfection not only a part of the journey but a major one of the process was needed as a creative affirmation. Thanks !
@@lucief.7151 so so true! I went to write today and almost didn’t because I thought ‘whatever I’m going to write is dumb lol’. It’s not. I’m just going to write without perfection 💕🙏
I do not subscribe that easily or I keep scrolling through comments while watching a youtube video. But yours was different.. I listened to you carefully, without any scrolling. And it was so peaceful and calm. Subscribed post that.. thank you so much..Going to write now✨
I have journaled consistently since 2004, in written form and digitally. I use a voice recorder for those hot thoughts on the go, and my digital journal has a password to keep out prying eyes. My journaling has helped me pull the dirt out of the carpet of my psyche so to speak and analyze situations that were not my shining moment. I also keep a bullet journal for daily rapid logging and a common knowledge book for those oddball tidbits that I want to remember from places such as Pocket, RSS feeds, books, song lyrics, or any other thing I want to remember. Honestly, I think I’m keeping the notebook industry alive all by myself lol.
I'm taking your challenge ☺️👍🏽 Btw,the background is a great visual, the bgm is so soothing and the way of presentation is awesome 👍🏽 keep it up bro 🐱!!
I decided to visit your channel when I was thinking that why do I write things down. I am constantly writing things down! I wondered why do I do this? Your video answers many of my questions. I agree with many things brought up in your video as I too have experience the positive results from writing things down!
Journaling kinda makes me think I don't have real feelings... Or understand how to feel. But I'll keep trying even if I ramble about the same thing in different ways lol I'm hoping that I'll understand myself and stop being skeptical of my own feelings. This video definitely helped me come up with ideas.
Thank you for sharing! It's completely changed the way I view my life and future. It was difficult for me to gather my creative thoughts and make something of them when they were stuck in my brain. Thanks for watching 😊
Great content all around watched a few videos and I love your delivery, it is well thought out. I needed your help on knowing exactly how to journal. I'm not sure what to journal exactly, my thoughts? how my day is going? what I want to accomplish for the day?
Thanks for a great job on encouraging the use of a journal. Question: It sounds like you are a believer, so...what/how do you record your notes from quiet times....word/prayer/insight etc...thanks in advance
I think other than laziness. The thing that keeps me from writing is the fear that someone else is going to read it one day. And then they’re going to know what a messed up self centered person I was. Because as of right now somehow or another, I think I’m fooling people. That sound strange when I say it. I can leave instructions with my adult children to make sure that all of my journals are destroyed when I die but… They’ll read the first I know they will. What I’m trying to say, is feeling the way I do about that highly affects what I will actually write down, and I think that defeats the purpose of journaling.
I have thought the same but sometimes I think it might be boring (then they won’t bother). Clarity of thought to paper is what matters and it’s really rewarding.
Have you ever used a digital template for journaling or planning in note taking apps like Evernote? If so, do you have any recommendations? Do you manually type your hand written notes or do you scan? Thank you for sharing!
For people who don't like writing, you can try Think App. I have made it exactly for this purpose of introspective thinking. In Think App you record yourself speaking as voice memos as well as writing. It's an app that has been ethically designed with no social comparison or addictive triggers. Check it out! (It's the purple on the iOS App Store). xx
i have written honestly, but i worry when i die, it’s going to be hurtful for people to read my journals. my son has been hurtful for years, he isn’t kind to his sister, i thought i did the right things to produce a supportive family….instead i created my own antagonist,
you do not need to have any notifications in a computer... is up to you what you put in it... a computer do not need to even be connected to internet... just have an ethernet cable in a place you go to when you want to be connected to the world wide webb.. internet is actually the wrong term.. is the world wide webb you connect to when you connect to social media etc.. no one forces you to connect a cable to your computer ...
